Actually Chevrolet updated their body style in mid-1947. I know because I had one up until 2012! The difference between the late 47's and 48's, were the late '47 had the gas tank under the bed, and the '48 was behind the seat, but the 1946 model bug-eye headlights on top the fenders were gone, along with the tiny cab space and vertical grille. Ford didn't actually introduce their new body style until the fall of 1947 with the advent of the '48 model year.😉
