Longs donuts are hands down the best, 100% agree. Have lived other places as well as tried donuts elsewhere and no donuts compare. Spot on with most of the rest. Sugar Cream Pie (born and raised here and never heard anyone call it Hoosier Pie) is I think more of a thing outside of Indianapolis. You can find it here, but its not as big of an Indianapolis thing.

Lol! You two are so funny! That "Hoosier Pie" you had is nothing like a true Sugar Cream Pie. That was a very fancy upscale interpretation of a very common everyday mans pie. No one living outside the "City " would rèfer to it as a Hoosier Pie. You need to explore Wicks Pies in Winchester Indiana to get a better understanding. You should travel to Nicks Diner in Huntington Indiana to try the original home of the tenderloin sandwich, and have a true slice of homemade Sugar Cream Pie. I make a pilgrimage once a year from Tennessee to get this extravaganza! Keep traveling my friends!

What I know of as a sugar cream pie is different than what you had pictured. I grew up in Indiana, and to me what you had pictured I know of as an “old fashioned sugar cream pie.” No Thanksgiving, Christmas, or family reunion is complete without an old fashioned sugar cream pie.
I have never had a dense old fashioned sugar cream pie. The version you had is not representative of what I grew up with. It should not have any cheesecake quality.
It is more of a custard based pie, with a lot of sugar.

14:11 When you say that horseradish loses its punch quickly, just like wasabi does, it reminds me of a video I watched the other day that claims in USA only 1% of our "wasabi" is real wasabi. And supposedly only 5% in Japan is real wasabi. So 99% of wasabi sold and served in USA is actually horseradish. Same plant family as wasabi, but obviously an exponentially cheaper and easier to source plant than real wasabi. I already knew there was almost no real wasabi here. But their claimed number was even worse than I thought.
