Reading through the comments I came away with the thought that once in this country tribe was secondary to our basic humanity. We were one in music, in national aspirations and goodwill to one another. Can’t we have that nation back? I am Yoruba, but the music that turned my life around permanently and irreversibly was the Voice of Cross by brother Lazarus and Emmanuel, Igbos. My cousin bought the album in Aba while coming from Calabar where his parents were living and presented it to me as Christmas gift. That was 1984. I’m not sure how many albums alter the course of people’s lives the way this album altered mine. Fundamentally we’re same people under God with a mandate to build a nation that will be the pride of Africa and the black race everywhere. We have the education, native intelligence, intellectual drive, energy, resources and manpower to do this. May the Lord restore us again to our first love.

The people who killed that Nigeria are those who would like to lay claim to other people's region, while not even allowing any reciprocity in their region. These talk about One-Nigeria, but it is all talk. It is only one Nigeria when they're buying up and laying claims to other people's land. Nigeria can NEVER be one as long as we have that thinking, attitude, and behavior.

Hello. I am a white man. I am 58. I grew up in England but my parents are from Ireland. I don't believe in God but I try to believe in people. Your tribe, your skin, your language, your passport, your God... it makes no difference to me. One world, one people. But whenever I meet a Nigerian I always tell them how much I love the music of the Chief Commander. Sometimes I tell people who aren't from Nigeria about him too. If I can listen to this man sing and play his guitar every day I can smile.

When I was growing up in the 70s my dad will play his turn table record player with songs especially in the likes of Obey. We always murmured to ourselves wondering what our father was listening to. Fast forward to now...I can't believe Obey music is what I listen to on occasions. What baffles me is the fact that I know his songs word to word! Obviously daddy wasn't the only one resonating with the music then. Thank you sir for sharing your classical talent with us!

This is by far my favorite Obey song and probably among my best 10 songs of all time. I love Obey, even more as a child. I grew up to this song as a boy from Edo state and instantly felt a bond inside each time I heard the music play. It's still fresh on my mind how I would stand still to listen to the entire song on my way before continuing on any errand for my dad. In those days, what a bright moment it was to sit around my Dad while he interprets the meaning of this and many of Obey;s songs. Truly a legend! When they say, "good old days", this is what they mean! Thank God for Obey!!

Evangelist Ebenezer Remilekun Aremu Obey-Fabiyi's songs and lyrics have been my soul food since my childhood in Nigeria. Outside the shores of our dear nation, inside my lonely and extremely cold room at the North-West University, Mafikeng, South Africa, Baba Obey keeps me warm and connected with home with his melodies on-line. God will continue to bless you sir! -Adewole Adeleke.

Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi's songs have brought me up morally and psychologically from my days as a toddler until now. I have never come across any other musician that has impressed my imaginations like Obey Commander has done either local or foreign. He is indeed a God-sent. I pray to God to grant him long life and good health.

I grew up with Chief Ebenezer Obey’s music. He was the best musician of his time; that is my deduction from his music. He catered to individual and group needs. He was not bias! I am his number 1 fan. I do enjoy his songs up till now. Anyone can search them online. As a Christian, he was exemplary. Words of his music are soothing, true to the core and prayerful. I thank God For Haven given Chief Ebenezer Obey the talent to reach so many people positively through his songs. God bless you. Amen🙏🏾

Good day everyone everything said about this great and iconic artist. Am from Delta state but born& bred in Lagos. What's amazing about his music is whatever your situation in life you'll definitely find an album from obey's collection that will be uplifting from his composition & lyrics. Furthermore when am listening to his music it reminds me of the good old days in Lagos not what it is today.
