- The NEW Accord is getting a ton of attention because of the Honda redesign. The EX trim tries to bring as mush value for you hard earned money that it can with making sure you have plenty of amenities. On the outside of the Accord EX you will discover dark grey 17in wheels, FULL LED lighting and a sunroof. In the inside you will be greeted by leather interior, heated seats, and 10.25in digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 192HP & is mated to a CVT. Is the 2023 Honda Accord EX the BEST new midsize sedan to buy?

You’re the best in car reviews, very knowledgeable and with a little bit of history in every video, whenever I wanna see a car review in depth i look for it in your videos first than anybody. Thanks Raitis Ride !
I bought the EX Im in love!!!!
That is so wonderful! Congrats!
Thankyou so much Joe for testing lower and mid-level trims on most of your reviews,,,the ones most people buy/lease.
Hey Joe! If you remember Golf King, that’s me! You inspired me to start a channel doing my own style of reviews. I’m loving it so far! I can’t get my hands on sick cars like you though haha
love the review, detail in the storage capacity always on point!
I just brought the Meteorite Gray EX and I love, love, love it! I originally was looking at the white when I saw the gray on gray on gray and fell instantly in love!
and have the exact one but in red! looks so amazing! In love too :)
Nice review keep up the good work Joe
Man, I have no idea why so many people are saying this is a bland looking car. I saw one in a parking lot today, it just looked so sharp. And in black with the pinstripe rims? Be still my heart. Car looks much better in person. I know that’s a weird thing to say but it’s true.
It looks OK from the back, however are you sure you looked at it from the front? When we saw one in person we thought just the opposite. That it looked worse in person. Perhaps it was the color. We looked at a white one in person and it was very disappointing.
My neighbor a few blocks down has one already, it is indeed bland.
very true it looks sooo much better in person!!
I love it Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍
One of the first ones! Love your videos joe!
I was interested in buying an EX trim but it seemed like pretty bland styling compared to my 2018 Accord Sport. I ended up buying an Acura Integra A Spec trim . The dealer gave me what I wanted for my Accord trade and even knocked $1000 off the MSRP on the Integra. I was thrilled.
Good choice. Even though I don't mind this new accord styling, the Integra is more premium all around. It's a little smaller but more useful space with the lift back hatch.
1.5t Sport Accord?
@@Rip84LW Does not exist All Sport models are hybrids with a 2.0 NA engine.
do you feel Acura Integra is better than Honda EX-L and in which ways, will appreciate your response
@aditya gupta based on looks along I'd choose the Integra. The new civic/integra is a lot bigger inside then you think. The manual version actually feels quick, even the cvt didn't feel terrible (though in reality its really slow). I'd still choose the Integra over this since I just can't get past these looks
I bought one brand new car with a CVT, one was enough! Never again. It was just one more reason I went with the K5 GT LINE, a real 8 speed automatic transmission. Great car, very happy with it.
6:25 That white 2022 Accord is looking gorgeous next to this plain looking new Accord. I wonder if they expect people to buy body kits and modify their accords! It would look 🔥🔥🔥 because as is, it’s just way too plain!
I was thinjing the same thing
Good catch. The majority says "please just upgrade the infotainment screen and crab claw rear lights." Honda says "Cool we'll upgrade that and, as a bonus, hard downgrade everything else about the car!"
i think the 2023 accord is more elegant
2023 Accord automatically adds 5-6 years to your life and grey hair starts showing up.
this is the most oldest new car design yet. 30k and no rear ac vents and charging ports, honda went super cheap this year with all their models.
Went to see a Pilot EX-L and no sunroof on a 43k car, amazing.
they removed side mirror signals and fog lights as well
Try no sunroof on the $109k Raptor R. At least its an option.
@@obedjimenez4229 People paying over $100k on a truck don't care to add $10k in options but those spending on a budget family haulers sure do find it hard for the options to be removed from new gen when they were already present in older year models.
