I always watch just before bedtime. The sound of the clip clopping of a horse's hooves and your kind and gentle voice Barry always settles my mind ready for sleep. Thank you for another informative and relaxing video.
What a gorgeous boy Smokie is! And well behaved. So nice to watch a horse being driven along a lovely green field margin for a change. So peaceful and, as you said, soft underfoot for him. I think a lot of us can relate to what you said about being a bit (or a lot) overweight puts enormous pressure on the feet!
He's a credit to you and your care of him, And, it's nice to see him a bit big,~ rather than poor!! He's a credit to your care and Barry and Rhi's training!! What an absolute darling!! You must be very proud of him!!😊❤
What a beautiful cob Barry 😍. He looks pretty chilled and happy to take his lessons with you 😂 you certainly give them so much confidence. It's such a pleasure to watch! 😊❤🌸
I want my horse to learn to pull a car. How do you train those horses to be this well behaved. Could you make a video about the training method you use
We can't do one video as all horses are different and need different approaches. So instead our training methods are what this entire channel is made of so hopefully we can help all kinds of horses and people :)
He seems to listen with his ears, is willing to walk. Like his braiding, Rhianna's work? Good thoughts on being careful with his feet and doing alternate training as obstacles as he makes health gains. He appears interested. Thanks for data on the different types of stored fats. A nice outing.
Rhi does the plaiting usually - but I think this time it was our young friend Jess' handiwork. She visited and she and her mum and sister took a real shine to Smokie!
Was his head shaking just wanting to go forward to the barn ? I did not see any flies any where else on him. Just curious, I think you are a great trainer.
@@barryhook2I remember the tiny midges sending my little harness pony CRACKERS - I checked why he was shaking his head so much and they were _crawling_ around in his ears and sucking blood. This was in the Peak District towards the end of the summer. I ended up sewing him little individual ear bonnets out of fine organda which attached to the headpiece of his bridle with cotton tape.

Lovely cob barry ..great video.
Good on you Barry! Love watching!
Could you do a video of this horse doing the obstacles the first few times? I would love to see how they do that in the cart!
We'll add it to the list!
Long road to get in shape, work hard, not too far from us humans.
Exactly!
Relaxing way to start my day - watching your peaceful training 🐴
What a darling cob!!
Thank you very much as always for explaining things so well!!
(I'm trying to keep my comments short!!)😊❤
Write as long a comment as you like - we always enjoy reading them! :)
I really enjoyed this video. Trying to pull a cart over rough ground. He's a willing little fellow. I hope he enjoys his carrot.

Those flies are quite annoying. Nice horse.

I didn't know there was 'hard fat' and 'soft fat'!
lovely cob

He did have very sweaty ears and midges about - we think it was that.

Poor boy is being bitten by flies. Very distracting.
Too many adds. Luckily you can skip these😊
