This track was my favorite back then in OAU, Ife. Melodious and encouraging in times of little beginning. Dayo Kujore, you made my youthful years worth cherishing.
The Yoruba language is a very rich beautiful language. I do not speak it but by listening to the words and the word play of the artists, not to mention the tonal play and exchanges of the vocals, I have developed a love for it. May I say hello to Dayo, college days friend, and of course, the artist Dayo Kujore.
Evergreen anytime any day. I played it all the way from Tampa, Florida to Albany New York while driving for 24 hours across the Eastern United States when I was in grad school.
What a nostalgic feeling. This and many more songs from the past testify to the extinction of good music, like dinosaur vanished from the earth. The generation of "soapy'' Naira Marley music. Music rest in peace.
This song brings back great memories. Been searching for this song for about a year. I sang it to a couple of my childhood friends until one of them sent me this link. You can't understand how excited I am to be listening to this again.
Ogbon ati Oye was one of my favourite songs in the early 90's . Dayo made a lot of sense in this song, and it was classic. I permanently have it as one of my oldies. RIP DK.
Gbenga Adeboye used this music as background music on one of his live programs. I heard it and loved it right there and there. I've been searching for the artist and the title since around year 2004...... This is 20 years later and I was able to disturb google until I got it today. I'm wowed and extremely happy. I know about Dayo Kujore but I never knew he was the one that sang this music. I had been searching wrongly, thinking it was Shina Peters...😍😍😍
Nostalgia is the bastard son of distance. I still remember my days at the University of Ilorin when this song came out. This is one of the last secular music we enjoyed. God forbid these days you want to make a song without 90% of it in praises. I guess all Nigerians are now Christians. I hope 9ja will get better one day because of our Christianity!!!
Wonderful & Inspirational music.... 90s retrospect big time, I was obsessed & motivated with this particular album back then, I was in my prime time and youthful, Biz booming / money flowing and the music just synchronised my daily mood then as U can imagine.... God bless the uploader...... DAYO KUJORE kudos to U Egbon.
haha, i think, every one who had loving parents, a nice childhood and a nice youth will say the same about his country - i grew up in a tiny (300 people), but long stretched village out in the moor in north germany - i had a splendid, peaceful childhood and an older brother, who was kind of glued to the radio and listened to all the rock greats of the late 60s, all those stoneses, hendrixes and kinkses, providing me with cool music... later he also introduced me to reggae and even took me to a bob marley concert - it changed my life! from the early 80s our ways divided, because i saw king sunny adé in a live performance on german tv in 1983, wow! my brother stayed mostly with garage rock, while i went more into reggae, calypso and african music - saw king sunny two times live after that and it was gorgeous, one time even in our little town here - almost unbelievable! that´s how i came to this music - although i don´t understand the lyrics, i understand the musical vibes and love them - hypnotic and good, yay!!! nice to know that you are doing well over there! love and greetings from germany 🙋♂️ what a nice record, surely a new favorite of mine... :-)
was a lil baby girl wen my dad used to play dis at home. I so miss childhood, I searched for it to play on my wedding to dance with my dad again. thanks for uploading.
I was in secondary school, Anwar ul Islam college precisely in those years. Kujore's booking office was somewhere around capitol road on the way to my school. Listened to this music and some others in the same category. Talking of years far back as '89 -' 92. GOD bless U sir. I now reside in the U.S. and your kind of music saw me thr' my tough days back home..U ROCK..
I'm almost brought to tears as this song is giving me nostalgic feeling of the past, this is wonderful experience, I do not think things could get as they used to be back in the day. God bless Dayo Kujore for being a blessing to our generation and special thanks to the up loader of this beautiful album...
I remember listening to this all the way to Lagos from Ibadan for my entrance exams into Chrisland College Idimu Lagos in 1993. Classic, along with Shina Peters' Experience. Those were the days.
I really miss the Nigeria of this era. More of good, honest, trustworthy, patriotic Nigerians were around then. God Bless Egba omo Alake for this upload.
