  • From 18 June 2020 to 31 January 2021, the first ever large-scale exhibition drawn from the collection of London’s National Gallery and presented outside of the UK, will take place at the National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo and the National Museum of Art, Osaka. Through an extensive selection of 61 masterpieces from the gallery’s collection, all shown in Japan for the first time, the exhibition gives an overview of the history of European painting by exploring the reciprocal relationship between British and continental European art.
In this online tour, Christine Riding, the Jacob Rothschild Head of the Curatorial Department at the National Gallery, London, guides us through highlights of the exhibition, arranged in seven chapters.
