Great juju music. Nostalgic. Akerele street Surulere 1975. 8 years old then. Those guitar vibes at the intro were laid in my genes. Oh maeeeen! This music in engrained in me.
That intro really superb and classic... such string play make me love chinese song so much even when I don't hear what they are singing, never knew that we as well play such tune in the past...
Grew up in Surulere off Adeniran Ogunsanya....A quiet cul de sac called- Adeniyi Jakande Close. That stadium bridge was built right in our presence and was a playground until it completed. There was no barrier to climb and run on it before it was fully completed. Same age in 1975. Great time to grow up in Lagos, Nigeria.
@@Bizz2k Sure it was a great time to grow up. Dele Abiodun, Ebenezer Obey, Orlando Owoh, Enugu Rangers, Stationary Stores, Honda Benly Super...ah the times...
Nothing like old music, it`s like a terrapy to me it`s refreshes my soul and body, i always feel relax and very happy whenever i listen to any old music, this is the time of cartridge and music plate and cassette, this is the time musician thing very well to compose music, this is the time people behave well in the society.
Lived at abule okuta Bariga when this album was released in 1975. This album brought back great memories of those time. Tolani, Yeside, Mommy Dauda, Yekeme, Ndidi(Queen) Oyenbuke😅, Ada, Azuka, peter & paul, Eze, all brilliant chaps accedemical. They used to dance to this music anytime my mom played it on her radiogram back then. @ house No 3, Lasisi lane. Abuja okuta Bariga. We were all tenants in the house.
This LP was waxed at a time Juju music was at its best and unparalleled. I am fortunate to belong to this era when we had notable players like Emperor Pick Peters, King Sunny Ade, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Idown Animashaun, Hauja Bello, Tony Adex, Bob Aladeniyi, and General Prince Adekunle. Wish Juju would be revived soon.
You are right @Same Oris...as a matter of fact Tunde Nightingale was a little of older generate and saw IK Dairo's brand as a younger brand that will soon fade way.
This track conjures up images of enchanted realms made familiar only by persuasive rhythm, pulsating beat, and any number of idiophones. This is awesome.
This song is making me to remember my childhood days, Primary School days, my very senior aunties and my senior brothers. Time cannot be rolled to the back. Kudos, Dele Abiodun
Oh my God , i was growing when this record was released with the thought i was listening to KSA, . Recently i met him in ibadan Jogor centre. What a nostalgia.
i wan you guys to watch those who loves old music, the way they behave in the society. they don't rush in doing things, they think before doing, most of this old music teaches patience, endourance, and encourage you, even warn you of so many dangers ahead of you. but see what is going on in the society now, no more good music, OMA SE OOOO.
I was twelve years old when this music was produced. I can hear some bitterness in between then in 9JA music. If you listen to American music in those days...they co-produced. For example I was surprised to see Kevin Spencer (Dynasty) playing keyboards for Shalamar..SOLAR records. Abanije..stop it. Covid-19 has stopped it anyway
I just love his subtle sweet voice. His music is relaxing and really easy to dance.💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🪘💃🪘💃🪘💃🪘💃🪘💃💃🪘💃🪘💃💃🪘. I love his use of local musical instruments, gangan, sekere, agogo sound guitar 🎸 ♥ ❤ 🎶
Dele Abiodun yu dd a very good job Pls dele abiodun come out again, yu still hv more to give people especially dis time around in election period we need yu more to develop our country i love yu love king sunny ade I'm one of ur fans ever since wen yu ar stayin jn sungas at igboigunu on way to bajulayie road, come out emperor pik piter is plan to come out as well, both of yu ar still more to give us
It pains me as Dele Abiodun stop singing at his prime age, it was a sort of inspiration to us when we are in secondary schools in those days, to me is like buried talents,
This reminds me of when I was child and my parents would play this music in the background, using the old tape players. This is the closest I will get to my roots.
Its just amazing since decade, this sound keep rocking!I dont know why the younger generation left this for the total madness! When I listen to the current Nijah mainstream music I m about to cry and I keep asking myself what went wrong to miss the road! Is any chance to see any emerging young talent to promote this old school Juju music?.....All the way from Senegal...Greetings!
Our traditional rulers, being custodians of our culture have failed! They have allowed English language to very gradually be replacing our local languages. Songs like this can only be sung when a person has a mastery of Yoruba and it can only be truly appreciated and enjoyed by listening ears that have a genuine and proper grip of Yoruba language. That's something that is currently going into extinction in Yoruba land. Most can hardly speak fluent Yoruba without mixing English!
I don't believe this. The first time i heard this recording was in 2001, on a Nigerian radio station in London. I had no idea that it was released in 1976. And i had no idea that it was Dele Abiodun who recorded it. It would be interesting to find out many copies this record sold at the time.
Olden days music's are therapy. They are intellectual property that must be handed down to the coming generations as legacy guaranteed.

