The best movie , the best cast , the best music..... this film is all about our Life. All about one reality of little girl who just went through hard times . found her life, her answers to the questions in book sheets ...every sheet of book is one story....and every word is a life.... !!
I don’t usually think that this music sounds like John Williams because most of his music is big and grand while this is mainly just a soft piano. But I have spent the past few hours just listening to John Williams soundtracks and so now I’m very much aware of how his music sounds so now it does sound like John Williams to me. It sounds more like his Schindler’s List music or the quieter parts of Star Wars rather than the big horns and drums that play in most of Star Wars or Indiana Jones. John Williams has such a gift with music. He can make whatever is going on screen into music. So with Star Wars the music is dramatic, exciting and intense. The Book Thief on the other hand is quieter and much more soft. But it has such a heartbreaking sound to it at some points. Which works when comparing Star Wars and The Book Thief.
Amazing soundtrack never get tired of listening to it!! I do it over and over!!! It takes me to places. I wish they could play this at my funeral whenever I leave this earth 🌍 🎼 love the movie, love the book and love the sound track !!! 💯
Listening to this masterpiece reminds me of just one moment in life where i felt completely free of stress and worry, just for that one moment in my 52 years on this planet. That one moment out of ordinary life. Dont get me wrong, life is great but it reminds me of just one moment of where i thought "life is fantastic"
This is is my favorite movie and favorite book. It’s so beautiful and powerful yet heartbreaking and painful. I love both the book and the movie so much so I read and watch both a whole lot (I actually just finished reading it again for like the sixth time) but I always end up sobbing and then I’m depressed and heartbroken for the rest of the day or the next few days
I felt that Rudy’s death was very similar to Jack’s in Titanic, only Rudy died in a much more painful, violent and brutal way... either way, I believe we all agree when I say those two were both heroes.
They were both awesome boys who had so much potential and so much they wanted to live for and do and they both ended up dying because of horrible, cruel, unfair circumstances in their lives 😭
I never watched the movie but fun fact: This was the 1st movie composed by John Williams since Memoirs of a Geisha in 2005 that wasn't directed by Steven Spielberg
why does sadness make us happy on the inside ? i dont mean in the schadenfreude way . i mean true moments when one empathizes with another life form . even a dogs sad eyes made me feel . its like the soul is a piece of iron who likes to be beaten in order to become a piece of steel . a good part of sadness is very good for the soul . empathy made us better people , in romanian we have a saying when someone is too sad we say he cries even for the neighbors goat . funny note on that , i think that means you can empathize with the neighbors loss .
I know what you mean. I love watching movies set during the Holocaust but I'm not a sadist or anything. I don't think there's a word for it in English but it's such an interesting feeling. Well said, friend.
@@ailisfaleiro3963 I read about some psychology tests that proved we humans can even feel for and empathize with the "idea " of another human or group of humans. We can feel for fictional beings as well as we feel for real beings. And I mean the entire range of feelings. Ever felt sad or happy for a story character? There are however some true stories that will always impress us. The nine eleven incident , if you ever watch the the clip made by someone who was very close to the blocks, in the moment the blocks started falling he was grabbed by another person and shoved into a store. That will always impress me .
a film about loss about what will never be, of course it is implied that the boy would have become the lover to the girl, but for fate, and that she realizes this in the final scene, of what will never be
“...and the boy, whose hair remained the color of lemons forever.“ ❤

Actually in the book “Death” the narrator told us the he’s going to die at some point in the book so it was even harder to read he’s death scene

Rudy's death is much more tragic in my opinion...especially the way it is depicted in the book...

John is a very magical man.

Thank you for uploading, just superb!
This is a great soundtrack. Listening to it now, it is very similar to Shape of Water in style, instrumentation and mood.
Alexander Desplat said that his biggest influence was John Williams.
Magic Williams.............as usual!

One of my lovely songs💜
Música que transmite uma paz de espírito. Linda!

Is amazing that song !!!!
this the first movie i cry on it
The emotional tunes at 4:09 & 11:44 remind me a lot of *E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial* and a little bit of *Superman (1978)* also! (Same composer too)
yeah it sounds very similar!
It kinda reminds me the boy in striped pajamas when Bruno Und Shmuel were in the gas chamber and they holded hands😭
Profundo ❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The great Oscar Wilde wrote about this in De Profundis.
Great comment and great replies!
Música que acalma a alma! Lindíssima!
Gosto muito desse clássico
I think this is by far John Williams's best score, next to Geisha and Schindler's List.
Amo esse filme
Une très belle musique à caractère symphonique.
