Kinda sad we live in times where I am no longer sure if someone saying "oh you need to play at launch cause this is the best experience I had in this game" is true or its because amazon needs nice numbers to report after game launches.
The combat in New World before the update was something I always wanted in an MMORPG. It's not just pressing 1,2,3 ect ect. You can actually move around, dodge and also have good aim. This game does take some skill and I do like that.
Hard disagree, it takes way more skill to pull off good rotations in FFXIV or WoW than it is to simply dodge and use just a few abilities, plus ping makes the movement feel clunky.
If you want good combat in an MMO, this is handsdown the best option. It’s so dynamic, since you only have 3 abilities they all actually matter- you don’t just spam like in most MMOs (like T&L)

I don't know how so many people are being tricked into thinking this is a whole new game. Its like 90% the same game. They basically added some cutscenes, lock on, swimming, a raid and PvP zone. Its still the exact same MMO as before.
Yeah but those are fundamental aspects that needed improving plus the movement and combat feels a lot better now. Without those improvements I wouldn't even touch the game. I tried it before and it just felt severely undercooked idk why people tolerated it so now they're bitter. Now it feels like how it was intended to be. It's sad that it's too late for vets who are bitter about it now but for people who are just jumping in now or have held off like me it feels great.
For me, I'm an altaholic... Fresh start allows me to make new characters and experience the differences without messing up existing toons. We shall see whether it has lasting potential.

the answer is yes you should play it. it’s a good game. don’t listen to the people who have 5000 hours and then tell you that it’s not good. 5000+ hours is plenty of play time and who knows maybe you’ll play even more than that. there’s so much to do and they HAVE made improvements to the game.

Was very wary thinking this may be a sponsored unreliable video, but your praise for the game both at launch on PC, and your sessions with Fex were enough to change my mind. I’ve heard very mixed things but usually it’s ranting about the same few things and overlooking all the good the game has. I don’t mind it not being perfect.
I played throne and liberty for 15min and my problems are this 1. Horrendous acting and voice work 2. Unnecessarily complex controls (seriously, we dont need that many things to do on one or two buttons) 3. Very little to no reason to actually care (i know its a thing with mmos to basically drop a person in with little reason but damn was this lazy, even dc universe online has a much better story reason to give a fuck)
@@marcusbarros2866I can't stand TnL's combat even 50lvls later that makes doing every activity in the game unfun for me. Also the desync and jank when grappling, gliding, and mantling is just horrendous. In the Aeternum update at least it feels good to move, traverse, fight and even gather it makes doing stuff fun. But yeah it really could use more endgame cause I want to play more of it.
So excited to play this new game, now that the extended 3yr beta is over! It finally really looks like a whole game and i love the solo player focus. Cant wait!
@@The_GeniMost people have their PC in a corner somehwere in a room. Most peope use consoles as their main multimedia platform. Even with less games, its still a useful machine for literally just having TV, movies and subscription services.
It is a shame that New World wasn't as successful as other MMORPG. Watching this video brings back fond memories from 2 years ago where I had so much fun playing NW with friends. The combat, graphic etc were way better than other online games.
I think it's because the world, although graphically beautiful, lacks that something that would make it stand out, it looks kinda generic, and the lore and characters underdeveloped.

Obviously, I understand you need to put bread on the table and the video itself is well made but it was unfortunately useless to me. Actually this video wasn't influenced by our sponsorship. I had played the beta before we knew we'd be doing this video and had a great time. And when I went to make the video for it, this is what came out. I understand that the lock-on feature is highly criticized, I've seen the comments on the Aeternum trailer. The lock-on does not bother me, and I actually think it makes the game more fun. I admit, I am not a "hardcore" New World player, even though I have played a lot in the past, and that's probably why it doesn't bother me.

