Yannie sent me! Lol!, The flax seed is simmering as we speak. Thanks. Your voice is super soothing...ever thought of doing some guided meditation?.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Just saw Yannie’s video and came right over. I’ve just started my loc journey so I’m a little more excited for my retwist now. Wasn’t sure what I was going to use. My daughter and have micro two strand twist as our starter loc. Thank you for this tip. Greatly appreciated 😃👍🏾
Omygosh 1st recipe I found with honey and I'm a honey liver! This recipe came out perfect! I did add 1tsp of pure aloe gel, 1tsp of infused evoo, 1tbls of raw honey, 7 drops of tea tree oil as a preservative & 5 drops of jasmine EO for scent. I actually got 3 weeks worth of use out of it. Honey added the needed Midas touch! Flaxseed gel is the best. Ty for this simple video
Coilykinkchick hello lady... ☺️I'm writing because I'd like to know if the honey causes any bug or ant issues bc I've never used honey before but I'd like to. Please let me know. Thanks!
I have been having loss of hair in patches since i was young and there is not medication for it, but since learned of this gel and have been using it on my locs for 5 months now, the hair is growing back. Awesome stuff
Okay i just went to the store and got the ingredients. Even though this video is over 8 years long i searched all through yt to find someone to show me the best products i was lead to a woman named yonnies videos and she led me here. Im going to retwist my son's hair using this gel. I just dont have any pantyhose. Lol. Ill have to find something to strain the gel with. Thanks so much LocCrush. I've watched almost all your videos and you are the person im choosing to follow your advice. I even saw that you still respond to comments. I think that is awesome. Question, did you ever get into voice-over work?? Your voice is like lullabies.
I am so glad I ran across your channel. This is my second time locing, and I really would prefer to use whole organic products on my locs this time around.... and you are showing me some great ideas and suggestions. Yet, making them look really easy. Thanks for sharing!
Tried this on recommendation from another channel. Haven’t gotten a chance to use it on my hair but liking how the gel has turned out this far, still cooling. I did make some additions of my own, substituted one cup of water for aloe Vera liquid, added some vegetable glycerin to draw moisture, and 0.5% preservative to extend its shelf life once it cooled down below 90 degrees.
I’m a fan for using flaxseed gel since I was loose natural but once I’ve started my locs I was a little skeptical and my hair has no complaints it still keeps it moisturize.. I definitely will try adding raw honey with it..
I just started my second round of locs. I started my locs using the finger coil method so far so good. but when its time for my retwist this will be my go to. I'll probably make a small batch so that it don't go to the waste unless I end up using a preservative. Thanks for sharinng.
I have permed hair and I love this gel on it. I also made your shampoo and pre poo. Thank you so much I'm going to make this for gifts to my grand children.
6/12/20 I watched a video where Yannie said follow Loc Crush. So being that I take heed to her words, here I am. Could I use the brown color flaxseeds? The sprouts here in Nevada seem not to have the golden ones or are sold out
Hi, I love this video. Thanks to Almighty Yannie the Locologist, who mentioned you on her video about flaxseed gel. Please can I mix the flaxseed gel with pure aloe very, instead of honey or must it be Honey?
Omgoodness... Thank you sooo sooo much for making this video. I know it's old to you, but it's new to me! Thanks to @CurlyNuGrowth aka Jocelyn Reneé, (who referred me to you, btw!) I've learned how to take care of my locs, (the correct way, lol!), and now I am actually making the majority of my own haircare & skincare products at home now! So our #NuGrowthChallenge will be ending tomorrow! It's actually been longer than 8 weeks for me, (14 to be exact), so I'm gonna need something stronger than aloe vera to hold my retwist in place, and this recipe is perfect!!! Thanks again!!!
Like the idea of the flaxseed gel... will attempt to make although I will need to find an alternate substitute for the honey... i just started my loc journey but loose natural for 10years+...just finished wrapping up a v blog on essential oil...thanks for sharing this. look forward to more of ur videos
Thanks for sharing your recipe. I just started my locs a couple weeks ago and am documenting my journey on YT. I have enjoyed following your pics on IG :-)
I follow Yainnie and she referred you on one of her tutorials . I am going on one year and four months of my loc journey and have been looking for products to re-twist my own hair that will not leave a buildup/residue or drying out my hair. With that been send I’m going to try your flex seed gel and rose water. Thank you for your advise.
Loc Crush, is it okay to use the flax seed gel on my locs once a week. I am lost my hair due to surgery I had in February and want my locs to get stronger day by day by using natural maintenance on my hair. I knew I would lose my hair but I want to try and minimize the affects to my locs. Thank you for any advice or suggestions.
Hi. I was wondering if you could infuse the flaxseed gel with essential oils that are good for hair, like 4 or 5 drops of tea tree and rosemary or coconut and peppermint? what do you think? will you experiment for us?
Blessings Loc Crush, I'm going to start my locs with two strand twist. Would you recommend using the flaxseed gel + honey for starting my loc journey to help hold it? I truly appreciate your time and care with your informative videos. Sincerely,Desiree
hello, i just wanted to first say, i love your locs and you and so many other loc beauties here on YT have finally gave me the courage to loc my hair (going on three months now) and I am always been on the hunt for something with some great hold and I believe this might do the trick. but I have a question... do you still add the raw honey to your mix?
Your locs are amazing and so thick. I was wondering what is the hold like please and any residue or flaking? i have a small packet of linseeds im eager to try
Just came from Yannie who referred you. I like the concept of using this gel to retwist instead of traditional. My only concerns is it last for two weeks. However its not recommended to retwist locks that often.
I have a small pack of linseed I bought for this purpose and excited to try it but not seen many vids of successful loc retwists with the gel. Do you have a video uploaded? Thanks.
i have been interlocing for 6 years now. already not blessed with full edges, i need to try something new and save them somehow. as a vegan i cant use honey but i‘ll try this tomorrow. wish me luck 😭
I’m having trouble straining through the panty hose. I’ve bought two different kinds of panty hose and they both were difficult to impossible to strain through. What kind of stockings are you using or what do you recommend?
How well would this old for someone that works out consistently? Do you think flaxseed has a better hold than aloe gel. Thank you for the video and information
Was sent by Yannie's video. I've used flaxseed gel on my natural hair before starting my loc journey and I would have the worst flake buildup ever. No matter the recipe I tried just white flakes everywhere. How is this any different
Looks nice! Quick question, I heard honey was bad for locs when it comes to build up! Is this true? I'm trying to stay away from products bought in the store like Eco style gel. Thanks for the informative videos! ✌🏾️😊
When mixed in with the flaxseed gel, honey doesn't create buildup. It's not sticky in the gel. It has great soothing benefits for the scalp; that's why I love it :)
Just referred to you by Yannie! Ive just started my journey so Im new to the loc community. May I ask how long you let it boil for? Or do you just watch for the consistency to change?
Miguel Badillo overhead dryers dry my scalp out too much. Because I have seborrheic dermatitis, I stay clear of them. However, to speed up the air drying process, you could use a blow dryer to avoid the direct artificial heat on your scalp
Yannie sent me your way❤️ Never thought about putting raw honey in the gel. I'm gonna try this🍯😊
Yes yannie sent me too
Same
Lol me too
Me too 😊
Same
I watched Yannie’s video today like everyone else and came right here 😂

