That is a very good sign: anybody claims himself to be mahdi, disqualifies him from being the mahdi. Because the mahdi will not claim to be the mahdi. It is given to him.

The Shaykh contradicts himself when he says in the beginning that are no miracles, and yet he says in the end that will take a miracle to know who he is.
If the Mahdi is given miracles, it is not of his own account, it is by the "Will of and Permission of Allah".

Just like Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H was bestowed with the prophethood by Allah's decree but he had to claim it and announced his prophethood, the same shall apply to the Mahdi. If he will not claim to be the Mahdi then why would armies if the world want to destroy him?!!

The Mahdi is not coming because of precisely the attitute of yours.
The Mahdi will come when your minds are prepared for him, as the minds were prepared and assisted by the beloved Prophet ('s).
The Mahdi even according to Shaykh Qadhi is not a miracle worker, and we have to do the work to pave the way for his return for Universal Justice.
Just because your THEOLOGY of waiting is PASSIVE, it doesnt negate the Mahdi
Every religious, Abrahamic Tradition has the idea of the Mahdi and the Shaykh has wiped out every instance of that commonality within the Abrahamic Faiths.
Lastly, the Mahdi will claim himself that he is indeed the Mahdi because as the Shaykh said it will be a miracle and it is up to the Mahdi as it was uo to the Prophet to proclaim that he was a Messenger.
One reason that the ahl al-Sunnah tradition hasnt developed the tradition of the Mahdi because those in power knew that the advent of the Mahdi will bring their downfall.

The dot connecting of the claims (1)""When the black flags come from Khorasan go to them, even if you have to crawl on snow, for among them is the Khalifa from Allah", (2) the fall of Damascus in 750 (3) the Mehdi being Muhammad Bin Abdullah and (4) appearance of Mehdi in a Damascus mosque, show that all these stories were Psychological operations (PSYOP) of Abbasid generals. First Abbasi king (nick Mansoor) was the great grand son of the Prophet's uncle Syedna Abbas, where the dynasty took the name.
Abbasid were fully successful in executing the first PSYOP. The (3-4) claims may have been a backup plan which was apparently shelved. Would be interesting to know if Mansoor and/ or his son Muhammad had an aquiline nose. Note that Abbasid toppled Damascus from Omayyad (Abu Sufian's tribe. Mehdi's appearance mosque was supposed to be in Damascus). Abbasid developed a new city, Baghdad, as their capital later.

I was in Mecca in 1979 on Hajji when that incident happened and I left just two weeks before it happened.
Yasir Qadhi has great delicacy on sensitive topics and is very nuanced and those who respect this, approach, not a shouting red in the face flaring up wars dissing sects type of scholar , love to learn
Nuanced ? The learned Shaykh (God give him a long life) cant even address the other directly and it is called nunanced.
The image of the lecture is HIGHLY DECEPTIVE and we call that nuanced ?
The only nuance is this
".... the Mahdi is a foot-note" in the ahl al-Sunnah wal Jamah ? is this the Ibn Taymiyyan ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah, for the ahl al-Sunna tradition that I come from, there is more respect accorded to the idea of the Mahdi and the Mahdi himself.
His lecture is meant to confuse in the name of ahl al-Sunnah, every one who says that he is from ahl al-Sunnah and in the end tried to vehemently deny that the idea doesnt even ring bell with his Shuyukh ?
He represents a "section" of the ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah, there are other traditions who also believe in the Mahdi and even believe in the 12th Imam of the ahl al-Bayt as the Mahdi.

As always, the title of the video is a complete lie. The lecture explains the hadith behind Imam Mahdi. It does not say "oh there it is, the huge sign that he is here." Disgraceful people calling themselves muslims and putting out these videos to get viewings for money.

Not just Mahdi alehi salam but any true follower of islam doesn't like to say about himself is really a guided person, because he himself is always saying in every prayer 'ihdinas siratal mustaqim' that means 'guide me to the right path or guide me in every situation which comes in my life to take a decision/direction which i give priority to your wish' so how come someone could claim himself or others to be a Mahdi, but if you see there are many people you can appreciate their deeds as truly guided people simply they asked for hidaya and Allah has given them hidaya can say they are mahdi but not in that context as that specific person in that scenario and has that qualities as mentioned in ahadis and that is for that specific person only who is yet come.

In context of all Hadith that serve as proof of Shi’i claims, it’s part of the proof of Imamah from the lineage of Fatima, as Shias claim.

As a shia just wanted to say I learned that Mahdi does not come for Ahl beyt, Him & prophet Isa will come and stand for all humans.
The learned Shaykh is biased towards the ahl al-Bayt, in his works that he has authored he doesnt shy away from deprecating the statu sof the ahl al-Bayt where he cites ahadith that put then down.
The learned Shaykh doesnt even refer to the Others as even with being "Muslim", it would have been nice if he had done so.
Listening to this lecture he successfully debunks the role of the Mahdi at all, he says that the Mahdi is a footnote in the sunni Tradition.
Many will come out confused, and for that he deserves praise.

Alhamdulillah. Between the 2 illustrations on the Arrival of Imam Al.Mahdi, I prefer Sunni concept because it is more convincing than the other standpoint, modesty aside.

I am wondering too why he does not say Peace be upon him after mentioning Isa ( Peace be upon him ). This presentation got marred because of this.

I have a feeling that the three sons of kings are as follows:
1) Muhammad bin Salman (almost 💯% sure)