Nice! I remember picking this up on a deep sale on Steam, but finding the controls to be a little too MMOish for my tastes. The lack of a lock-on was a huge deal i.e. so I got it refunded after less than an hour of trying to have fun with that combat system. This looks really promising, may have to rent it and see how it feels.
I have to say it..I bought the dlc and I am completely hooked. and that makes me so sad because I think New World is not surviving. I hope for the best. Its the perfect solo mmo experience with the best combat out there besides guild wars 2. It should be a single player rpg. I am having so much fun and I highly recommend it. (I am on pc)

Stopped playing several months after release and about 500 hours. It was fun and got my moneys worth. Just started again and I’m having a blast with the new weapons especially. Mounts and more fast travel points are nice as well. Looking forward to trying out end game. But I wished they added some different maps for OPR.
Hello! I buyed New World like 2 years ago and played for about 140h but never bought the huge DLC with mounts etc. do i will get this DLC/Mounts etc. with this New World Aeternum for free or do i still need to but DLC?
I currently play ESO on console and I enjoy but was looking for something new. FF14 help with that and everyone was really nice. I just felt like I was rushing thru to catch up and lost the enjoyment. New World seems more manageable. Hopefully they do add more end game content that’s the only thing that worries me
The best part for this game is the leveling and the stuff u do to level to max level . During leveling, the main story u do is so well written and they added so many cut scenes to progress the story and quest. Well done quest and leveling. played the original few years back, now as a comeback player it's so fun and hype.
Why not? It's been a good ride up until now, with many changes. The crafting is more or less good. It's fun, and I like the PvP. I'm happy to have console players. The beta was good in my opinion. I really look forward to helping console players. This is fun! It's been a blast talking to people about builds, rotations, things like that. Where to farm for what? It's been so much fun today. I like seeing console players get to enjoy this; it makes me happy for them, and it's really helping the community. It feels extremely alive now, even more than when it first hit PC.
I stopped playing New World only because the only way you could get the end game weapons was to STOP soloing. I'm a solo type of dude. Also I never really understood end game with New World so the more I played New World, the more frustrated it became. Does Aeternum fix these two things? The only way I'd consider coming back is if it does fix these two issues.
Same, except I got burned by the server issues early on and quit after a few hours. It felt like it did have some good under it so hopefully it's solo able now
When I first saw this game come out I was super bummed I wouldn't get it on console. Since then I've heard some negativity around the game.. But tbh it still looks like a fun time. Not expecting it to completely consume my life (like other mmoprgs in the past *ahem* Runescape).. But I assume it'll be a fun 100ish hours, maybe more with some friends. This game actually reminds me a lot of Runescape in some ways, like seeing people chop trees and mine ores. I think it'll "scratch the itch" if you will.. Been pretty bored and burnt out of games since I beat Elden ring DLC lol.
@@CinnamonRollsRGood it's honestly a great game, OSRS is still a ton of fun to play occasionally. Just takes so much time lol. I mainly play for nostalgia once in awhile. As nerdy as it may sound, playing Runescape as a kid was a huge part of my childhood and I don't regret it at all. Taught me not to trust random people, made friends, had great times with friends. Something about not having a clue made it so much more fun as a kid, tho. Hard to say if somebody new would enjoy it as much, without the nostalgia factor. But they still put out content regularly, and imo it's one of the best mmos still. Gotta say tho, after putting some hours on New world, there's definitely a lot of similarities. Kinda reminds me of a mix between RS and Albion online. But I'm definitely loving it thus far. But it feels like the devs played (and loved) Runescape as well, and I like that.

I really loved the immersion in New world. It felt like I was there while playing it but after completing everything the game had to offer and getting the best gear. There was nothing new for over a year with no new content. Not to mention those bug fix updates which created More bugs. New World was one of kinda MMO experience that probably gonna stay for a while but the core of the game is still the same in Arternum. I won't be playing this game again when it crushed players hopes and slowly turned the love for the game to hate.
I tried out the open beta version on PS5 and it seems pretty fun. It was my first time playing the game and i enjoyed the combat. I probably won’t buy it at $70 but ill definitely cop in the future.
they have quite literally gotten no where but changing the game from a mmo to a arpg in 3 years. don't expect any more content updates until this time next year.
I tried this game before and it felt very undercooked. Idk what came over you all jumping in day 1 in 2021 and tolerating the issues despite the obvious red flags. Now you're all bitter when the game is finally in it's intended state like FF14 3 years after its original launch or even NMS.
Picked this up today on console and ended up playing 9 hours straight, not done that with a game in years found it hard to pull myself off the game and go to bed 😂
@sliimcracker this. ESO is still one of the hardest games I've played, though it requires 12 people to raid/trial, that gear only.really effects PvE. It's such a good game tbh.. the best console MMO imo. Or was. It's dying now

