- tim booth sings the smiths "heaven knows i m miserable now' at Manchester Passion, the story of Jesus Christ's last few hours told through the meaning of music by Manchester musicians.
awesome luv tim booth emotion in his voice
What a beautiful city we have and I am proud to be a christian watching this wish theyd do it all again :0)
Im Catholic and [proud too, im from Leicester love James soooo much, Morrissey to me seems arrogant but he releases great music, but James to me are loads better without the ego of Morrissey
It comes from a re-enactment of the Passion of Christ performed in Manchester city centre on Good Friday 2006, using old songs from the 'madchester' music scene. Holds its own doesnt it? I love it!
I loved this when I saw it live, and it still sounds fantastic
Yes, Morrisey did indeed say that JAMES were his favourite band . . the best band ever . .
when did he say that? Im curious. Thanks
We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful, was about James apparently
Many years ago I was lucky to see a gig....in Liverpool.....James, NewOrder, John Cooper Clark...the fall and finally ...the Smiths....whats a gig......Feb 86
Goosebumps and shivers
Thanks for posting the video. Morrissey and James...I'll let others argue who is better; I feel fortunate that I've been able to hear so many of my favorite songs because of them.
🌾🌾🌾
Time has proven that James are better
Wow, love this, back in 85 got to BrixtonAcademy in time to see the unknown support band..........been in love ever since.
You know, I've seen so many good videos in youtube, but this one is exceptional, i've probably watched it over 100 times this week.
What a great cover, thanks a lot for sharing this diamond.

These comments make me such a proud manc! Tim and stephen patrick. , should write a manchester anthem , one as good as , sit down or there is a light !
Heheh, awesome. No other city but my beloved Manchester would even think of doing such a thing!
Well, they did a liverpool nativity
you also give morrissey some respect for writing these awesome lines... who would've known 15 years they would have this much meaning... but Tim.... you WIN... sing again as only you could.... we miss James!
Amazing! love it! but I shouldn't be surprised...its Tim!
Start at 2:14 and watch Tim Booth's acting and singing, it's very compelling. Full of pathos as he reflects in the garden of Gethsemane, knowing he's about to be betrayed and die. Had me convinced he was Jesus, definitely. It's a rehearsal for a Passion play/
Imagine the fear in this man's heart as he watched his sleeping friends and realized one would rat him out, he'd be hated betrayed spit on and condemned by "people who don't care if I live or die" - knowing his death would be horrendous, he also knows he'll go for it anyway, it's his destiny. yet the fear! you don't have to accept the story of the man Jesus to feel empathy and compassion for the whole situation - a man who only wanted to share his new ideas about love, then is killed by hate.
Im a Catholic I obviously am a believer, Jesus knowing that he was going to go through all that torment and pain is someone we all should look up to, (Im not trying to convert people) but just think about them days, and yet it still gets brought up now in films and songs, yes I like Morrissey doing it he is a genius with lyrics but his ego is to much for me, Tim from James doing it is good especially after Morrissey slagged James off in 1 of his songs (We hate it when our friends become successful) but hey ho thats Morrissey for ya..
You do realise that Tim booth is playing Judas, right?
The song is him realising he's made a terrible mistake.
Tim Booth is a very versatile man,he also did a cameo in batman as the baddie lol.Amazing songwriter and James live are my favourite hobby.Top quality always

He Is such a man . They are such a band.
please tell me how i can watch it all.........
@Barbara Kerr 😄
Tim Booth sings this from his heart, even though Morrissey slagged him and his band James off through 1 of his songs, you gotta give it to Tim for saying fuck him he has made out for so many years we are close and then we get a good single and Morrissey dont like it so he makes a song slagging us, sad man morrissey, but his early music was good, sour old grey dude..
In the early days Morrissey paid (!) so that James could support The Smiths
No just no, did Morrissey tell you that himself, or have you read his autobiographies, the end of the day Morrissey is a Diva he even ripped his own band off for millions, well him and Marr did, read Folklore James biography if you can afford it as its well expensive all the right info is in there, I easily believe what comes out of Tim's mouth rather than Morrissey's, but its up to you what you believe..
Necesito los acordes
@DressSmartLookHard Yeah! I actually wasn't paying attention to the vid...only when I heard the weird high tone...I got scared. hahahahahaha
Are they on urbis? :o
whom d'ya mean?
be patient agressive man! haha, there are two songs, the first is you're gonna need someoone on your side and then heaven knows i'm miserable now begins :)
cheese on toast
Darren Morfitt
i'm a huge james/booth and cover song fan, but found this pretty bad
God is real. Jesus is real. His sacrificial death on the cross and the whipping and torture beforehand are real. If you believe in him and accept these truths with a repentant heart you will then be forgiven and be made anew. If you die unrepentant and refuse his gift of everlasting life in Heaven you are accepting the consequences of your sins on your own head for eternity.
Heaven knows I'm miserable now 😂
What a load of shite.....
Is not that song
the music so bad
