I'm a simple man. If i hear: "Hello everybody!" i smile :)
YES!
Me too
Definitely...
And me :)
Yes! Even when I read the start of any emails from ThinkSpace Education I hear Guy saying it in my head
Not only singing, but dancing as well?! Oh, Guy! LOL. You had waaaay too much fun with that one. So did I! 😂👍🏼
I love fusing cultures/styles together ... It can create some of the most beautiful music.
Guy, I don't know if you read comments, but you are without a doubt the most inspirational music composer to me! Every time I watch one of your videos, I feel inspired to write something and feel creative! Thank you for doing these kinds of videos and keep inspiring us! :D
I honnestly think that Guy is the only reason that I can bear quarantine. Thank you very much for what you do !
Guy! Have you ever been arrested for having too much fun? :D As always, you inspire me to take another giant step. Please, please, don't stop! The world of music would be ever so much smaller without the likes of you. Thanks again. Oh yes, I'm glad you enjoyed your hot-crossed buns.
Who else has got that tune stuck in their head for the rest of the day? :)
So true
Well done! I like this A LOT!!! Expect a phone call from Mr Tarantino...
This makes me feel like a Texas Cowboy exploring Victorian London! Very cool!
Chucking yourself in the sandbox will always shake the tree and drop a tune on your head when the old man inspiration needs a nudge. This is my favourite way of awakening the buds for a song to bloom. Just look how mixing cultures worked for the Masterchef champion this year. Nicely done Mr Guy, sir.
Hahah, "this isn't a template, this is a car crash" - love your work Guy!
Especially enjoying/liking the opening 🎶‼️😎👍
Omg breakfast adventures? How fun! How cozy!
Next video suggestion would be really good if you did one on Choir samples. You have so many regarding string libraries however a lot of the same techniques for strings is applicable to choirs. Would love to see a deep dive into that.
Ok good point. Give me a week or two and we’ll look at it
What a nice introduction in this one. And... I can't help but always laugh so hard when you hit a note and do a scare. (Bulgarian Choir; very loud). I remember you hitting a note in some library and you said: "Sounds like someone shot my granny!". haha. Please never stop doing this in your way. Playful, funny, yet so educational ♥
Hey. Thanks from a video. Greetings from a Czech guy stuck in Paraguay! It's complicated. But anyway, I'm amazed by the infinite avalanche of ideas you got. When I get a tune worth being worked on, it takes ages to find something that will improve and enrich it, not act like when you don't know how to season your food so you just cover it with ketchup/mayo.
Good luck with anything you do!
I've used Erhu in my hiphop music since the very beginning. What I'm struggling with is my scifi project, which is trying to be an orchestral/electronic fusion that might make the listener think of Isaac Asimov.
Ah yes, it was thinking like this that got me to start making celtic-trap beats... Now everyone looks at me weird when I tell them about my music, and I love that about it 😅
Props for really experimenting with music here, that is part of the fun! I always appreciate your insights!
Tip: add multiple versions of any weird instruments you use, and pan them for a wider and more full sound (ie a East West Erhu 75% left and a UVI Erhu 75% right, possibly with a Embertone Chang Erhu at center; rinse and repeat for any other lead type instruments that you want to emphasize)
This was just the ticket too. I was very stuck working on a piece. Then... hey, why NOT add a left field instrument to shake it up a bit?
Great video as usual. So energetic!
btw, you know how to write a catchy main tune. The erhu melody is really memorable.
Much love and gratitude, Guy. May the Rum & Raisin be with you always.
Amazing and one of the many reasons i wanted to do music, make crazy arrangements come together. Im just starting off but you been a huge inspiration and fun teacher. Please do more of these, have an amazing day and stay safe!!
You’re a gifted educator, Guy... one of a kind!
Love your channel. It’s always so filled with the joy of discovery
Guy, I love the way you have fun with music and express it through your videos. The beat is so catchy! and love what you did there...amazing stuffs! Keep it going never stop it please....
You're a clever fella, Guy! Love your videos, always.
Love it!
Very TV themeish....
Another amazing video! Thank you Guy!
