Courage is knowing what to be afraid of. I’ve been at this for 70 years we all stand on the shoulders of giants. This work has put new wind in my sails !
You’ve inspired me to use charcoal and graphite for the very first time. It’s amazing that for someone who’s never used this medium before, it has, within a very short period of time, become my most favored way of drawing. Thank you for opening a whole new world of possibilities for me as a growing artist.
What a beautiful blend of poetry, drawing, and music. Incredibly inspiring and I am grateful for you sharing this with the world. Love and peace from my corner of the world.
Yours is my favorite art channel. Because of you, I’ve begun enjoying charcoal drawing/sketching again. So, I’m developing my own style of expression with it. Thanks, Josh. You’re helping me so much and that you’re a Christian is evident.
There are some amazing portrait artists out there, but its the spontaneity and movement within yours that really brings it to life. Im just utterly addicted to your channel.
Iv been drawing with charcoal for over 2 weeks now and I love it,sometimes I think to much and it doesn't come out great but if i just let it flow it comes out amazing.
Your video just made me cry, thank you for that moment of experiencing this emotion from art. It´s been a long time since I cried while enjoying art. 🙏
An absolute beautiful piece I got goosebumps the whole video while watching! The quality is breathtaking! Thanks for the progress of this piece and sharing! Love you too! Cheers!
OMG this made my day! You are a god damn poet! 🥹🤌 This is sooo beautiful. I'm not just talking about the drawing, I'm rather talking about his words. So wisely spoken 🤌 So true 💪 So motivating. "...out of chaos can come the most beautiful things.." Isn't that was evolution is doing for billions of years, starting from chaos and creating beautiful nature again and again. This little line tells so much! 👍 What a video! A little piece of "perfection" in our fucked up world. Thank you so much for that! 🙏
I am NOT an artist by any means, But your talent is so captivating!!!! You have such a beautiful and undeniable gift!!!! I only hope one day I will be able to purchase a personal drawing by You! Keep giving the world beautiful inspirations! Peace and Blessings!
Oh! My goodness dear Mr.Mad Charcoal, you immediately created a face from the first rubbing in the charcoal at fast paste, so quickly , I couldn’t believe how your efforts created this beautiful face xxx then by using some rolled up sticky tape was it?? You created the light shades to complete the beautiful face xxx thank you so much for sharing your great gift of artistic talent xxx love ❤ helen ❤
Very beautiful, thanks for sharing. For me, charcoal is chthonic. Fascinating but chthonic and it should be respected as such, for what it is. I don’t transform it beyond its dark fascination. I respect it for what it is. I don’t fight it. I use other mediums to make the end result beautiful. Blend energies, light with its colours and darkness.
Brilliant work such a remarkable face of beauty appearing , even with your fast vicious strokes of charcoal drawing you are a remarkable artist !! Thank you for sharing your wonderful MAD Strokes of charcoal you drew , you created a beautiful face !!! Love ❤❤❤❤ Helen
I just started using charcoal and its super unpredictable. Using the Andrew Lomis method has helped ALOT and finding channels like yours, helps to motivate me to move forward and keep going with it. Thank you!!
Watching you create these amazing drawings makes my heart sing. I love your work. I'm an artist in New Zealand. I would love to have you in my studio if you ever wanted to come for a holiday.
Thanks so much for this thérapie ...using intuition...black and white fusion...the Brain stay at the Middle of my eyes...i fell good ..deply on the white...no scare...every thing IS possible...the most difficult is to stop ... and tasted the satisfaction ... Good Vibe 🤙from France
It makes me laugh when I see you throw or smudge charcoal on your initial approach to the paper. When I went to art school, I would stand there and nervously start to put lines on my paper, then attempt to rub them out. One day, a new art teacher watched me for a second and then rubbed her hand across my drawing. WHAT....she smiled at me and said, don't be afraid of the blank paper and if you feel nervous, just do what I did. Wow, it freed me up. Love your work
Keep your drawings into Visitation Musium ❤ your drawings makes me belive theres no exact perfectionism within but embracing the imperfect line of life ❤
I have no difficulty drawing expressively with charcoal. I do faces quite well, but I want to do "portraits", & a portrait is, for me, above all else, a likeness of the subject. This is where I struggle. Any tips?
I just found your channel and I am totally blown away. I am an older artist and would like to know more about your medium. what paper do you draw on. The charcoal///is it a stick and level of softness? I will continue to follow you. and learn more. thanks
Gestural. In other words, it's all about how the artist conducts his/her own movements to orchestrate the movement within the drawing, leading to a dynamic portrait.
Love this one! Did you use natural charcoal to start with? Because, when I'm using panpastel over natural charcoal, it doesn't stick, it just glides over the charcoal and wipes it off. How do you manage please? Warm greetings from Belgium and thanks in advance!
I would love to know what surface he is working on and what he is using erase with... Anyone? I'd love to try but with the price of various papers and canvases it could be an expensive learning curve. Any tips..?
Hey! Had you ever tried drawing before? I had! And going freely with the charcoal helps relax your mind. And it also can help get stress off, too! And Guess What? IS THIS YOUR DRAWING?!? Is This Your Art Style?!? Dude, you gotta remember that just because they don’t do what you expect them to do, doesn’t mean you can be rude about it. I hope you change your mind about some stuff in life, and I pray you have a happy new year. ✨❤ God bless.❤✨
@@TheCharcoalNinja I apologize. Sorry, for not understanding your complement. I’ve been a little confused about people’s complements. And I still can’t understand why people call his paintings/drawings “Dope.” Dope means Dummy or coward, and by otherwise. Why would some call his art that? I’m still confused about that.
I think what alot of people don't realize is the intense synthesia that most artists feel when creating. Colour and shape have intense feelings
Super impressed with your flow..what you do naturally most strive for.

As an artist this inspires me a lot 🔥🤎
How beautiful and moving to watch the process as the image unfolds. I love charcoal but rarely go for it. Inspired me to go mad! And have another go.
Great art that is so expressive. I also love the times you lay down some color pastel, which to me adds to the emotion.
You're so inspiring. I love painting portraits in charcoal and black and white oil. Thank you.

My favorite type of sketching... What's the name of this art style
Gestural. In other words, it's all about how the artist conducts his/her own movements to orchestrate the movement within the drawing, leading to a dynamic portrait.
hola tengo 2 preguntas ... que clase de papel usas y cuando borras con esa goma que es . gracias excelente video nuevo subscrptor
Awesome talent! Do the gloves keep the charcoal from smudging your drawing?
Great title. That is precisely what is meant by TRIMURTI = Brahma - Creator, Vishnu - Preserver, Shiva - Destroyer… 🙏🏼😊
Talento innato
This dudes a Jedi
the way he just drops the pen at the end
Form and chaos is my style for sure. When it looks too perfect, it doesn’t resonate with me. It’s too photographic. I like abstraction and emotion.
Love this one! Did you use natural charcoal to start with? Because, when I'm using panpastel over natural charcoal, it doesn't stick, it just glides over the charcoal and wipes it off. How do you manage please? Warm greetings from Belgium and thanks in advance!
Is the paper you use textured

I just found you yesterday ! 8:Your art is so cool! What kind of paper do you use?
What type of paper do you use? I’ve tried on news print, but that doesn’t work.

@ It wasn’t an insult! It was a compliment. It means he is so talented it looks like it took no effort - because he is so good,
