This is glorified drop shipping. She did not develop this film camera. It is available from Chinese manufacturers for pennies, and while it is successful this is purely because of marketing, NOT THE PRODUCT.
It won't last. That's why big brands stopped investing in it. I guarantee this deal didn't finish after the show. Young people are not going to keep loading film when there's a much easier way to take a picture. This is like trying to bring the type writer back.
So you have to take pictures for example on a night out and then still go find a place to print/produce them after? On top of that you must carry this camera around the whole night? If I am missing something, please enlighten me. Our smartphones of today are so much easier and convenient with high quality pictures to print whenever
almost nobody is the target market. This idea is like "yknow how people really love vinyl records and sometimes pay LOTS of money for them? Well what if we made cheap chinese knockoffs of rare vinyl records and sold them for the same price, amazing profit!" dodgy fly-by-night venture capitalist, makes sense they love her so much
Typical Drop shipping problem, you start with big sell for the novelty then you invest all the money buying more stock and then sell go down and you have all your stock left that you can’t sell and then you start investing more in advertising
Also, looked at her prices online and 2 films with a camera are $159AUD. Ridiculous. Not to mention it's not a digital camera so you have to get developed. Kids will not like this at all.
I have to give it to her for going for it. But she didn't know her numbers or anything going forward. Definite room to grow but she is young. Also, the idea is an old idea. Not original at all. It's a Kodak camera.
@@theblackflame4002I have watched almost all his videos on his channel and he's far from being a narcissist. She genuinely is in the same position where he was at 23 . He's 27 with a business doing 200 million in revenue
This might be the dumbest idea for a product in history of this show. It has literally nothing new.. its an old camera with a little bit of paint on it. Her not being able to directly answer the money-question is proof that this is the titanic and she‘s trying to cash off.
when you consider the massive comeback vinyl albums has made, its not that dumb. People have nothing knew in the way of ideas and are looking back and revisiting nostalgia.
@@Yessirdo it probably went viral for some IG "influencers" and they sold a couple batches of it and made money. Lets see if they have sales in 2-3 years.

I admire her for seeing an opportunity and capitalising on it. She is an incredible operator. But with no differentiation whatsoever this product has no staying power. It will be copied from coast to coast, and the margins will be crashed. Without a major pivot I can't see it existing in 2 years' time

@04:30 Did anyone else laugh at how ridiculously overdramatic the music was after the simple question: "Why do you only have 10 percent margins?"?
It was like the finale to Star Wars just before the Death Star blew up. Crazy! :)
jesus i thought madi was about to drop dead

I even thought about this! She's in the branding business.
Customers value experience.
Well she is knows about branding and marketing she is doing well at it targeting the younger generation that wants to use for social media etc..

@@User-is2kf oh yes absolutely, but it’s a costly endeavour. it doesn’t exist without so much marketing
Since it’s so easy you should do it.
Literally every other film camera is "reloadable," is much cheaper, and not drop shipped garbage from China.
I think the music is a little dramatic 🤔
How does anyone dare to say they "developed" a product when the only thing they do is to rebrand a product sold by Chinese manufacturers?
yeah she "developed" the online sale order to the manufacturer. That was one of her hardest work days of the year!
She's just taking advantage of young people who never seen this type of camera. Other day i saw a new Polaroid in wal mart
Really crap camera with every inconvenience imaginable. Cheap Fady rip-off. IM OUT !!
tells u a lot about the mind of Gen Z, they are the customers.
This really is the absolute worst thing I have ever seen on any version of Shark Tank. And the people buying these for $100 are absolutely mental.

Sorry, I'm not going back to having to go to a store and pay for printing out my photos. Doesn't make sense to me except for a novelty or nostalgia.
I prefer this new version of Shark Tank Australia.
Agree

Her numbers say kids like it. It rode a trend after the pandemic especially in my demographic and she capitalised extremely well on it.