That recipe sounds awesome! Glad this works well for you, too :)
Coilykinkchick hello lady... ☺️I'm writing because I'd like to know if the honey causes any bug or ant issues bc I've never used honey before but I'd like to. Please let me know. Thanks!
Jessie BEE hey there :) I haven’t experienced any such issues 💛
Works great, and I tried freezing the unused portion…that works great as well. Thank you.
Yep, me too! Yannie used to do my hair, I trust her advice.... she never steered us wrong! 😊😊😊
I have been having loss of hair in patches since i was young and there is not medication for it, but since learned of this gel and have been using it on my locs for 5 months now, the hair is growing back. Awesome stuff
Yannie sent me your way and as a loc starter I am completely in love with what I saw ...... Great tips!
Great video. To the point and clear instructions. Thank you. I will try this.
Thank you. Let me know how you like it.
Your voice is so soothing! Excited to try this recipe! Thanks!

Thank you :) Please do & let me know how it turns out for you.
Voice over work? I've never thought about that but will now. Thank you :)

Juliana Cheatem I'm so happy to hear that! Perfect gifts 💛💛💛
does the flaxseed gel with honey give you any kind of build-up? Does the honey cause any mold or mildew growth?
Thank You 🙏🏿 ❤️
6/12/20 I watched a video where Yannie said follow Loc Crush. So being that I take heed to her words, here I am. Could I use the brown color flaxseeds? The sprouts here in Nevada seem not to have the golden ones or are sold out
Jeannah Tey hi there :) Yes you can use the brown flaxseeds. I find that it makes a thicker gel 💛
Hi, I love this video. Thanks to Almighty Yannie the Locologist, who mentioned you on her video about flaxseed gel. Please can I mix the flaxseed gel with pure aloe very, instead of honey or must it be Honey?
Same here. Just saw Yannie's video.

You can skip the honey and still have good results :) I like the honey for the added hold and shine and also for the soothing benefits to my scalp.

Hi. I was wondering if you could infuse the flaxseed gel with essential oils that are good for hair, like 4 or 5 drops of tea tree and rosemary or coconut and peppermint? what do you think? will you experiment for us?
Yes, you certainly can. Or you can create a mixture of oils separately to spritz your hair with :)
Blessings Loc Crush, I'm going to start my locs with two strand twist. Would you recommend using the flaxseed gel + honey for starting my loc journey to help hold it?
I truly appreciate your time and care with your informative videos.

