Thousands of children in India get married every year and as soon as they reach puberty they are expected to conceive. In 2001, 300000 girls under the age of 15 had already given birth to children. According to 2001 census 54.8% of girls in Andhra Pradesh were married off at a very young age but the picture is changing now.
