It is, but only if you like to help the game getting further developed. There are still many areas that need improvement.
You can call police on foot that Will come they have a room in the airport

Hey skarius, i think you must have loaded the freeplay, try to load the missions instead. You should have three different types of shifts and you can choose the one you like the most :)
i tried that and it takes me to the tutorial
oh that is weird, that shouldn't happen if I'm not mistaken, try to reinstall the mod in that case

why would a airport fire department need a stairway truck?
S.A.S Mute to gain access to an aircraft on a taxiway it provides a quick and easy access
+S.A.S Mute if a airplane has an emergency and they are not able to deploy their slide, every Airport Fire Department in the world needs to have a stairway truck to quickly get a stairway to the plane.
Plus "Simple" Airport employees are not trained to respond to emergencies like that, thus you have Airport Firefighters running a stairway truck.
TLDR They are required to have one otherwise their operating authority gets automatically revoked.
