Mike Great video, have you used O-ring kits you buy online to rebuild calipers? Dealers want to sell a whole rebuilt caliper but part of the solution is replacing the O rings only. Your thoughts?
Hi. Need a lil help here! I got a 05 650. No brakes so I did all new calipers. Still no brakes. Just replaced master cylinder still no lock. Handle still don't seem to be doing much. Pretty lose goes all the way in! Any ideas what it might be? Thanks
Hydraulic Brake Systems CHECKING/BLEEDING The hydraulic brake systems have been filled and bled at the factory. To check and/or bleed a hydraulic brake system, use the following procedure. 1. With the master cylinder in a level position, check the fluid level in the reservoir. If the level in the reservoir is not visible in the sight glass, add DOT 4 brake fluid. 2. Compress the brake lever/pedal several times to check for a firm brake. If the brake is not firm, the system must be bled. 3. To bleed the brake system, use the following procedure. A. Remove the cover and fill the reservoir with DOT 4 Hi-Temp Brake Fluid (p/n 1639-799). B. Install and secure the cover; then slowly compress the brake lever several times. C. Remove the protective cap, install one end of a clear hose onto one FRONT bleeder screw, and direct the other end into a container; then while holding slight pressure on the brake lever, open the bleeder screw and watch for air bubbles. Close the bleeder screw before releasing the brake lever. Repeat this procedure until no air bubbles are present. Hope this helps you
Great video. I think I need to do the same after I over extended my pistons during a brake pad change and leaked fluid from the caliper.
