*Disclaimer* if you enjoyed eating here, you keep doing you 😌! This is just my (grouchy) opinion and experience at Taquería El Califa de Leon 😅 My reaction to the rest of Michelin's Mexico guide coming soon(ish)! 🔜
I love how simple the tacos look. Fresh tortillas, fresh meat, and a simple salsa. They look so much better than the cheese filled monstrosities that you're used to.
Yo! I just came back last week from a sick 4 day solo trip to Mexico City and it went better than I imagined, a big help from watching your videos. First thing I did when I landed was get some Los cocouyos for lunch that hit the spot. El Cardenal was an incredible place to get breakfast but by far my favorite place was Casa de Tono. The pozole and tostadas were 10/10 especially for that price. Glad to see you posting again
Happy to hear that! La casa de toño is honestly SO good. If you enjoyed it, try Fonda Margarita next time. I like it for very similar reasons (although it's a bit further south).
I will make a top tacos video one of these days! The longer I am here, the more I realize it's all about the above-average tacos that aren't far away and don't have crazy queues 😅
Woooow, I just finished watching and it was no holds barred, you went IN! Lol even the menu got the smoke 🤣 but I feel you. I hate when something is recommended and by the time you get to it the quality is not all it’s hyped to be. I think some restaurants get too comfy with the good reviews ans start to slack. There were many places like that in Oaxaca when I visited. Thanks for the review!
Part of me feels like I need to go back to try it again, but part of me is like "there were too many things wrong, and there's no way they're gonna fix them all"
@@intristangthat’s fair! You can’t expect too much change from a place that doesn’t seem to be getting bad reviews. Unless there’s a nice scandal lol. good luck next time if you do try!
Michelin is desperate for street cred because fine dining is dying. Bourdain did this 20 years ago and its been like 5 years since Pete Wells made the move to review a taco trucks in Queens as a restaurant. Any kind of success can kill a restaurant (or any other venture) but I think that Michelin stars especially cause places to become more mediocre after they get them because seeking and retaining that external validation skews what the whole enterprise is oriented toward.

Haaaaa! I was not expecting you to say it was bad 😂 dang now I def gotta stick around to see what had happenedddd
I'm glad I didn't give it away in my title then! :)
How you gonna show up after a year and just be like “Sup?” lol glad you’re back! Missed your videos bud
Haha, fair point. It took the rage to come out of hiatus. Thank you!

Thanks for the review! I will not be going to this place then cause the google reviews are also not great. Waiting for your other reviews!

El Sirloin de la Roma is probably my top steak taco in CDMX at the moment
For $37 pesos, you can do a lot worse!
+1 to the salsa though review; it lacked flavor and heat for me
even in this (low quality) video, you can see how watery it is!!!

Agree with everything you said. How have you been dude? Also, how did/do you feel about Dune 2 (as a supreme Dune fan)?
Lol I liked my bistek taco
🥺🥸
Damn this place looks dookie
🤣🤣🤣 video don't lie!