Amazon will have to focus on end game content and content in general to keep player retention. Seems that the ESO studio lacks this capability, one of the reasons why I’m usually reluctant to invest time into it
I loved this game but ever since many players left, I left too. I dont hate the game at all and really want to come back. I hope the new target locking is removed too, looks broken. I've been playing throne and liberty and it is kinda fun but target locking is really not my type of combat.
"Games have problems on Consoles" - this is kinda wrong. Most of the games a mainly developed for consoles and get ported to pc where they run bad if the port is bad (sadly is common).
I would also argue that PC games that end up getting ported to console end up being really high quality ports. It the PC community that generally gets the worse versions

Er, how exactly is 'performance a huge issue on console these days?' performance on console has never been better. Speaking as a game developer, we've gone from a scenario where just one or two generations ago, 30 fps was the standard, to an abundance of 60 and 120 fps games available on console.
Ahh it lost me with the lock on. Aiming my attacks was something I loved with the original. I wouldn’t use lock on, but now that disadvantages me in pvp.
Is this tab-targetting (where your character automatically attacks kinda like WoW) or is the combat more action focused with individual and manual attack inputs like souls/DmC?
It's hitbox based action combat like soulslikes. Not hitscans like in tabtarget where all your attacks visually connects to your target but your hits or misses are ultimately decided by rng. The hitboxes are pretty tight too so you can strafe projectiles at certain distances.
Interesting. My problem with New World at release was actually the leveling. It was just so boring. It was the MMORPG-default-quest-system from 20 years ago. Every quest essentially just boiled down to "kill this" and "collect that" with no real story-background. This is now better?
Yes. They added tons of cut scenes related to the main story and quest. It answer alot of question on what is the main theme of the story and why u should do the quest. Close up camera shots is also added during quest dialogue with NPC that shows ur character and NPC reaction. It's quite well Done.
I complained about combat in T&L, my wife complained about the cosmetics in NW, we both watched this YT video and the comments on mine say buy the game for combat, the comments on her YT says this game has trash graphics Amazon sucks, just form your own opinion, nothing on your phone
Good game, I like it. But fuck, every time, same problem. FPS drops in ps5, any performance mode. In city feels like 55-50, if they fix this fps drops, this game will be very, very good.

I do love the combat in this game (4k hours) but I logged in to my old server to try the new pvp area. There was 3 people running around together, I tried to attack them but hits didn't register - no idea why. I saw one other person solo but they vanished before I could catch up. Lost interest and went back to Throne and Liberty.
They need to add pvp gear and raid gear am sure they might have DNT know but I wish the battle system in dungeons was better like u needing a tank or a healer or dps like WOW OR ESO u DNT in this game basically any class can do a dungeon with a group and come out victorious
no. The game is fun actually one of my fav mmo's there just isnt any end content and the pop is death even today it was like 30k the last time i checked i went to the new zone and there were only 2 groups pvping .
So this is still a PvP game? It looks great and I even like some of the animations but I don't do PvP in an MMO. Oh well for those who like PvP I hope the game is great for you and finds it's legs for the long haul.
Both games are good. New World has a better end game gear grind, but it doesn't have the content. T&L has the content, with a ridiculous end game gear grind.

I'm not really an MMO player (more FPS), so the simplicity and the fact that I can have aim-oriented gameplay appeals to me (musket)

The flashbacks of cutting trees until eternity (Logging level 200) are coming back... I hope we get more stuff to do than the base game.

Nice! I remember picking this up on a deep sale on Steam, but finding the controls to be a little too MMOish for my tastes. The lack of a lock-on was a huge deal i.e. so I got it refunded after less than an hour of trying to have fun with that combat system. This looks really promising, may have to rent it and see how it feels.

I have to say it..I bought the dlc and I am completely hooked. and that makes me so sad because I think New World is not surviving. I hope for the best. Its the perfect solo mmo experience with the best combat out there besides guild wars 2. It should be a single player rpg. I am having so much fun and I highly recommend it. (I am on pc)

Stopped playing several months after release and about 500 hours. It was fun and got my moneys worth. Just started again and I’m having a blast with the new weapons especially. Mounts and more fast travel points are nice as well. Looking forward to trying out end game. But I wished they added some different maps for OPR.

