I had not heard this artist before, but was compelled by the name of the song. I love to listen to the rain, hear it on a tin roof, I sometimes cry in the rain, but I love to dance in the rain too. I love the power of the sound of the thunder and the intense unleashing of absolute power. We, today don't like for others to see our vulnerabilities, they may construe the tears to be a form of weakness, but I don't. Everyone has these feelings, sometimes wants to hide their heart, ashamed that someone had the power to hurt them. Those feelings are the humanness that all of us share, and only some are brave enough to show we are strong and confident enough to feel and show our emotions without considering what others may think of that. Being who we are, not allowing someone else's idea of who we should be define who we are. Its sad that some have to feel like they have to play in a charade, to be something their not so they can feel accepted by people that don't really matter at the end of the day anyway. Not if they won't accept you with all your strengths and weaknesses. I'm for being real, not drama, just real.

This is a re-recorded version - so Steve Lukather doesn't play on this one. Robin Beck couldn't get the record company to reissue the Trouble or Nothin' album, so she re-recorded the whole thing and released that in 2009

I think it's a slightly different version of the re-recorded mix though, on my 20th Anniversary Ed of Touble Or Nothin the Acoustic piano part is a bit more pronounced than the Dx7 E.piano layer, it's not as "sparkly" at the intro, so i probably just assumed this was the original version. If i actually listened to the solo on this video, i would instantly know that it's not Luke on this one. The 1989 original just has that special extra magic to it. What Robin and Desmond Child where able to pull out if it was extraordinary. That gut retching rasp and power Robin did with her voice on that is hard to replicate again. And that very first "thumpy" bass note on the Tears In The Rain original get's me chills every time. It's 80's power ballad at it's very best.
