I literally rewinded this in the original video and took in the information. Got off my couch immediately and went to the range. I ended up having the best range session of my life, struck 200 balls and still didn’t want to leave. This is some no BS tips and has put Min Woo Lee much higher on my favorite pro player list. I beg everyone to try this with their swing! I certainly wasn’t disappointed
One of the best lessons I've ever gotten is exactly what Minwoo was saying... 1) get the feeling that you're "pushing the club/hands away" from the body during backswing - creating separation while turning your hips/body 2) have the right elbow feel as though it's pointing straight down to the ground (if you want to exaggerate - to your right foot toes)
Basically Garret’s right arm needed more width. Min is saying create more width but at the same time don’t make your right shoulder go into an internal rotation on the backswing cuz it’ll have that “chicken wing” look. If you have a chicken wing with your right arm, you’ll have to manipulate your arms to try and shallow the club. Your right shoulder needs to externally rotate while creating width. One of Tiger’s tips many years ago he said to push the butt end of the club far away from your body during the backswing
Great lesson..completely agree. However, nicklaus had a flying right elbow that worked out well for him so there's that as well. My theory on the golf swing is that there's ideal and realistic. YOUR swing is somewhere on that spectrum but you've got to find it..that's the challenge!
The steep backswing of Minwoo is something I emulated and got some very positive results. I used to have the soft spaghetti backswing of the pupil in this video. Awesome lesson! BTW, my swing thought on my backswing is to think of Tommy Nakajima... not sure if any of you remember him, but he had a similar steep backswing that Minwoo has.
Such a great change! Saw this on the main GG channel and changed my swing this week - took my 7i from 155m to 170m, even with only starting golf 8 months ago!
Sounds stupid but i was legitimately trying to extend my hand path length and i was starting to do exactly what gm has been doing and as soon as min did this on the video it hit me like a ton of bricks and the next day at the range i was making better contact straight away. Such a simple swing thought.
I said similar in comments ages ago when I first saw your swing, your right and left arm kind of look too close together on the backswing and you kind of drop the club a lot instead of taking it straight down. Thats cool, you'll be coming out on tour soon
This is what my coach and I work on every session, I can never get the feels. Everytime I go back with a shorter more compact closer to my body swing and she helps me lengthen and go down better.
The ‘connection’ thing isn’t the same though. Garrett keeps connection between his arms, what Min Woo is saying is to create width, but his forearms are still close together/connected.
@@AdamIsMyNameO there are tons of people who are adamant about keeping that right arm connected to the body. From Ben Hogan to the dozens of people who make RUclips videos about keeping a headcover squeezed under your armpit during the backswing.
@@AlabamaGolfer I’ve never once seen or heard that. When I watch the top players on the world, none of them have contact between the trail arm and the upper body in a full swing.
@@AlabamaGolfer I think you’re mistaking an arm connection with avoiding depth. Min Woo is trying to create depth. The drill of keeping something in your armpits is to avoid having the right arm flare open, but that’s a separate issue.
@@AdamIsMyNameO don’t get me wrong, I don’t disagree with him. I think there’s enough history of different golf swings that have proven effective to show there’s more than one way to skin a cat. However, there’s many golfers who will go to great lengths to criticize excess separation of the trail arm like MWL is suggesting. Most recently, I engaged in a discussion with some on one of Golfslump’s video where they were giving him crap for having too much separation during his backswing tutorial. It’s not a big deal to me; I’m terrible at golf lol. I was surprised by the fervor these people demonstrated on the subject as you seem to be. After all, Ben Hogan said it, so that was gospel according to them. 🤷
@@mattaue especially since you want your chest a little open at impact and your lead arm kind of pinned across your chest how could you keep it in front of you. Someone please help us lol
Getting your arms back in front of you is how you create lag and compression. If you leave your arms behind you are going to cast and flip the clip. Just watch a clip of any solid ball striking pro get into P6
Well... don't think of it as right and wrong per se. The fact is getting better at ball striking when you're as good as Garrett is extremely difficult. Min Woo is giving him advice to take a step up to pro golfer level ball striking is all
check out arm swing illusion, that is what he wants you to feel. The V of the swing is always in front of you from address to back swing keeping your arms and club in front of chest

Rewound** sorry I had to fuck my ocd
Agreed!
How many balls did you suck?
I hear you 100%.
Only here in the Northeast I run into the garage and hit a few into the net!

