I lived and worked up the road from Colonial Jamestown. 1982. I visited very frequently. I say go to Jamestown at night. That was always an interesting experience.
I love this . I am a direct descendent of Jamestown men. I have an account on Geni and it’s so much fun to search a name in history and see the relationship to them . I have heard that most of the descendents of the first settlers are related and it’s true . I am related ( proven ) to many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.. also to Pocahontas.
Then Hello Cuzzin , "Pocahontas" would be my many x's Great Aunt , just like Urself & Many Others I'm Also a Descendant of many of the Colonizers .

As a Virginia resident, there are three places on the peninsula that are very eerie: Jamestowne, Yorktown and the Endview Plantation. I visited the Yorktown Battle field and smelled gunpowder in the air and heard French being spoken.
Same but colonial williamsburg at night has alot of activity
My husband and I had an experience at the French Cemetery at Yorktown. Also, on a visit alone to Surrender Field, I heard fifes and drums playing.
I would love to visit this place…there must be a lot of energy here

I’m a descendent of Willam West of Jamestown and a other West’s . One was arrested for taking part in the Bacon Revolt bc his father ( l think Willam died battling the Native Americans) l think his skull was found a few years ago with a hatchet in it .

Don't forget that Roanoke was before Jamestown. It was an English colony as well. It should be mentioned as well.

My 15th Gr. Grandmother (Jane White Feather), Niece of Powhatan, married John Dods.

I am a direct descendant of the Byrds and the West s of Jamestown. One of the Wests 99% sure it was Henry became a Chief after marriage to a Chief’s daughter … l have to go back to Geni to get the info again… l have a short memory

Jamestowne is a perfect illustration of what not to do when you encounter a new society of people. There's a reason the place was ravaged by plague and hunger.
Thanks for historical up, yes imperfect world 🌎 and people whatever conviction are beliefs, shows short comings as species. We cannot undue crimes of past, but should effort not to repeat the same mistakes again. Yes are humans try forward in a positive way, everyone does matter, even indigenous , first nation's people always 💜 ❤ 💖 💙 💕 something to offer , even now .

How does one drown themself? (Honest question 🤷♂️)
I would think an accidental drowning by someone who manics and or get to tried and fail to float!
The obvious is if they can't swim but for the sake of argument this is how. A person is an experienced competent swimmer. He/she drowns simply by tying a weight to themselves and nature does the rest unless they are so disciplined they can inhale water to choke without surfacing. According to medical experts, it only takes a small amount of water, approx a couple of tablespoons, to drown so you don't need an Olympic pool's worth. Either way, it has been reported that survivors say they'd rather be executed by firing squad than drown to death as their description of the burning exploding feeling the lungs feel is terrifying at the least.