Hello! I buyed New World like 2 years ago and played for about 140h but never bought the huge DLC with mounts etc. do i will get this DLC/Mounts etc. with this New World Aeternum for free or do i still need to but DLC?

I currently play ESO on console and I enjoy but was looking for something new. FF14 help with that and everyone was really nice. I just felt like I was rushing thru to catch up and lost the enjoyment. New World seems more manageable. Hopefully they do add more end game content that’s the only thing that worries me
The best part for this game is the leveling and the stuff u do to level to max level . During leveling, the main story u do is so well written and they added so many cut scenes to progress the story and quest. Well done quest and leveling. played the original few years back, now as a comeback player it's so fun and hype.
Why not? It's been a good ride up until now, with many changes. The crafting is more or less good. It's fun, and I like the PvP. I'm happy to have console players. The beta was good in my opinion. I really look forward to helping console players. This is fun! It's been a blast talking to people about builds, rotations, things like that. Where to farm for what? It's been so much fun today. I like seeing console players get to enjoy this; it makes me happy for them, and it's really helping the community. It feels extremely alive now, even more than when it first hit PC.
I stopped playing New World only because the only way you could get the end game weapons was to STOP soloing. I'm a solo type of dude. Also I never really understood end game with New World so the more I played New World, the more frustrated it became. Does Aeternum fix these two things? The only way I'd consider coming back is if it does fix these two issues.

The endgame is quite pvp focused but there’s a lot to enjoy on the way there. I’m playing pve only for now
When I first saw this game come out I was super bummed I wouldn't get it on console. Since then I've heard some negativity around the game.. But tbh it still looks like a fun time. Not expecting it to completely consume my life (like other mmoprgs in the past *ahem* Runescape).. But I assume it'll be a fun 100ish hours, maybe more with some friends. This game actually reminds me a lot of Runescape in some ways, like seeing people chop trees and mine ores. I think it'll "scratch the itch" if you will.. Been pretty bored and burnt out of games since I beat Elden ring DLC lol.

@@CinnamonRollsRGood it's honestly a great game, OSRS is still a ton of fun to play occasionally. Just takes so much time lol. I mainly play for nostalgia once in awhile. As nerdy as it may sound, playing Runescape as a kid was a huge part of my childhood and I don't regret it at all. Taught me not to trust random people, made friends, had great times with friends. Something about not having a clue made it so much more fun as a kid, tho.
Hard to say if somebody new would enjoy it as much, without the nostalgia factor. But they still put out content regularly, and imo it's one of the best mmos still.
Gotta say tho, after putting some hours on New world, there's definitely a lot of similarities. Kinda reminds me of a mix between RS and Albion online. But I'm definitely loving it thus far. But it feels like the devs played (and loved) Runescape as well, and I like that.

New servers were packed yesterday and everyone I talked to was enjoying the game. 👍
I really loved the immersion in New world. It felt like I was there while playing it but after completing everything the game had to offer and getting the best gear. There was nothing new for over a year with no new content. Not to mention those bug fix updates which created More bugs. New World was one of kinda MMO experience that probably gonna stay for a while but the core of the game is still the same in Arternum. I won't be playing this game again when it crushed players hopes and slowly turned the love for the game to hate.
Excited to get back into new world but the number of bugs being reported today is actually insane to the point where I don't even want to log in yet.
I tried out the open beta version on PS5 and it seems pretty fun. It was my first time playing the game and i enjoyed the combat. I probably won’t buy it at $70 but ill definitely cop in the future.

they have quite literally gotten no where but changing the game from a mmo to a arpg in 3 years. don't expect any more content updates until this time next year.

I tried this game before and it felt very undercooked. Idk what came over you all jumping in day 1 in 2021 and tolerating the issues despite the obvious red flags. Now you're all bitter when the game is finally in it's intended state like FF14 3 years after its original launch or even NMS.