Just what I needed Guy!! I’ve been trying to do this!
You are the best. Thank you for inspiring me. Had so much fun.
Warching you melt the butter on to that hotXbun just made me very (and I mean VERY) hungry!
Such cool and inspirational video!! That track is a bop
Amazing as always!
I've got to visit the local Wally World in a bit and this is gonna be stuck in My head as I wonder around trying to find where THEY hid the mayo this time!!! Brilliant,Guy!
I love your vibe man!!!!!!
- I hear the Jumanji drums play Toni Basil's "Hey Mickey" in the beginning, but I guess it's just me! :-)
Well done Sir! Absolute brilliant !!
I heard that too and wondered if anyone else did!
This turned out great. Incredibly catchy and I love the mix of instruments.
Tom Waits just came to mind…just imagine his vox on top…excellent 👏
Guy, brilliant! :) I always get motivated when I watch any of your videos and the composing process. It's just, there's a problem...when I'm left alone with myself and open Cubase, I don't know how to move on. 🤔🤣 I can watch your videos over and over again as a great show on Netflix! 😃😃 It’s never boring, in fact, it’s always interesting, instructive and funny! Congratulations once again!
I loved it Guy! Thumbs up:)
Great job: a KungFu/David Carradine in a Tarantino + Cohen brothers commercial for organic sanitary napkins taking place in the Donegal.
I explain:
Mbira= organic,
Erhu=kung fu,
Lapsteel= Tarantino,
Sanitary napkins= Bulgarian choir, obviously,
For the Cohen brothers and the Donegal I haven't formated my mind yet but I'm sure I'm right. I'll let you kow as soon as possible. 🥳.
this was sooo cool, Guy. I think you should have added the part when you were singing as well. It worked. LOVE it. Thanks!!! wonder if we have hot cross buns in the US
On this theme of ‘mixing styles’...
...track down Yes’ ‘Siberian Khatru’. The great Rick Wakeman actually does a couple of bars of medieval harpsichord solo, and then the drums and bass bring it back to a rock space. 45 years later, and their ‘mixing of styles’ still gives me a thrill!
Loved it
It's like the soundtrack to a sci-fi show, one of those where multiple cultures co-exist in a futuristic city that's seen better days. Like Blade Runner, but, you know, more happy!
Hello Guy! Hope you're enjoying Easter!
By the way, do you write your own B-Roll Music?
Brilliant!
Just brilliant guy 👍👍👍
Welcome to my exact style of music..
I now have a name for my Genre of music,..thanks to Guy..
👉🏼“Hot-Cross-Buns”👈🏼
Thank you Guy
Cheers from 🇨🇦
Luke
U have an awesome skills 🔥🔥🔥
Hilarious composition! I agree with Majum.... might be nice for a whimsical video game
Great video, intro was brilliant
This music stuff is bad for my diet! Saw those buttered and toasted, rum and raisin hot cross buns and went straight to the kitchen!!
Masterpiece!
I really like your sessions. Congrats and “saludos” from Chihuahua Mexico.
I’m thinking of hot cross buns with golden raisins and bacon. Your composition brings joy to my heart.
This was clever.
good idea thanks
Coffee & rum kicks in at 23:19 lol
Surprised to see several comments from people stating that Guy created a "bad thing" here that sounded "like a MIDI track"....
I'm still awaiting their uploads of them doing a better job. I don't remember Guy promising us a 7 part symphony in D# Minor for two basset horns, five Egyptian dumbek and a trio of sitars... And what he produced was actually quite incentive and catchy.
Lesson of the day folks - if you're going to bemoan or slam how bad something is without offering any constructive criticism, you'd best be packing a right whopper under your tabard...
Thanks, Guy. I find it really reassuring that your timing issues when laying down a track for the first time are as questionable...er...I mean, as good as mine!
This has totally inspired me ... to get some run n raisin hot cross buns ... I mean, really ..why did nobody think of it before? ... oh and the mix n match template thing's not a bad idea either, might give that a go!
Kind of Jeff Wayne cross-burned with 'What to do with the drunken sailor'! Rum job Guy! Brilliant! lol
A new Ethera library coming out at the end of April...Sahara Voices! You need to hear this one sir.
