I don’t say this impulsively but this entire solo by Mateus might be the best live solo I’ve ever heard. I’m a huge guitar nerd especially in the Prog/shred genre so there are lots of great players in that realm. But Mateus seems like he can do it all but really concentrates on making sure everything stays melodic. That’s not easy to do. Phenomenal talent this dude.

He’s ahead of our time much as EVH was ground breaking. Any guitarist knows when he was sitting down making it sing was top tier guitar skill. His party tricks looked cool but those chords and harmonics🥹
Just discovered this guy tonight. I am a guitar player myself so I am constantly searching RUclips for new and talented guitarists (or any instrument for that matter) that can intrest me. Because it's the hot players that I look at that make me a better player. And I like this guy already because he can shred, but he mixs it with lush chords with a lot of texture with tons of feelings, saving the blazing speed runs for the right moment. A very interesting player I will be listening more of for sure