Isn’t it amazing that it’s almost 50yrs ago that this was released and still a rare gem worth listening.
I met Baba this morning. Very humbling experience for me. He will live long for us. These are living legends of Nigeria.
Very lucky, I wish to also meet him, such a great talent 👏
I am so glad i was born in the generation of listening to good impactful music.....
Yetunde Fetuga me too oo. ..Still enjoying n listening to it 2018....What a gifted guy among other beautiful musical we have in 9ja
That name Fetuga sounds like an Ikorodu family name, right?

I WAS A VERY YOUNG LAD WHEN THIS MUSIC CAME OUT. THANKS FOR KEEPING IT FOR US. KEEP IT UP.
Juju music is the most sweetest music so far,
Lived at abule okuta Bariga when this album was released in 1975. THIS MUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY BEST. LOVELY.
Old school, refreshes! Juju for yesterday, today and the future.
Admiral is extremely good. What packed him off quite early was the KSA style he adopted. KSA energy is from another planet.
Music of my early years. When men were boys.
Melody at its BEST.

+Oluyemi Ogunsanya You forgot Tunde Nightingale
Tunde Nightingale was not in this group. He belong to the set of IK Dairo
You are right @Same Oris...as a matter of fact Tunde Nightingale was a little of older generate and saw IK Dairo's brand as a younger brand that will soon fade way.
There is one lady too but her name escapes me for the moment.
We also had Expensive Olubi, Emperor Wale Olateju, Uncle Toye Ajagun etc. Nostalgic!
This track conjures up images of enchanted realms made familiar only by persuasive rhythm, pulsating beat, and any number of idiophones. This is awesome.
WOW!!! This is marvelous. It reminds me of those years. Keeping playing. May God protect ya Adawa King
Great music! The lyric, the song, the instruments is incomparable. ..play on. We love it.
The oldies music is the best, better than the modern day music. The lyrics is awesome and meaningful
This song is making me to remember my childhood days, Primary School days, my very senior aunties and my senior brothers. Time cannot be rolled to the back. Kudos, Dele Abiodun
Thanks for giving us this music, it makes me remembered my young time . Then the music have meaning not all the rubbish noise of today calling music.
My all time favourite from a living legend...Pound for Pound this gem rival anything his rivals did...A masterpiece no doubt released in 1975.
Dele Abiodun Adawa super star God is Great
His "rivals" such as Obey and Sunny and even Adekunle? Can you see the similarities between the lyrics and those of Sunny? But who is copying who?
Remind me of those days when Nigeria was great
The instrument played at the beginning make me think I was listening to Chinese string play, what a great intro.....
His style of guitar solo and dynamic arrangement of all instruments in his music was what made him unique.
Oh my God , i was growing when this record was released with the thought i was listening to KSA, . Recently i met him in ibadan Jogor centre. What a nostalgia.
OLAWALE OLADAPO Falade same with me, my thought then was that l was listening to KSA.
The guitar works are similar to Sunnys
Exactly, very similar guitar works, but different voice.
What a wonderful LP. It is a great music of our time. Still as solid as 1975 when the album was released.
Thanks for giving us this music. It a pity our young ones are no more listening to educative music.
This was when proper music was being played and produced without today's useless computerized music. God bless you Adawa Super!
Am so happy to have this album here on RUclips.
This are the real music of yester yester years, am enjoying the lyrics and the beat.

Yes, he does but only at parties. He no longer records albums.
