Hiya, love your channel! I recently discovered Richard's recipe and noticed that the original recipe doesn't have eggs. I tried the eggless version and it came out pretty good. How come you decided to add an egg to the mix? Do you find that it improved the recipe in any way? Cheers, Caramel
thanks so much for your comment and we're delighted you love our channel. The egg will act as a leavening agent so will make the scones a little lighter and a bit richer as well. You can leave it out and make up the volume with milk; that's fine too!
@@mannadavid , ok verdict is in. Your egg version was equally yummy but I found the crumb a tad too open. The eggless version was a bit denser which I find holds clotted cream more easily... But again, both are great recipes, it just comes down to personal preference. Have a lovely weekend :)
