Good luck with your finals! I really think that it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Your description of the show being like a kid telling a story about how he saved the world with his best friend Superman really sums it up. My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun while watching it and we even repeat a few of the jokes from the show to each other. The fourth episode was the best episode due to how insane it was and I like how unapologetic it is with how campy it is. I think that if the marketing was a bit honest about what it actually was - perhaps call it "Wade & Knuckles" instead of just "Knuckles" and emphasized that it's more of a buddy comedy - people would have been a bit more chill about it. Everyone enjoys a fun show to turn their brains off to enjoy every now and then, but the marketing made it seem like something it absolutely was not.
Yeah! I think if the trailer started out as knuckles and then wade entered like halfway through and he started narrating and use the cartoony sketches they had for the intro song it could've gone really well!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels like this about Knuckles. I recently watched it and a lot of my friends said it was alright but not anything special, but I'm glad I kept my expectations low bc this show really surprised me! I really think this show is not NEARLY as mid as people are parroting, and I feel that episode 3 really expressed that to me personally!
First person I've seen expressing the vibe that sonic 3 won't go full angst and totally agree. The way some people describe what they want from that movie with shadow, it would be so tonally inconsistent with the previous two films! Fully expect this one to go to slightly darker, emotionally tight areas, but I'd prefer that it still nestles in with the first and second movies and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Glad to hear you enjoyed knuckles series too - it's one of those shows that I just found myself enjoying more and more the longer I processed it. Perfect buddy roadtrip story with a lot of heart, proper funny in some places.
I feel like this is something you’d need to watch with others to really enjoy. I was supposed to watch with friends and it didn’t happen so I was by myself enjoying it but also like huhh? (I’m also not a campy rock ballad person 😅) I appreciate the fun they had with producing the show, but I hated Wade’s sister. She was low key insufferable..

First off all goodluck with ur finals Imo knuckles was okay but the screentime he got kinda hurt, but okay since the budget so... what ruined it for me was the strange jewish stereotype they did with the mom like she was not a bad character but they did an offensive stereotype for her but whatever also the political stuff like man i know paramount is pro isnotreal but why add that in a kidshow like first off all knuckles doesnt support killing innocent people so watching the dinner scene was akward bc of it no hate to jewish people like its completely fine and I liked the idea of the dinner scene but the way they made it ruined it also felt like the first two villains were better than the buyer genuinely knuckles isnt as bad as people make it sound but it does feel more like the wade show and what I mentioned before really ruined it for me like 💀 still hyped for sonic 3 tho this is just my opinion its not bad as a whole just 😭

I didn't mention that part mostly because I don't feel like it's my place to speak on it (stereotype wise) but I definitely feel like the timing of it all was a bit awkward 💀💀💀 I'd like to hope for the showrunners sake it was already written in and they had to just run with it 🤞🏾 it was weird there was so much emphasis on it tho 💀💀💀 fuk Paramount tho definitely watch the show The way luffy would 👁
