I always wanted there to be an adult version of Scooby-Doo. And there's nothing wrong with doing something different. But it still has to be done right. And from what I'm seeing...I'm just down right disappointed - because this animated spin-off series of the famous Scooby-Doo franchise...sucks completely! This is both bad writing and woke/meta to its fullest. It is full of terribles jokes, characters, and plots. And I obviously can't forget about the pointless race-swapping, or the unnecessary gay romance, or the constant attempt of dated jokes. This whole thing was like a bitter resentment to the whole fandom. The humor in the show is just hateful and insensitive, instead of funny and insightful. There is absolutely nothing to like or enjoy about this show - especially the main character (or any other character to be honest), as they are all downgraded. There is no character development or growth throughout the entire first season. And so no one learns anything, or really pays for the vile things they have done (at least when it comes to Velma). And I get that people hate watched it, but some people simply watched it because curiosity just got the better of them. And because of woke culture (which I strongly despice), if you don't like anything terrible done by a woman, it means that you're sexist and are attacking them - in short terms, agree and like everything we do, and keep your personal opinions to yourself. And while I support feminism...I despice feminist; as many of them aren't looking for equality, they just want control and to vent out their frustrations and blame men for everything (including things that they themselves are at fault for). Man or woman, everyone is going to face struggles...the life of men isn't significantly easier. Norville (a.k.a Shaggy) is now an African American whose sole purpose is to simp over Velma, and basically be her personal tool/punching bag; Daphne is now an East Asian American who is always bitching and whining, and is basically unappreciative of everything she has; Fred is still a Caucasian male, but is so spoiled, cuddled and dimwitted, that he is absolutely helpless when it comes to even the simplest of things; and finally there's Velma, who is now a South Asian American, as well as being entitled, possessive, controlling, manipulative, narcissistic, hypocritical, judgemental, sexist, and racist. To make matters worse, all three characters practically become obsessed with winning Velma's affection and attention - but why, when there is absolutely nothing to love (let alone like) about her. And Velma having a thing for a woman, doesn't make her gay...it makes her bisexual - because she's had crushes on men before any of this mess. The adults are also no better, heck, they might actually be worse because they're the adults, and should know better - especially Fred's parents: having a father who is completely disappointed on how spoiled and helpless his own son turned out despite the fact that he is the reason for it by giving Fred all the chances money can buy and never allowing Fred to solve things on his own; and Fred's mother who also cuddled him to the point where he sees their overbearing and unhealthy relationship as normal. Velma's father is also no better, as her father cares a lot more about his career and spoiling his much younger girlfriend, than to guide or advice his own daughter. Norville's dad is a bad therapist and a beta male, who always allows others to walk all over him. And Daphne's adoptive lesbian parents are completely incompetent detectives (and it's not even funny). Velma is in no way a sympathetic character or victim...she's the real villain of the story. It really makes you appreciate the original gang even more. They were a group of real friends from different backgrounds, and had different strengths and weaknesses that helped them out of almost any challenge they got themselves in. Fred may have been a dumb jock, but he was still creative and reliable; Daphne may have been slightly superficial, but she was still friendly and trustworthy; Velma may have been a socially awkward know-it-all, but she still helped out in anyway she could; and Shaggy and Scooby may have been complete fraidy-cats, but they were always willing to do their parts for the friends. This show really only gets points for it's animation quality. And while I do enjoy a nude scene, these girls are in high school - why not just put them in college, and make them eighteen and over? Plus, when characters are called out on their toxicity and when others finally stand up for themselves...the show ends up making them look like the bad guys for doing so. Why couldn't the show take ideas or inspirations from more dark and serious material - like the "Scream" franchise, or the "Saw" franchise, or the "Halloween" franchise, or the "Hannibal Lecter" franchise, or even "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" and "Citizen X".
To this point Darzii its just a filthathon. Everybody is trying to see who can make the absolute worst piece of shit imaginable so anyone who can top velma is practically a hero to this point. Not that topping a pile of shit is anything to write home about.
Velma is one of those who uses well established IP to get attention. They don't care about Scooby Doo, all they care about is SocioPolitics. It is a shame cuz some animation is just well made. Good animation doesn't fix bad writing tho.
I'm pretty sure in the old cartoons somewhere shaggys real name is mentioned once and I could see it being a name like this. Asked my hubby and he says it was Velma that figured it out and it really was norvill
god...why velma still exists...damn....it just sucks ...darn ....why the creator continue doing it ... it's pretty much guilt pleasure for the masochists
You're being misinformed. Velma was created by Charlie Grandy, not Mindy Kaling. She is only a VA and a producer. And she only wrote 1 episode of the first season. The character is not about her, so stop trying to make her look bad to defend a man.
@@do-not-subscribe Mindy IS one of the two creators you idiot, and she is the main cursor for the plot your bullshit will not work here, that creep is a racist ass ugly whore whit deep envy/fetichism of white people.