Good evening Guy! Love the videos! I was wondering if you could do more geared towards drums/percussion. Different rhythms and stuff like 3 3 2, etc. a little mini series! Or could recommend someone for me to watch?
Hot Crossed Bulgarian Womans Choir with Slide Guitar.. I was wonder from the beginning how you were going to fit those two together..I did notice you did not layer them over top each other. I do really like this tune, I would keep the beat and bass that tribal feeling, probly without hot crossed beglian female vocalists yelling at me:) Thanks Guy, always fun, love your vids.
This might be my favourite demo track of yours 😜
Fantastic, as always! Quick question - I love what you said about replacing instruments as long as they play the same role. What are the main roles in your brain? I am guessing - lead/melody, countermelody, bass, rhythm/percussion, supporting harmony - something like that. I was just wondering how you have all of this organized in your head. Don't say you don't - you know you do!
Interesting recipe, Guy. Swingle Singers meets Talking Heads somewhere in the Deep South. Food for thought...
True, as soon as I heard the steel I thought about Talking Heads!
@@robertoformia The world has never been the same since they hung up their boots. 'Remain in Light' is a classic :).
@@MartinJG100 Magnificents!
In Poland, they are with poppy seeds and are called Kajzerki ( Kaisers )
i agree , its more interesting the further you depart from the " norm ".. love mixing sounds that traditionally are not usually mixed...whoever decides hat goes and dosnt together???? thank you
I feel a new series coming on: Pie With Guy
I can compose music with many different instruments but I cannot compose music
without a lovely cup of Tea.
i kind of enjoyed that
Hey Guy, I've had cabbage and couliflower cheese on toast with tomato sauce? So what musical mash up will this lead too? Maybe a very windy composition ? Who knows, who cares, just gonna give it a go, yea, more stuff like this, absolutely brill!
Love the Bulgarian choir
Very interesting. But I thought you would mix two totally different genres together. But awesome video as always.
Gotta love those buns Guy!
You have Lavazza A Modo Mio Espresso machine - good man! Have you tried the Passionale capsules? The perfect accompaniment to your entertaining videos!
Waitrose, Dualit kettle, stainless steel kitchen counter and cup of pour over. Guy you have achieved peak middle class! :D *grins*
cool!
I love this Guy! (pun intended)
What's the Cubase shortcut to copy/paste a selected "midi block" at the end of a track? I notice you use that a lot.
2:03 Butterfinger!
It would be fun to play a video game with this piece.
Hey Guy, what is the name of the Battery 4 patch you used for this one? Thanks!
Sounds great to me. Choir makes it.
Brilliant video as usual. Request: I would love to hear your opinion on the new EastWest Hollywood Orchestrator that is being released on the 20th. Maybe even a video?
Stay tuned
Hey Guy could you take a look at the live strings samples by infinite samples? I’ve been seeing them all over my instagram feed and would love to see your take on them! They’re only £60 so im a bit skeptical as to the quality of the library
game scoring stuff please!
How do you get all those extra vertical lines behind the horizontal midi note lines?
Defo Tina Weymouth type bass in there. Tom Tom Club vibe going.
Add some funky base and thumpy kicks!
Great! Your enthusiasm is infectious, but could you please slow down a bit and explain some of your "tweaks"?
My finger accidentally hit the unsubscribe button and RUclips asked me if I was sure, and I asked how could anyone unsubscribe to this Guy?!?!
I notice in many shots, although you're using Kontakt and have the Komplete Kontrol keyboard, the keyboard is set to MIDI and not plug-in. Why's that?
Sardines and custard! Lordy lordy.
For a second I thought you were writing a pussycat dolls song. Lol Great as usual. I’m a new subscriber just catching up on the backlog. Don’t mind me…
Sanitize those hands before taking that mask off! This video couldn't have come at a better time. I have a project going right now and this video really helped.
Hey Guy, any thoughts on Versilian Chamber Orchestra Pro? It's on sale for $126 right now. Hard to imagine a better value.
