- Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Logic for his first in-depth interview about his surprise mixtape and alter ego BOBBY TARANTINO. In part 5 Logic breaks down Nick's favorite track on the mixtape: Deeper Than Money! And to thank all you true fans for tuning in, Logic and Nick are going to sit down during this tour and answer your questions! The Gaithersburg, Md. native explains how he never makes music for the money. Logic says, “Everything I do creatively is never for money. Every time I step in the booth, every time I write, [it isn’t for money].”
He goes on, saying, “Just because you got money doesn’t mean you’re gonna be happy, and just ‘cuz you can buy everything in the world doesn’t mean you’re gonna find your purpose. And so that’s what [‘Deeper Than Money’] is about.”
Logic also says the final verses on “Deeper Than Money” were freestyles. He spits, “I don’t do this shit for nothing but myself/Think I need to focus more on my health/I do, I do/This the shit that I love/This the shit that I love/Comes straight from above/Off the top off the dome/Gotta get it, go home/Hella late, feeling good, got a lot on my plate/What the fuck is on my mind?/I just, I just want to rhyme/This the type of shit I got to do/Oh my God, what’s the time?/Can you feel it right now?/Can you feel the whole style?.”
He continues, “It’s the type of shit, I gotta get it, gotta get it/I’ve been vibing out here in Malibu/Would you come through?/Tell me motherfucker truly what it do?/L-O-G-I-C, this is who I be/L.A. where I’m at, M.D. what I be/All that, all that/God, I can feel it, I can feel it/I’m a fly on the wall feeling ten feet tall/Right now this the type of shit, this the style/This the motherfucking style/And so I tell em…”

Hi Logic I met you at the Under Pressure Concert in Austin Texas and I'm not sure if you remember me or not but I am the one that gave you one of my books with this long written letter inside. What really impressed me about you is your genuiness. I really see the love that you have for your fans. I thought It was just going to be a quick handshake and a picture and a "next" but you noticed my shoes (converse) and you made sure I got a good picture (because I did not know how to use my flash on my phone lol). Do you think the "New Sound" that you noted you've never heard before on your next album will help form a sound that can be identified as "Logic's" sound?
Been a fan since YS1 & I feel most hip hop fans can tell you can spit, but the main critique i hear with Logic is "you sound like this, you sound like that". While I personally think everyone's influences show up in music one way or another, and there's always gonna be comparisons to be made, i am curious to see how you continue to grow.
