I leave dynamic tone mapping on it’s much brighter for me. How do you adjust HDR for these settings DTM ON ?

Did you do anything else with your TV settings, like fine tuning dark areas, or anything? From the settings I see when you originally go to turn on HGiG, they’re the same as mine on my C2, yet my symbol on the white screen disappears after 11 presses, rather than 14. I only recently got into trying HGiG. I’ve always used DTM, because it’s so much brighter, but I’m getting myself used to more the more accurate HGiG. Here’s where it gets really weird: The only reason I came here, was because when I have it set to 11 presses (when my symbol disappears), Alan Wake 2 tells me my peak brightness is like 450 nits. If I go to the 14 presses (even though that’s long after the symbol disappeared), the game tells me 850 nits. I was wondering if the PS5’s calibration instructions were just off, which sure enough, they are. However, it’s very strange that mine takes fewer presses to make that symbol disappear. Has your TV been professionally calibrated? My has not.

Just no. You should follow the ps5 instructions but lower the last screen all the way down. When you clip the first 2 it’s way too bright and unbalanced.

Lol. It absolutely is not. Dynamic Tone Mapping cranks up brightness. HGiG is the absence of extra brightening techniques that the TV uses, so that you’re getting the base brightness level. You have something set differently if you’re seeing brighter HGiG than DTM. That’s just not a thing. Thinking HGiG is brighter is like turning on bass-boost on a sound system and saying the bass is stronger with it off. Lol.
