Ah gosh this reminds me about a Trotting horse I had to retrain, and the first time I rode him out he thought he was in a race, bless him, he went up in the air, on his hind legs, rearing up, because he thought he had to be in Front!! I had to lean forwards, and gently left my hands and lay off the reins to stay on and not pull him over onto his back on the road!! (he was my first horse I was riding,and retraining at this stables,a Baptism of Fire,lol!) I had to ask my two co-workers to ride behind him, this first time, ~until he realised he wasnt Expected to be in front!! After almost a week, he relaxed, llowing other ponies and horses ahead of him, he seemed Releaved to not have to be in front!!
Choo is a much more experienced driving horse, so yes - he definitely relies on us a lot less than Smokie who has just started out in his driving career :)

Hi. My husband and I love your channel! I have a question regarding the rings that the reins go through on the (I think) shoulder harness. Sometimes there are several rings in a vertical row while other times the rings are in a horizontal row. What are the rings and why the different configurations? Thank you!
Hi to you and your husband! The rings where the reins go through are called "turrets" - generally in single or pairs harness there are just a one single left and right ring on the saddle (middle section) and yoke (on their necks) to run the reins through. The extra ones you see (either in the middle or on top of eachother) are for driving in different combinations. For example, the middle ones are in use when we drive trandem (three horses in a horizontal row in front) and the top rings are used when we drive in a team or tandem (one or two horses in front of one or two others). As we may drive any combination, we never change the turrets or remove the ones that are not in use as they do no harm being there. Hope that helps - and thank-you for your interesting question!

It varies very much depending on the horse and the day. For example, one day they may be out all afternoon (with breaks) and the next day they may do a half an hour session in the yard. It all depends on what they're learning today, how they're taking it in and what we think they need to best progress. So no, they don't do 3 hours a day every day, but they all do something every day.

Smokey paying attention to you, Choo doing well, but not an ear back to you very seldom, but going down the road very confident.

We called that a nag strap. We used baling string also.

We use a combination of: iPhones, Go-Pros and Techalogic cameras.
It seems the strap from their heads is too short so one horse must bend head towards the other. Why?
It's not, it just may look that way because the bungee holds the reins from going over the pole.
