I agree as well. In comparison to the Ford Escape and Nissan Kicks, the petty things I found that I didn't like are seemingly shorter sideview mirrors, 2 type C chargers and one car charger in the middle console (I thought the front middle dimly lit area was hopefully a wireless charger, but no.. just an awkward place to put your plugged in phone. Nissan Kicks had the audacity to have a better reverse camera from the bird's eye view and beeping sounds when parallel parking (which is not new but still helpful) too close to cars. They also have downward extending sun visors and THAT is a game changer for us short people. I've had my car for 3 months and I have yet to find the rear windshield wiping control. For the amount we're paying, you would at least hope for front seats to both have adjustable lumbar support and height. What kind of car doesn't have back row ventilation? The Honda. 😮💨 I guess it makes up its shortcomings by having exceptional gas mileage 🚗💨
Im actually excited for the hard plastic. I like to keep my cars for thousands of miles and the leather in my 2016 toyota corolla completely faded away in certain spots.
Great review! I was shopping various Hondas around this price point and drove one of these. CPO passport was $500 cheaper so I did that, but these are great appliances for what it’s worth. Also yeah I noticed newer center consoles don’t have lights even in some expensive cars, annoying that they’re cutting little stuff like that and two map pockets etc.
No literally the majority of accord buyers want a reliable, economical, and spacious car that’s somewhat affordable. This checks all those boxes. If you want something more fun the hybrid is surprisingly quick and comes with much better wheels
@@azizkizbayev439 unfortunately all the mid-size cars start around 27k for a base trim. You might get lucky with a 25k dollar car at the end of the year.
The problem is a last-gen Accord EX felt much closer to a top of the line Touring model than this does. Now, part of it is the Touring for this generation is just better than last gen's Touring. But the EX definitely has some clear cost-cutting on the door panels and the infotainment. I drove this and it felt less premium than a last-gen EX. Could just be me tunnel-visioning on the cost-cutting details, but those are my thoughts.
Charlie this model is very expensive Having rubber wheel, no mirror turn signal cloth seats no rear vents no connectivity horrible sound insulation small screen No Auto rear closing windows Camry SE upgrade offers all above and cheaper by 2K
Great point. But camry tech feels old, isn't as smooth of a ride for me, and didn't give me the luxury classy feel. Camry gives a more sporty rough feel. But both awesome rides
@@LTGONZ0 Not to mention Camrys suspension tuning it's super awkward I daily a 2020 and honestly the suspension does not give confidence in cornering etc and it's the SE model. Tech IS old feeling for sure., One thing though that 8 speed and the base engine is surprisingly strong .. especially highway passing from 55-80 I was pleased at the amount of torque in reserves and the ability to really feel comfortable passing ..
Lol you really loathed that steering wheel and i can definitely agree. This gives my 2008 base accord coupe vibes i hated the steering wheel but everything eless was great. One thing they could have omitted in exchange for the leather steering wheel is the dual climate.. its overrated honestly most people sync temps anyways
With this compared to the 1.5 in the Civic… I think it is the same thing for the Toyota Crown. Everyone complains about the sedan but they praise the signia- they are basically the same vehicle just a different rear and grill.
As a owner of a much loved 2020 Sport 2.0T, I can say that the Accord went from fun, fast and aggressive to bland, vanilla, slow, heavy, and lumpy. It looks like a dressed-up 4yr old Malibu ...... but with less power.
@Khaled-eo9mr Really ?? You very own one ?? Because my 2016 V6 Accord was a monster and my 2020 2.0T Sport does 0-100km/hr in under 6 seconds with 253hp and 273ft lbs of torque. Stick to your high mileage Hyundai Elantras buddy. Uber drivers love them.
I really don't like how Hondas all look alike inside. I mean, I like the design, but damn if I'm paying for an Accord I don't want the civic to look as good! Otherwise, might as well get the civic!!!

Ha, the air vent in the rear is there, but it turns out it's for show as it DOES NOT WORK !! No air comes out. Dealership said didn't know what to fo about that. I do, tell Honda to STOP lying to customers about its features !!
This is the freaking problem. I want this car but there's no rear seat ventilation. How am I going to cool off my passengers? With a long tube or hose? I would rather have no dual climate and or heated seats but have the ventilation. Ztupid decision.
So, would you still get one, but use top grade gas, or would you avoid the 1.5t altogether? I need a car asap, and actually like how the new Accord looks.
@@sherrikwhiteside6107 honestly. my 1.5t is running well with 93 gas being used. honda dealerships are now telling ppl to use higher octane on 1.5t. i love my accord and i wouldn't change it.
Not a real fan of the 1.5 turbo. Oil dilution has NOT been fixed & this has been going on since 2017. Honda needs to do better. Wished i had bought the Camry, but i will be definitely trading this in for some other brand, probably Toyota. Sorry Honda, you lost a customer & long time Honda owner. I think the exact same way as Charlie with this car. Only a few ppl understand the benefits of this over SUVs.

I just purchase the same trim level for $29k OTD the ride is smoother than the new Camry imo

I tested Camry and accord. Accord wins with more pep, great looks, and comfortable cabin.

When you temper your expectation and just see the ex trim for what it is, it's a fantastic competent car.

Wow, they neutered this thing.
The reason they did this is because the Prelude is coming out.
And for practicality, I’ve been recommending the crv instead. It fits family life better.
If you want something fast get a fast car. The accord has always been meant to be a fuel economy daily driver

What cars do you recommend in this segment? I desperately need to upgrade. I don’t trust this 1.5t engine.

This thing could cost $15k and do 75mpg, and I still be embarrassed to drive it
I wouldn’t mind it frankly, it’s a car.
If you’re an enthusiast I get it, but it’s an accord it’s a very mass market car and this fits the bill of “I want a nice sedan” for 95% of people
Your just an uneducated follower
It don’t matter what people think. If you got bank in the bank and take care of your family who cares what they think
Why buy Accord when you can get a more attractive Camry??
Because not everyone thinks the Camry is more attractive. Camry is a good car but dated rental car look to me.
Because some like myself think the Camry is ugly….
