The concept of mentoring was mentioned in Homer’s “Odyssey” for the first time. The main character, Odysseus, leaves his little son Telemachus with a wise man and his trusted adviser - Mentor.
He educated the boy and took the role of his guide as Odysseus went for the war. This way Telemachus gained knowledge and skills that later on helped him find the father and reunite with him....