192hp is criminal...thats a joke
That’s why I bought a Santa Fe Calligraphy. 280 HP, 311 Torque,Panoramic Sun Roof, and all the tech you can handle. I know it’s a Hyundai, but I love it. Not your dad’s Hyundai any more.
Man I can't tell you how much I appreciate your reviews. Absolutely the best car review guy hands down.
That brought back memories 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤣🤣 when you said " blow on NES cartridge " those were the days , thank you for that and the laugh or what about up up down down left right left right 😎
lovely car Joe! Good job
I got a nice blue colored one over the weekend. I was a bit disappointed in the new body compared to the sharper look on the previous model. But it’s growing on me and the blue color is really nice
youre a follower. lol Purchasing ugly ass cars, and forcing yourself to like it.
I wish they would have added led fog lights
Agreed, I like cars with foglights
They cut it on all models as well as side mirror signals, and rear vents for almost all trims. Super cheap
@Striker 50 yeah that's sad, I think only the Civic Touring has foglights now in the car line up.
@@jakejake8432 Yeah they cut way too many things from the Accord
@@Striker50_ sheesh, even my WRX has fog lights
I agree with Stephen. I hate that light going all of the way across.
looks cheap and way too much unneeded plastic
I don't know why people are going off on the styling of this car.. I had a 2019 Accord EXL, 2.0 AND IT WAS ODD LOOKING . THE FRONT BACK AND SIDES WERE TERRIBLE LOOKING.. THE INSIDE WAS OKAY.. I'M GLAD THEY REDESIGNED THAT MONSTROSITY😅
Maybe they will like it more in person Charles.
@@RaitisRides Maybe some will.. looks are subjective. It is definitely a lot more button-downed than the last generation.. A lot cleaner and leaner as well.. Honda used to have a motto in the early 2000's.. Less is More.
I just bought one 2 days ago, in meteorite grey metallic. Really liking it so far. Yes rear vents and charging ports would have been nice.
out of all the choices, you chose this accord .. =/
Totally agree with Steven about lighting not going from end to end.
Idk why everyone is hating on the way it looks😂 I really like it. The last generation looked overstyled. This looks sleek and simple. The only midsize sedans that look better are the mazda6(which I own so I'm biased) (also rip) and the K5. This is definitely better than the angry hammerhead shark/robot camry or the catfish sonata.
I know it is not for everyone.
Hey! catfish sonata takes offense to that
What up Joe? Accord time!
Thank you for this review! Ironically, I am getting the exact model and color this Friday! I'm basically watching my car in action! Can't go wrong in a Honda!
Did you get it? How is it so far? Just curious about how comfortable the seats are and how quite is the cabin.
@Blue Point Yes, it's sitting in my garage. The car is great. The cabin is quiet. It feels more expensive than it was. Two things stick out for me: thr CVT transmission will take some getting used to. They have improved it, but initially, you will be wondering why the car isn't shifting. Another area is the door handles. While they work great, you have this feeling that if you pull real hard or quickly, you might break it. Maybe it's me being gentle because it's new. Otherwise, it's great so far. The car has very good passing power at highway speeds. It looks big, but it feels so light. It feels lighter than my 1987 Prelude Si.
@@pointsur67 Congratulations!!! and thank you very much for this detailed response, it was very helpful!
thats funny hope you love your new car! i just bought the same but red lol
@a.d.7922 I have almost four thousand miles on it and it's great!
Mighty Morphing Accord….morphing back to 2003 Body
Honda sold over 397,000 Accords in 2003. The 10th generation was the worst ever.. They only sold 147,000 in 2022. Accord sales suffered a steep decline since 2018.
I love my 22 sport SE and thought I didn’t like the new redesign, but it’s actually growing on me now! Of course both the 22 and 23 have some zonks, but the 23 design is actually pretty solid 😌
Hasn't grown on me yet
Nice review. Two comments! 1) In another review, you mentioned you would not spend an additional money to get the sunroof. Here you said a sunroof would be nice (which means higher trims and more spending) 2) In another review, you criticized badges that show trim of the car. Here you suggested adding an EX badge.
