Chris Slade is one of the greatest drummers in rock history ! Very underated and not mention too often in drums conversation. Thanks mr Slade for your great work !
@@danielpicard6907 Seen The Firm at the old Boston Garden in 1986. Back then you could wander around the arena without much hassle. We got on the balcony right behind him and watched him from above. Fantastic drummer.
I love great Chris Slade from the times of The Firm.. For me personaly Axl Rose was fantastic with AC DC and Angus.. Many greetings and all the best to maestro Chris Slade , Miodrag Mica 🙂🐕🐾🍀
ABSOLUTELY! HE WAS FANTASTIC AND DIDNT GET ENOUGH CREDIT FOR THE AC DC GNR REUNION IN 2016. No one talks about how he broke his foot 2 songs in after 23 years and persevered through singing from a chair and killing it. Nah let’s focus on that show he canceled 10 years ago or whatever negativity people can regurgitate from someone who never saw the genius of Axl. Those in the know, the initiated and maybe weren’t fans said he was beyond great. Just ask Scott Ian
It was the glossy production that made that album so much different than all of the previous ACDC albums. Slade is pretty good on record...but live, he is notorious for pushing the band. Listen to a song from the last Slade tour and then compare it to a song with Rudd. The difference is shocking. ACDC does not want or need to a speedy drummer. His health isn't the reason they didn't call him back for the current tour.
Who cares about some critics? They are doing great. Brian already retired with almost no hearing in 2016. But because of great technology he was able to do this last thing. AC/DC are playing to 70k - 110k every night on this tour. Everyone gets older. Just enjoy the ride as long that you can. The fans and Angus & Brian and the rest of the guys sure does.
Ive loved acdc my whole life i saw them first in 96 and in 2008...they blew me away ...i saw guns n roses in 2002 and axl was amazing..tho there was no slash ... still he had some serious range.... the axl and brian aint what they was..they are both old...im glad i saw them both back in the day... i think axl last sounded his best with acdc...and that aint a bad way to go is it .. i wish acdc did some new songs with axl ..and brian ...why not ..if it sounds good then do it
Yeah a lot of bad stories about Axl but I'm sure he found his humility getting the opportunity to sing for AC/DC as difficult as he can be and was in the past that was with his own band. He's gonna wanna be on his best behavior when surrounded by his heroes. I know I would.
Well....with all due respect Chris...you were a hired gun. It was really none of your biz who was doing what. Bottom line. Take it or leave it. And you said that in this interview....RESPECT!!!
Probably AND possibly "different", THAN when Rudd was on the throne, Maybe? 🤔 ..... Probably the main reason he hasn't been brought BACK IN...He WAS originally supposed to but, unfortunately, again?....It just wouldn't/couldn't happen 😔 🤘🔥🤘
Dude..think about what you said. Pretend you are Angus and could have Phil Rudd in your band. Would you not bring him back? Rudd is the perfect fit for the band. It is called the music business for a reason. Also...fans value original lineups. I know Rudd isn't touring right now due to family issues...but if he was willing and able, he would be there.
@@michaelr.4878 actually Chris was in the band and recorded thunderstruck album when I first got into AC/DC when I was 15 years old about 1990 or 1991, so to me Chris was the original member for me as a teenager when I discovering the music for the first time. So replacing him with Phil was good for the old timers before me but it never made sense to me. I'm now 50 years old, and I see chris still as the best drummer and the drummer I first heard innAC/DC.

Fantastic drummer.
Chris is 100% correct about Cliff Williams being a nice person. I met him several times when I lived in Florida being that we lived near each other.
Cliff has a place near friends here in NC; everybody likes him and many had no idea who he was except "A guy from Britain."

The razor's edge album went to a different stratosphere thanks to Chris. He brings a whole other level of energy to the mix.

Axl did a good job with that gig

I remember money talks tour Birmingham UK 1990.
Chris banged those drums like a bomb going off Amazing
Keep time and keep quiet!.the life of a drummer!😊
I was at the MSG SHOW in 2016 it was the best show i ever went to , he fucking killed it.
I have to admit that when Axl was announced for AC/DC I was not impressed. But he did a great job. Sounded awesome

“….they just do not tell the drummer” unless you’re Alex Van Halen

I liked Chris when he sang vocals for Midnight Oil. Surprised you didn't touch on that time in his life.
Please tell me more about his singing for midnight oil...
lol!
😄
Yeah good one 😂

Axle did sound good in AcDc
Sorry Chris But Ckiff Was There 39 years ,Alot Yes June 77 to Sept 2016 Mark Evans was Before Him March 75 to Late May 77
And then was back in early 2020-late 2023
Very nice guy, but his voice reminds me of Bricktop in the movie Snatch. If Chris ever tells me to get off his lawn, I think I will get off his lawn.
AC/DC quite ruthless when it comes to business , I Dont like the way they kept picking up and dropping Chris.

Freelance life, or being an employee of an organization, just is that way sometimes.

Thought Sebastian Bach would be the guy they got. Would've been nice
Chris reminds me a little of the dude in the movie The hills have eyes,, sorry bloke
Chris slade really didnt get his place in the band...
do get this wrong, I love Axl in GnR but he was a terrible choice to fill in for Brian Johnson.
Hes sounded amazing. No one could have done it better.
Perfect voice for that material.

Chris had a lot of probems on this tour, his time was not good and theband had no groove compared to the 3 tours before it
