I was afraid to hear this at first after hearing so many poor attempts at improving this #1 song. You've pretty much got it perfected. it's not the exact edit as the single, but the stereo separation and definition of the harmonies and instrumentation makes up for it. Plus a longer version is always nice too, especially at the fade. I'm curious to hear this summed (folded) to mono for compatibility. I did hear some sync issues that may throw it out of phase on mono equipment. Otherwise this is fantastic!
Damn dude... phasing issues aside (which actually makes it more psychedelic in my book) I've never heard this song like this before. Thank you so much. Glad to see you quote the "fair use" clause too. Fuck youtube and anybody else trying to control cool, amazing stuff like this .... let freedom of music ring.
You can find it on Amazon from the 35 years box set. It's called G/V sessions. At the finally tab of the song (my cd player shows this long track in sections) is the official stereo backing track
As of this month Capitol officially released it. Using the muli-tracks still around for the backing track (aka The Wrecking Crew playing) an engineer from Ireland extracted the vocal and centered it, backing vocals panned. I'm not really happy with it, but it will do for now
Hi, It's cool you mentioned the phase issue. I was going to mention that in a comment for your other mix. I appreciate that you put a lot of time into this. There are certainly worse hobbies etc. No offense meant, but I have to say none of these stereo home mixes on youtube actually enhance my appreciation for the music. I have no problem with true mono if that is how the original was mixed. What you are doing is interesting, and far better than heinous "fake stereo" versions!
Gotta keep those, lovin good vibrations happenin with her (Hum-Be-Dum Hum-Be-Dum-Oh Hum-Be-Dum Hum-Be-Dum-Oh) Gotta keep those, lovin good vibrations happenin with her (Hum-Be-Dum Hum-Be-Dum-Oh Hum-Be-Dum Hum-Be-Dum-Oh)
Great Job on Good Vibrations, But, What happened to I Get Around Stereo version 2? You had the best mix that ever existed. I'm guessing that You were forced by, You Tube to remove the song, Or Capital Records? I'm going to miss that track to the point of WITHDRAW SYMPTOMS. You do Great uploads anyway.
@Davidekap I'd love too but I need a super stealth method. I upload at coffee shops and beleive it or not that's a rarity cause where I go others like me use the same p/c. Maybe soon
Cuasimodo2372 not surprising. Take his genius and combine it with something can open up your mind to think in different ways, and you get incredible art.
It could be done with a help from a computer. The original backing track is available in stereo, but the vocal is gone. With a computer they can extract the vocals and sync it to the backing track. But no one wants to hear that
Do you know where to find the actual track where the vocal harmony is in sort of normal speed mixed in with the actual song? I thought it was in the SMiLE boxset but i can't seem to find it. The vocal harmony around 3:01 The "hum-bi-da-hum-bi-da-oh"

Wow this is great! And the phasing totally works for it as well

Brian Wilson could not hear in Stereo since he only had 1 good ear. Hence his inability to mix in Stereo...
@thegeminiac thank you for your remarks, they are well appreciated
That would be the legendary Carol Kaye on Bass.
Great !

thanx for the input
The left channel was done to make the song stereo, as I'm a perfectionist but I do appreciate the perspective thanx

i really love the bass line in the beginning, everything was working right on this one, wasn't it?
Could you release the instrumental for this? This is insane.

@the90salways With the exception of the left channel reprise, this is the SMiLE version, but I made the ending way longer
and GOD said play this toone wide flippin open
"I was stoned as hell when I composed this" - Brian Wilson

Thought he said that about Don’t talk

Which version of this used the lower harmony vocals at 3:18?
All versions I know use the higher ''Ah!''-Vocals.
Grachtnakk The Good Vibrations Box set has a twenty plus version and it's somewhere in there
Thanks a bunch!
good for her
nice rework/remaster dooode
Luv did stereo mix, better than duphonic ((u do have an issue with the phasing))Cheers, Tony
NEETO!!!!!

+Pierce Corcega That is from the Good Vibrations 30 years box set. There is a bonus CD of G/V sessions I think over 30 minutes
Can you post this somewhere in lossless audio quality (such as WAV or FLAC)? Thanks!
Is this version on the smile album?
Great work! Why didn't Brian mix a true stereo version of this?
Wilson's deaf in one ear. Everything he personally mixed is mono out of necessity.
Yes sorta
Better than Sonny And Cher?
