Great Job young man! I followed you step by step and I removed it you made it so very simple direct and to the point! I hope you go far in life keep your eyes on God and He will direct your footsteps, work hard and your dreams will come true! God bless you and your family!
Top notch video Victor. Hope all is well. Thank you for getting straight to the point in a very detailed way. Gonna try rocking without the guard on my 2620 and see how I like it. I don't see why I would not.
Thank you for doing this. I think the guard makes sense, but I feel forced to remove it because of that auto-cut blade on the guard that keeps the string so short..l makes no sense. Again, thank you. This is appreciated.
The only thing that item guards is long string! It does not prevent anything else. Excess string can lead to smoked clutches and overheated coils. Thats why it voids warranty when you remove the "knife holder"!
I just wanted to commend you on your video that was step-by-step you showed all the details on the parts that was awesome it made it so easy to take this guard off
Thank you for such an excellent video. you made it easy to watch and very easy to follow. We were laughing when we saw you appear to be looking around nervously. I said to myself, this kid is looking around like he is hoping his boss does not see him taking apart the company machine 😂😂😂
Yes!! Now i can cut grass in half the time. That guard keeps the line too short so im working twice as hard. I bought a face shield because the glasses alone isnt good enough protection from rocks or debris from hitting my face
A 9/64 allen wrench worked for the star bits for me and it was a hair loose so if yours are super tight they may strip. But it technically worked cause i couldnt find the star bit
I used RedMax trimmers 30 years ago w/out guards. I’ve had my Echo for 25 years with a guard. The guard is gone tomorrow morning before I trim and mow!
Taking the guard off also removes the cutter that keeps your line at a pre set length on my ECHO that is 17" without the guard there's nothing to cut the string. I see many "professionals" that remove them, I'm curious how they regulate the length, personally I keep my guard on it helps keep the debris off me plus keeps the string to a manageable length...and this might be important to some... taking it off voids the warranty but I fail to see how they (ECHO) would ever know.
Good job bro... yea man Guards are lame... to the point bro, get it done bro.. dont play dow, issall good yo! I dont be learning alot from some vids but i learned alot from this yo video yo, u know? this be is be good video yo. kee-pit realz.

Nice job. Highly informative.
Thanks a lot. I did this and holy crap! So much lighter and weed so much faster! ❤❤❤
Thanks, dude. My yard is pretty much a jungle and the guard is a bit of a crutch. I’ve got a face guard and goggles, so I really don’t need it. 🙏

Great video! I was able to go out in garage and knock it out quick!
Thanks man. I couldn’t figure it out on my own.

I wonder if putting some grease on the gear before putting it back together would be helpful.

Your trimmer head looks a lot deeper than mine. Allowing for more string. I’ll have to look into that. I’m using 095.