Min Woo : I can look at anyone's swing and tell them what's wrong
(instantly gets 100,000 DMS of swing videos)
How much fun would that be to have Min give you a playing lesson!
Great, its 11:55pm and im going down to my basement to record some more slo mo swings again
I wish I could practice in my apt 😅
Lmaoo fuck I feel you.
it's a plus if you have a mirror too... lmaooo

Love that this was a completely different unedited one from what we saw in the actual video this came from. Nice tip!
Garrett was hitting it pure at the Desert Open right after this
What a good dude for sharing his knowledge. I knew from listening to him when he was mic'd up last year during a tournament that he was a genuine guy.
I love this, and I'm working it into my swing. It really feels like a swing I had years ago, in the early '90's.
Brings back the old playing lessons with the pro’s.
I totally understand this because I try to do this all the time and it feels tough to do but always my best ball striking when I do it this way!

Definitely working. Hopefully I'm understanding this correctly. I guess it's the pulling in vs the pushing out motion during the downswing.
Brad should do a series fixing the groups swing.

Love these videos I learn so much
Min Woo Lee has has an awesome way of teaching 👏 Awesome video!
Brilliant tips from Min - love it
Very genuine and good from G and Woozy
From this day onwards every shot I hit. I will have an imaginary Min Woo Lee standing right next to me. ❤

The Compact Swing This is excellent
Just found your channel today. Thats pretty cool to play with a pro and learn. 🎉
Chef Woo Lee giving us the ingredients to a banger. Much Appreciated
kuddos to Min ! best drill ever (even mc cormick) ever!!!! widen and shorten back swing and you go miles!
Love the Moroccan music 🇲🇦 in the intro!
came for the lesson, stayed for the slickback 3:39

Get another coach if it’s a she
Amazing lesson!!!!!!!!!
min woo you legend!... tried this after the first vid, told my golf mates i got a lesson from min woo and they laughed... then i beat them bahahaaha
Great video, love to hear the discussion
garret isn't really actively listening lol keep your arms in front of your chest on backswing
MWL seems to be pretty cool. Saw him in person at last year's Masters and was really impressed with his game.
This is a million dollar coaching that is free to the public.
This is so good bro
Thank you Min Woo Lee🎉,!
Thank you for play golf golf and golf
Good afternoon from New zealand 🇳🇿 awesome lesson to min woo is epic
Good lesson
BTP! Bro Turning Pro!
I’ve seen Min Woo hit 190mph ball speed with driver. One of the longest on Tour
Love these, keep it up.

Break the internet with this
Min Woo is a pure players pro awesome dude
So sick dude 🤙🤙
Woozy the 🐐
Min is a top guy watched him at the British masters was the best ball striker and longest there
keeping it in front of your body on the downsing never made sense to me. On the backswing I get it but I don't understand on the downswing.
Me neither…do they mean the hands (the grips of the club)?

Igot a lesson from this too... I was too close with my right arm as well.
Let's freaking go boys
im impressed at how quickly G could implement. If G spent all of his time on mental game he'd qualify into a few tour events eventually.
What ive been saying, hes a great athlete
Wrong. He’s a great golfer but there is a huge huge difference between him and a tour player. I’m sure he knows this as well.
@@craigg2058 hey craig, mind looking at "eventually" and "if"
Angle of forearm to elbow staying more in line of body than pointing out behind him. Keeps arms more in front of chest. Helps rid the ole from top
fuckin nailed it with the instruction what a chef
Im always amazed how scratch golfers can always learn something new from tour pros
I see Garrett using a 3 wood and I assume it would be the same for driver, but could this concept apply to irons as well?
Amazing!
The “oh my god” from Garrett is great!
Garrett ready to start unleashing some BOMBS!
I wasn't aware there was something wrong with Garrets swing.
Me either..haha..I guess as golfers there’s something always wrong
well he’s trying to go pro now so every little thing counts

He an amateur for a reason
Light bulb, Min Woo... OMG.. thanks... the missing piece
Would you do this with all clubs?
Gold
Let him cook!
That’ll bring the path more neutral and help against that random hook.
Broo i used this advise today and the driver was on point , then the dam wedges started fucking up lil
He’s very generous
Ok, trying this. Woosie is a G.
Damn man M.W. Lee is pretty impressive
Please make a video With Min going into what he explained to you.
Thats the ben kruper
Young men, they just eat all the time 😂
He definitely meant short as in height bro 😂
He messed his swing up
YESSSSSSSS
why wouldnt you get lesson from your boy Ben Capper?? His handicap is single digits remember 😂😂😂
Recycling clips?
Micah Morris is tiny and hits it further than any one on tour with maybe the exception of Bryson .
I would literally pay him to look at my swing and tell me wtf is wrong with it
So keep your elbows together but not jammed into your side.
“It’s uh a little too loose, and too tight.” Uhhh 🤔
What does he mean “the club in front of you?”
check out arm swing illusion, that is what he wants you to feel. The V of the swing is always in front of you from address to back swing keeping your arms and club in front of chest
They clipped footage from the last GG video and made it a separate video. Double dipping. Very clever.
So many conflicting instructions out there. Of course, I have to try this but it goes against what I've been taught.
I'll admit it's too technical for it to help me at all.