🤔🤔
Too slow
I just got my new Accord ( in blue) today! Loving it so far.
That is so wonderful congrats Catherine!
I really love this!!!
CVT...? You're killing me Honda...! I've been so loyal, and this is what I get ???
@Brian Lee sorry man, but CVTs are not for people like me that enjoy driving their cars. I've been driving manuals for 35+ years now.
Man the old generation BLOWS this out of the water... This looks so boring and basic haha wow. Saw one today and couldn't believe this was the approved design.
I've owned three Hondas and am still waiting for the new Camry. Pretty sure it will be a hybrid also as they get rid of the V6 just like Honda did with the 2.0 L Turbo. Cars aren't as fun when you look back and find better cars in the past than in the future. (For example; CRX Si, Prelude, V6 manual Accord Coupe, and the last generation Honda Accord Sport 2LT.)
Great ride
I appreciate you being so supportive!
I’m so happy I bought a 2021 Mazda 6 turbo 2 years ago
Oh I bet you are
Right around the corner!
Saw the faced lifted Sonota it's better looking inside out
That 2018 accord styling was perfect
Joe, can you please recommend me a SALAD that will fit, next time? Thanks!
Hilarious and a true salesman. I just bought the same car yesterday.
This will give Buick a run for its money with the 65 and over crowd 😂
😂
Nothing wrong with that.
Hell nahhhh 😂
For real, Honda went backwards.
As a 50 year old what should I be looking at in this class?
Would love to see the 2023 BMW X1! I’ve seen many people review it but i only watch you and Redline reviews 😂
Hey Raiti's Rides How Are You Can You Make The 2023 Hyundai Sonata Limited! Great Video Have A Nice Day
Nice to see that Ford brought the Taurus back. Don't know why there's a Honda badge on it though.
I have a feeling the new 11 gen civic will outsell the new accord.
Same
especially once they release the hybrid
Literally! Who would choose an accord when you can get a better or similar power train with the civic. I think honda really shot themselves in the foot with this gen
If you want a glorified civic just get an integra
@@mattjelanialmost 10k more and they couldn't even add 5 extra hp... 😂😂
I had a 1994 Honda accord and it had the ex badge on the back so yeah I definitely think they should have the badge on the back 🏎💨🤙
agree!
I would buy one, except, I DO NOT WANT THAT TOUCH SCREEN IN MY FACE WHILE DRIVING. Honda, put the touch screen in the lower dash.
Nice 2002 Ford Taurus
I can't lie, I'm a Honda Accord guy but I'm definitely not feeling this car😢
A house a few blocks down already has one of these in the driveway. It's weird, it looks like an Accord, but looks like an Accord from a previous generation long ago somehow. Like if it was an accord 20 years ago, but yet still screams "Accord". The last gen was definitely more flamboyant and stylish.
I just seen the 2024 Hyundai sonata, can't wait for that review!
Hyundai is shit
EX Does not guarantee Blind Spot Monitoring as it should! Heads up here!
Can’t believe for an EX, there is no vent in the backseat.
Oh that’s a cool ford fusion
Sorry it’s a big Zonk on Honda for getting rid of the in line V-6. I am glad Toyota still offers the V-6 in the Camry.
Inline V6?😅
Ummmm, you can't have both lmfao!!!
Either inline 4 or v6, thoes were the options man 😂
V6 is gas guzzler. Honda likes its 1.5T or hybrid
@@RKO859 nahh the 2.0 was their strongest motor
@@RKO859 The 1.5 Accords are having a lot of trouble blowing head gaskets and other issues. Oil dilution is still a problem as well in cold areas.
Pinstripes went out with 80's Cadillacs. I agree with Steven I hate the Dodge Durango full width led tail light look as well. Did Honda cheap out and take away the rear seat passenger air vents on the rear of the center console?
Everything about this car is cheap
You get more bang for your buck with the Camry SE, especially in terms of safety features.
