I love her so much she makes me laugh and cry at the same time. I can't explain the joy hearing her brings me. She hits me that hard. ❤ One of the best ever with a beautiful spirit. 🎶
The lyrics to this song are among the most beautifully romantic things I've ever heard. "Make me a room where I'll bloom out of season"... just sends me.
FABULOUS Lady Ella! A beautiful rendition of a marvelous tune. Music by John Williams; Lyrics by Marilyn & Alan Bergman for the 1967 movie "Fitzwilly," staring Dick Van Dyke and Barbara Feldon.
Ella had a presence, undeniable , unbelievably talented , when she sings this song it lifts me to the blue , blue skies , she takes , if only for a little while , away from such a dark world ( my parents are gone lost my 2 brothers one to aids the other to suicide) so I sort of know what I’m talking about -but with all her God given talent Ella had some dark days herself , with horrific problems with diabetes that debilitated her terribly ( amputating both her legs below the knee, debilitating loss of sight) but that voice , that amazing voice, she was gifted where she could hit 4 high octaves which is quite rare, that voice , one of my all time favorites , so when the world starts closing up on you put on a little “Ella” she’ll brighten your day, and all those dark clouds will disappear. Thank you Ella, for having been “ one of the great ones “ along with Frank, Tony, Sammy, Dino, now your free of pain and singing to the angels high, high in the heavens how lucky they are!!!!!
@@rhythmfield I've been listening to the album version which is a clearer recording and Neal Hefti could well be the man based on what I'm hearing in the detail.
Hoo boy, it doesn't get any better than that! Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie's Orchestra - heaven on earth!
You can see why "The Society Of Singers" Award was named after this Lady - THE BEST and in a class of one.

Both legends! Count Basie is the all-time best big band and Ella knows how to phrase a song.

Anyone know who's responsible for the arrangement?
Good question - I just did a major search via Google and could not find out. Hefti? Holman?