Arlene Arnold Thank you :) Congrats on starting your journey! Yes, I do still use raw honey; I love the hold it gives :)
Love the natural method! How do you feel about chia seeds? I think that would make a pretty good gel too
Do you still moisturize your hair before you use the flaxseed gel?
Your locs are amazing and so thick. I was wondering what is the hold like please and any residue or flaking? i have a small packet of linseeds im eager to try
Lol at the voice over comment....I was thinking the same thing
Thank you :) I'll definitely have to consider that.
Just came from Yannie who referred you. I like the concept of using this gel to retwist instead of traditional. My only concerns is it last for two weeks. However its not recommended to retwist locks that often.
Hi imma order my online.. is it a certain brand I should be getting?!
I have a small pack of linseed I bought for this purpose and excited to try it but not seen many vids of successful loc retwists with the gel. Do you have a video uploaded? Thanks.
I will have it up soon :)
Great Vid LC!!!! It's been a week since I started my loc journey, I'm glad I found You! I follow you on IG as well. Love & Light Beautiful!
Thank you :) Congrats on starting your journey!
Does putting oil keep from getting flakey? I did it without oiland it got white and flakey!
Will this work for fine soft loose mid back curly starter locs? So far aloe gel isn’t holding it at all. I’m using gel and it’s working great so far.
i have been interlocing for 6 years now. already not blessed with full edges, i need to try something new and save them somehow. as a vegan i cant use honey but i‘ll try this tomorrow. wish me luck 😭
I am here because of Yannie the locogist 😊😊 nice recipe

kyle lyle yes, in my opinion flaxseed gel holds better than aloe vera, especially with the added honey.
kyle lyle in general, flaxseed gel has a light hold
Yanni sent we over 😂😂😂
Does it leave any build up in your hair?
Does this gel last two weeks only or can you keep it for a longer amount of time? I guess what Im askin is does this gel have an expiration date? 😁😁
Two weeks, maybe three if you add a natural preservative, such as a few drops of essential oils.
Wow...that's a creative solution!
Yesssssssssss
Could I use regular honey if I don't have any raw honey on hand?
New subscriber here👋🏾💜🙋🏾♀️
Of course I’m here from Yannie ❤️
Do u HV to use honey or it has a replacement fr honey
The honey is for added moisture and shine.
I never get that much gel just by using 2 cups of water, even when I turn the stove down......
How often do you retwist?
Ok something's wrong ..i tried it on my boyfriend and it makes snowflakes on his hairs😩 why?
did u add an oil like vitamin e oil or even an essential oil to the flaxseed gel ?
the oil prevents flakes
wow you make that look so easy. I must try to re-twist my starter locs with this gel. What do you think? thanks for sharing!!
I say definitely give it a try :) The honey adds a firmer hold than just the flaxseed gel alone.
I'm here because Annie sent me🥰
The voice😍
Was sent by Yannie's video. I've used flaxseed gel on my natural hair before starting my loc journey and I would have the worst flake buildup ever. No matter the recipe I tried just white flakes everywhere. How is this any different

Loc Crush wow thanks! ima try this next time my gf retwists my hair i'll let you know how i like it
+Loc Crush (loccrush) would you recommend this recipe for starter locs?
ooooh I am making some this weekend. I remember you like rose water have you ever used the rose water for the gel?
Yes!! :)
Yannie sent me here!
Where can you purchase the Golden Flaxseeds?
Just referred to you by Yannie! Ive just started my journey so Im new to the loc community. May I ask how long you let it boil for? Or do you just watch for the consistency to change?
She said 20 to 30 min I believe
The entire process should take 20-30 minutes but this gel thickens quickly!!! I made mine in about 20 minutes flat and it's perfect!
Loc Crush the FSG (flax seed gel) is special works very very well fivestar!***** NewbieVLoc
Could I make this gel with whole hemp seeds?
DOES IT HAVE A HOLD?
Yes, the honey gives it more hold than without. But it gives a light hold still.
Fannie sent me your way
Yes .. sent by Yannie raw honey tho ? Hmm raw isn’t sweet right?
loccrush when you retwist with flaxseed after a wash do you dry your hair with a dryer? do you think that's ok?
Miguel Badillo overhead dryers dry my scalp out too much. Because I have seborrheic dermatitis, I stay clear of them. However, to speed up the air drying process, you could use a blow dryer to avoid the direct artificial heat on your scalp
Oh okay thank you loccrush I appreciate it.. iam growing my hair out again, iam keeping my locs this time.
does this have a scent? and can u add essential oils for smell?
There's no scent. And yes, definitely add some EO's :)
How long did you let it simmer for?
Less than 20 minutes.
is it okay to use without honey? or the honey balance the smell or something?
/same question. Fir about 9 years now i have used strictly EVOO and my blend of scented oils. Been locd since 2005. Thanks for this
does this gel leave your locs with any flakes like most gels do?
No, not at all. It dries completely clean.
okay great! thanks.
