Oi, Bea! Love your lessons, they're charming, effective, highly useful and fun. I do have a suggestion for a lesson that might be a bit strange. It's about inflections and how they are used in everyday speech. For instance, I note that when Brasileiros ask questions, a rising inflection is not always used. I know there are other subtle differences as well...
Olá!! Tudo bem? It's great to hear all that! 😀 As for your lesson suggestion, I think I get what you mean, and it is not a strange request because I remember having to ask people *Was that a question?* - implying that there was no intonation or it was so subtle that I couldn't notice it. Besides inflections in questions, are there any other you would suggest I address? By the way, it would be a pleasure to have you in our Plain Portuguese Club meetings! 😊
@@PlainPortuguese Bom Dia! Obrigado pela sua resposta. Tenho pensado... Having rented in Campeche last year for six months, I noticed the musicality of Brasilian Português, including different inflections vs. US English when describing things, and when expressing emotions. However, this topic may not be suitable for a lesson, since it's somewhat vague. I am moving to Brasil this Fall to the greater Floripa area. Any ideas you have for my ongoing efforts at achieving fluency would be most appreciated! I certainly would pay for your consulting, even though you obviously love what you do. I guess immersion is the best way...
@@ronditorro4375 So you are moving to Floripa! 😃That's great! Floripa is such a beautiful place. But when it comes to the way people from Floripa speak, I must say that they have a peculiar accent.😊My suggestion is that you listen / watch content produced by people from Floripa. If you are into vlogs, you could follow ruclips.net/user/VibedeDois The girl is from Rio Grande Sul, but the boy is from Florianópolis. If I have any other recommendations, I'll definitely let you know. 😎
@@PlainPortuguese É muita gentileza sua, Bea! Tô assistindo os vlogs que você recomendeu. Sou um nômade digital também. A friend of mine in Rancho Queimado says quite a few people in SC have a German accent, which seems like the linguistic equivalent of adding soy sauce to Italian food. LOL
