On Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, Scott County Emergency Management activated the Savage Outdoor Warning Siren System for the monthly test.
While they did that, I set my siren off for its very first test since I got it!!! Hope yall enjoy the refurbished look and healthy sound!

@@Acoustic_Theory I mean it's Illigal to be blasting noiseless over a certain decibel rating in a certain amount of feet from the source ie it can't be more then a certain amount of decibels at the neighbors property.
Idk why but I hate it when people don't bother to explain how you can get away with sounding off a siren like that out in front of your own house and none of the neighbors complained or what exactly happened afterwards. If only I knew more details, I might have a better chance with my siren at my own place.
None of my neighbors have had an issue with it. I am VERY strict with when the siren is sounded. It strictly follows my cities siren activation policy. If Savages sirens go off so will mine otherwise it doesn’t go off with the exception of a couple silent tests. In my experience as long as you aren’t abusing the siren and sounding it for things you shouldn’t be, I don’t think there is a problem. I’ve had some people say they appreciate it because they get good warning for storms. Feel free to send me your discord if you have it so I can talk with you more about it.

@@Siren1000T1 there probably is a risk of that but again I think as long as you really don’t abuse the siren then I think the chances of getting in trouble are slim to none

I sound my 1003 off sometimes besides test days and the neighbors dont mind it at all. They all think its cool that I own and old siren like that. I keep my tests under 30 seconds to avoid confusion and all that stuff.

well, its noise/loudness/whatever rating is 130 DB, at 100 *feet* away, so im pretty sure standing next to it is so loud that it would cross into the pain threshold of loudness
(and also likely immediately permanently damage or destroy your hearing)
Legends say that this is still playing to this day...
Imagine having a fully refurbished specimen of one of the old Chrysler air raid sirens. Granted it's loudness would damage people's hearing, you'd need a rig to rotate that behemoth, and it wouldn't be very portable. Unless you live rurally and you have a hill to put it on. Then...oh man
That SRN is clean looking, I wish the SRNs in my town looked as clean as that one.

You can think of it like a moonshine still. It's perfectly okay to own and possess one, but the problems start when you try to actually use it

Owning a siren would actually help, as if there was a tornado, you could sound it!
The neighbors didn’t mind the siren. The creator said that he is very strict with the siren, and only sounds it when it is either a test, or a real life emergency like a tornado.

Not sure yet. If I do it’ll be a big project. For right now I’m just wheeling it out for tests and that’s worked rly well!
@@zachj9359 It would look better in my opinion as a roof mount. Would need to custom make a tripod platform to fit your roof slope. Less worry about storms felling the pole as well.

I mean you just paint it with paint it’s pretty simple. Sand rust off and paint a few coats over everything

@OWS of the South Yeah but, a sandblasting box is also like 700$ and mostly for small parts. But it would work super well with something like a Model A or D, and maybe a model 2.

EBay actually isn’t the place people get most of these sirens from. They’re mainly from siren junkyards and deals made by the person buying and the company who is uninstalling the siren to replace it.

I bought and restored it. And 220VAC turned into 48VDC
