I have always seen her work, her sound, her vocals as something very experimental. It really makes her sound unique and really a like new genre. When I talk about her voice, her technique, I always mention that, though she have a classical background, she always liked to experiment with her voice, since NW. She used to say in interviews she didn't want to sound too classical, or like she have a potato in her mouth. Her 'metal voice technique' is not classical, not contemporary either, it is she experimenting with her vocals, and she does the same with her music. I really cannot name any other artist like her, and I have to say that there have been many copies of her in nightwish, but Tarja as an artist is absolutely unique.

I get why the commercialisation of Christmas music is just too much and the need for the darker elements to match the dark of the long winter season which can be near 6 months and yet celebrating the light that we are halfway through the dark physicalily and yes the Light of Our Saviour Jesus Christ born to bring that light and hope into the world. This music gets that importance and weight of that mesage being the reason we celebrate. Something sorely lacking in today's music.