Same with the LE as well, if you option it out.
Bro it a Toyota bot 💀
@15:44 don't ever forget about the 2.0T. It's a crime it was not carried over.
It really hurts!
The Platinum white, actually makes it look like an undercover cop car. It's the one color I would never get in the Honda Accord. I was at my local Honda dealer who had 20 of the white models. In every customer walking through the place walked right by them to the ones that had other colors.
Literally brought my 23' home today. There was only 2 in the lot. Same trim level. One white. One meteor grey. Didn't even think twice. I'll take the grey
@@203Rez I can't quite understand this constant statement of a lack of inventory. My dealer still has more than 50 brand-new a cord sitting right next to each other. It is the Civic which I think are nicer-looking, that he can't keep in stock.
Glad it has physical buttons not a fan of all the touch screens in modern vehicles. I like the design for the last gen better. 12:12 so am I joe more options the better . Also we're in the decade of 2020 how is back seat ac not a main thing?
That's a nice Lincoln Mark Vlll sedan!
Lmao😂😂
Sedan 4 life!
Put a light bar on it, would make a great cop car lol.
This looks SOLID
I have a 2023 Altima 2.0 and love it! My friend just got his 23 Accord Touring. I like it but I wouldn’t get one
Thanks for sharing that ownership input Chris!
Honestly the Altima is nicer but it wasn’t always like that like even a year ago wow
@@chocolatewheelchair I had a 21 Altima before my 23 and a 19 Accord before the Altima.

I agree with Steven. I don't think full light bars look good. I like the breakup in the middle.
JOEBALL: this car is relevant. You don’t have to grow up today. Congrats.
I totally agree that the Ex model should have a different style of rim from the Lx model. And I wish they would go back to the badging on all the models. If I'm spending money for extra amenities/perks then I want it to show
Looks good in the white with those wheels ! Funny how sometimes wheels can make or break a vehicle. Good price too $$
good point about the wheels!
Wish they would’ve added a larger screen. Only the hybrid models have large screens. 😢
Liking for the NES cartridge reference!
Man that thing looks futuristic! Great review again Joe. Keep it up!
The thumb nail looked like it was a review for a 2000 prelude. Imagine my surprise when it’s a review for a 2023 accord. At least we got to see a return of those calves. 😅
Rental car transportation companies are going to have a field day with this car. It’s a good car I like it,I think it’s more for people who are the average Joe. Very nice review of this accord joe and I agree with you Steven and awesome camera work as always. ❤ but you want to know what would be awesome if Honda had the Honda badge light up like Volkswagen with the new atlas.

The worlds first driving appliance. This thing has about as much sex appeal as a refrigerator. The 2024 Sonata is better styled with a better warranty and a 3 year maintenance plan! I see Honda rushing to refresh this next year like the did with the 2012 Civic and rushed to redesign it for 2013. Times are a changing, Joe!

Hey, Joe which one would you buy the Toyota Camry or the Honda accord.
Toyota obviously
I've been waiting for your review of this car. The new design looks like an old Buick to me. I just like my 2020 2.0T😅 The new civics are nice though.
Seems like Honda took a step back on every level with this generation. My 22 2.0t can get 32 mpg on the highway.
How are you getting 32 mpg on the 2.0. I barely get 19 or 20 mpg on mine mostly city but when i do only highway the most i get is 25 mpg

First thing I do when I buy a car is take the badges off, except for the front/back logos.
I wish Honda would increase the head and shoulder room in the Accord.
So ive been seeing alot of people giving this new accord crap but i like it. I think it actually looks better than the previous model. The Accord EX I am looking at does not come with blind spot monitors due to the chip shortage. But they are also taking off $550 from the MSRP as a result. Would you say the "Blind Spot Information w/Cross Traffic Monitor" is worth $550?
In terms of worth, if it were an option you were selecting on a vehicle, the upcharge would be way higher than $550.
Or you could say that if that system had to be replaced, the part(s) would likely exceed $550.