@sliimcracker this. ESO is still one of the hardest games I've played, though it requires 12 people to raid/trial, that gear only.really effects PvE. It's such a good game tbh.. the best console MMO imo. Or was. It's dying now
@@Twizzler300 i expect new world to be quite popular on the console simply because in terms of console, there is limited choices available. Amazon will have to focus on end game content and content in general to keep player retention. Seems that the ESO studio lacks this capability, one of the reasons why I’m usually reluctant to invest time into it

I loved this game but ever since many players left, I left too. I dont hate the game at all and really want to come back. I hope the new target locking is removed too, looks broken. I've been playing throne and liberty and it is kinda fun but target locking is really not my type of combat.
"Games have problems on Consoles" - this is kinda wrong. Most of the games a mainly developed for consoles and get ported to pc where they run bad if the port is bad (sadly is common).
I would also argue that PC games that end up getting ported to console end up being really high quality ports. It the PC community that generally gets the worse versions
I want to try this so bad but the $60 price tag is holding me back. If this was free to play, i would already be playing this.
The experiences you get in this game are phenomenal. If you’re on NAE I’d be down to play should you choose to get the game. It’s definitely worth it.

Er, how exactly is 'performance a huge issue on console these days?' performance on console has never been better. Speaking as a game developer, we've gone from a scenario where just one or two generations ago, 30 fps was the standard, to an abundance of 60 and 120 fps games available on console.
Ahh it lost me with the lock on. Aiming my attacks was something I loved with the original. I wouldn’t use lock on, but now that disadvantages me in pvp.
Lock on was nerfed you still need to aim
Now it disconnects auto lock the second your crosshair moves away from the enemy
I tried the aim assist , on PC and find it more annoying to use then beneficial

the pve and endgame in this game is awful. they added one raid, and the dungeons are extremely boring
There are expeditions which are sort of a mix of raid and dungeons but they are underwhelming to be honest.

This a completely action combat game
It's hitbox based action combat like soulslikes. Not hitscans like in tabtarget where all your attacks visually connects to your target but your hits or misses are ultimately decided by rng. The hitboxes are pretty tight too so you can strafe projectiles at certain distances.

Interesting. My problem with New World at release was actually the leveling. It was just so boring. It was the MMORPG-default-quest-system from 20 years ago. Every quest essentially just boiled down to "kill this" and "collect that" with no real story-background. This is now better?
Yes. They added tons of cut scenes related to the main story and quest. It answer alot of question on what is the main theme of the story and why u should do the quest. Close up camera shots is also added during quest dialogue with NPC that shows ur character and NPC reaction. It's quite well Done.

I complained about combat in T&L, my wife complained about the cosmetics in NW, we both watched this YT video and the comments on mine say buy the game for combat, the comments on her YT says this game has trash graphics Amazon sucks, just form your own opinion, nothing on your phone
Good game, I like it. But fuck, every time, same problem. FPS drops in ps5, any performance mode. In city feels like 55-50, if they fix this fps drops, this game will be very, very good.

Yes it is a somewhat smaller version cuz there's not as many but yet alot of the same stuff but with better combat
I mean the material gathering is arguably the closest thing you can find to Osrs, atleast on consoles.

I do love the combat in this game (4k hours) but I logged in to my old server to try the new pvp area. There was 3 people running around together, I tried to attack them but hits didn't register - no idea why. I saw one other person solo but they vanished before I could catch up. Lost interest and went back to Throne and Liberty.
They need to add pvp gear and raid gear am sure they might have DNT know but I wish the battle system in dungeons was better like u needing a tank or a healer or dps like WOW OR ESO u DNT in this game basically any class can do a dungeon with a group and come out victorious

The game is fun actually one of my fav mmo's there just isnt any end content and the pop is death even today it was like 30k the last time i checked i went to the new zone and there were only 2 groups pvping .
But i was enjoying progressing on the bsse gsme, now its gone?
Trophies are mostly PvP based, kill 5000 players is hard pass.
So this is still a PvP game? It looks great and I even like some of the animations but I don't do PvP in an MMO. Oh well for those who like PvP I hope the game is great for you and finds it's legs for the long haul.

Both games are good. New World has a better end game gear grind, but it doesn't have the content. T&L has the content, with a ridiculous end game gear grind.