I think it got a second season was because all the hate watching that happened and in the second season (this is spoilers and idk if its true or not i haven't and won't watch Velma) is that velma gets killed by scrappy doo
I have seen theories that this was supposed to be something else entirely but Warner Bros. would only green light it if another pre existing IP was shoehorned in. It wouldn't surprise me if this theory is either true or false because this show is just an example of what companies do nowadays
To be fair they probably had to come out with a season two because they have contracts but even then this is just my guess and they shouldn’t have said yes to doing something like this in the first place…
Until this video, I had absolutely no idea that such a series exists at all (especially since rather Scooby and Sha'a Gi, pardon Shaggy, are the figureheads) :O
I watched both seasons to see if its as bad as everyone says and yes,the first season isn't the best, especially the first episode but as the show is progressing it lowing its bad sexual jokes, bad dark humor and focuses on velmas hallucinations and the case she tries to resolve it also shows a lot of things happening at the same time for some reason which is kinda giving me a headache but the jokes are not as bad not as sexual the characters are developing and their relationships get ok-ish,my personal opinion is that the cases they written for the show are not that bad and could work if the people behind the writing would work to make it more suitable for characters that are underage
Norville is apart of shaggy’s name if I recall, depending on the variation, shaggy’s family is the one who funds the Mystery Inc! Not Daphne or her family, Shaggy actually comes from riches, bc look at his uncle, very dapper and well dressed man with a monocle on and a cool mustache! 😂
The show is passable; I've seen season 1 and prefer to stick with the original. The new reboot is a letdown-I get what they tried to do, but it falls flat. In my view, they should have delved into polyamory and let the mystery gang explore relationships amongst themselves.
Shaggy's real name is Norville but he always goes by his nickname in the other iterations. If it's not broke don't fix it, but I guess Velma didn't get the memo

Well we are going to have Velma season 2
Her mother saw a toddler walking on the freeway, drove a mile past, and then she disappeared with her snacks.
Season 2? Who the hell asked for this?
I think a lot of people are just hating the show cause that’s the trend not the greatest show but it definitely no just stale toilet water
It’s too mean-spirited to be enjoyable for me. And Velma never gets humbled, so there’s no one to root for here.
Failma
Can't wait to hatewatch season 2 with everyone else on the 25th!
I'm pretty sure in the old cartoons somewhere shaggys real name is mentioned once and I could see it being a name like this. Asked my hubby and he says it was Velma that figured it out and it really was norvill
You know the show has issues when the good ol 3am story making has better storytelling than an entire studio
Shaggy isn’t a stoner, he’s a beatnik
Again I ask why
i wanted to die after watching somone react to this shit
The only light at the end of this long dark tunnel is that we get another season of Fred being the best character
And Inside Job was cancelled.
Also captain fall
7% is generous honestly.
god...why velma still exists...damn....it just sucks ...darn ....why the creator continue doing it ...
it's pretty much guilt pleasure for the masochists
It's Mindy dressed as Velma because if it wasn't the case nobody would give this show a second glance.
Scooby doo is one best cartoon that never dies out, that was until Mindy got hold made all about her.
Norville is shaggy’s real name. Shaggy is just a nickname.
If it was so great, then where are all the feminists and LGBT people it was tailored for?
You know that only this Cartoon hits rock bottom dosnt mean that all Cartoons now are bad?
Yeah! Sadly more and more cartoons are following this pattern
You forgot one Thing. Nowadays way more Streaming Channels exists.
Until this video, I had absolutely no idea that such a series exists at all (especially since rather Scooby and Sha'a Gi, pardon Shaggy, are the figureheads) :O
these are the factions that we follow 4:57
So did Maxwell Atoms and C.H. Greenblatt.
Norville is Shaggy's real name. Shaggy is a nickname
Velma was bad, but at least it isn't Big Mouth
SO REAL
No! Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss ruined cartoons forever! Velma was the final straw that broke the camel's back!
Are you serious? Vivziepop’s work is top notch! To compare it to this piece of shit is insulting!
That's false! Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss did not ruin cartoons! I love both of them!
At least Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are better than Velma
@@djstarkidmashups8536 All 3 of those cartoons suck
@@DylanMason-sy1ur Only Velma
norville rogers is shaggy's real name
Shaggy's name was Norville in the original as well.
The show is passable; I've seen season 1 and prefer to stick with the original. The new reboot is a letdown-I get what they tried to do, but it falls flat. In my view, they should have delved into polyamory and let the mystery gang explore relationships amongst themselves.
I DID NOT expect to be blindsided by the Dead Space 3 meme in the first 20 seconds in a cartoon vid but I love it. Had to double take
Shaggy's real name is Norville but he always goes by his nickname in the other iterations. If it's not broke don't fix it, but I guess Velma didn't get the memo
Velma is the new GTA I guess worse than gta oh god fr 😂
