Wow, you are going to be busy! That European linen fabric is beautiful. Oddly enough I've never had a needle book or a needle keeper. I guess I've just never gotten around to making one. I have a pincushion with three different sizes of tomatoes stacked on top of each other and many of my needles live there. I really love the idea,, however, of having crushed walnut shells in a pin cushion to always keep your pins and needles sharp. I use those little strawberries filled with emery to occasionally sharpen my needles, but I really like the idea of keeping things sharp. Last year I went though all my pins and threw away any bent ones and sharpened all the rest; it wasn't fun but necessary. Your pin cushion is would make life much easier and my pins would always be sharp.
It's been a couple of weeks since I've sewn anything. My cutting table has had a repainted treadle base sitting on it waiting to be gold leafed. The gold leaf is finished and it just needs a little touch up painting and it will be ready for the top to be made. I've not been motivated to sew, but have the fabric ready to cut out some new foldable shopping bags when the cutting table is free. I am so tired of seeing my current ones; they are 8 years old and wearing like iron, but I want a new set. New ones would at least give me a little joy when I grocery shop.
I hope you've recovered from your trip and are enjoying all your new yarns and fabrics and kits.
@@nadinewoods6971 I’m always so busy. Last night I finally washed some fabrics to try to make a version of those cottons tops. I found a piece of batik I’d purchased for something, who knows what! I think I’m going to use it for a shirt. I just need to get the fabric softer; will work on that today.
It always takes me awhile to get back into the grove of sewing. As for the needle cases, I’ve always wanted to try these but would never part with money for them. But they will be used. People that have them love them.
Hope you are getting back into sewing. It’s feeling more like fall here😊
@@bluegrassdreams2seams510 If it's not a lot of trouble, maybe you could mention your methods for softening fabrics in a future video. I've heard of using Coke, but I've never tried softening fabric.
I love the idea of a batik top. I have a New Look blouse in batik that I wear all the time. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!
Well that video was just so sweet! It was a great trip to Wisconsin! I will never forget it. Thanks for meeting us there.
@@bernadineanderson2679 I had a great time😊
