    Thank you so much sir for very detailed reviews and recommendations about the Rebel 1100. Your page is the main reason why I'm going crazy (and endless evening debates with moto club members) in making a decision between getting the Rebel 1100 and the Sportster 883. All my bikes are cruisers and I got used to riding machines with ape handlebars from 12 to 18 inches height. But age is catching up with me and my doctor recommend that I ride a bike with the right posture (for my condition) to not worsen my back overused injuries. For 2004, I made a decision to go for the rebel 1100. While the manual is not always giving a good explanation about the model of the bikes we ride, your page is actually more informative in understanding this model. Grateful to you, sir.

      Good day Mumbakki, it's very good to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words sir, i sincerely appreciate it! That is a good comparison, and a difficult decision i imagine. I also suffer from back pain.... the stock riding position of the rebel increases this pain, that is why i decided to add risers. My riding is primarily touring with many miles covered, after changing the seat, adding risers and a taller windshield, i can now tour endlessly. I will embark on a long tour starting tomorrow and i am very excited to test out my new suspension on a 10 day trip! Thank you for you comment sir! Please don't hesitate to ask me anything about the bike!!

      @@ontherebel11 thank you once again good sir. And it's great to know about installing some risers, this is an added information that I will surely consider. Good luck for the upcoming test/tour, you're doing everyone here a great favor by testing all the possibilities to ensure a great ride with this particular model. Stay safe on the road sir, and wishing you a great journey ahead 🙏

    Hi Gus, great to see you are doing well. Very nice video and perfect working guide. After all your improvements it has to be different bike. My bike is almost stock one. I have changed few things, but my changes were only cosmetic ones. I have changed wiev of my bike but it has also influenced riding experience so I am happy of it. My bike is still in guarantee so do not want to touch anything sensitive. Anyway, here is awful autumn weather so my bike rests under cover and on the stand ready for next spring. Just one charging cable goes under my seat becouse 4 months of rest will not treat my battery well😁😁😁. And like that it waits up there for better weather. Take care and keep on going Gus👍👍👍👍

      Hi Miro!!! Always a pleasure to see your comment!!! Thank you for your kind words my friend!! I am like you and haven't touched the engine of the electrical system so that i don't void the warranty as i got the extended warranty. Last year i decided to invest in heated gear because i didn't want to pack the bike away in winter as i did early in my riding career.

    Awesome! Bought my 2021 DCT 2 months ago and coming from the supersport, fully adjustable ''world'', I miss the customization of the suspension. Although for the type of bike the Rebel is, the stock suspension, surprisingly, isn't bad at all but I'd like to bring it to my liking and make all these ss riders scratch their heads even more, asking what the hell is this bike and rides like that! Like your racetrack video you've done a while ago!

    Sheeeesh now that’s some high quality stuff! 😮 I’ve had fork springs waiting to go in for the longest time, just haven’t done it because it hasn’t felt like a job I want to tackle in the parking lot of my condo 😂 Now I’m wondering if I just go full cartridges instead…
    Anyway, another great video Gus! Happy holidays!! 🙌🏻🎄🦃

    • @ontherebel11
      @ontherebel11  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you Mike, I sincerely appreciate it brother! The springs alone will not help much with the bounce.... As you won't be able to adjust the damping to handle the stiffer spring, I would definitely recommend a cartridge kit instead with a spring designed for your weight.
      Happy holidays brother! 🤙

    It is likely easier to loosen the bolt at the bottom of the fork while still in the triple clamp with an impact driver.

    • @ontherebel11
      @ontherebel11  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi John, that's a good idea in hind sight, but since i hadn't done this on the Rebel, i wasn't sure if it will create a mess, played it safe lol

    • @johnmitchell9705
      @johnmitchell9705 8 месяцев назад

      The grease goes on the outside of the fork tubes and when you bounce the fork it is sucked under the oil seals, no mess. It only takes a little grease With the dust caps on you would need to lift them to use the grease. @@ontherebel11

    amazing video with the as-always accurate explanations by Gus. what are your impressions so far from the new suspensions? i amd 240lbs 6'2'' - what spring would fit to prevent bottoming ?

    • @ontherebel11
      @ontherebel11  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Robert! Thank you bro! I'm on 2,500 mile trip testing the suspension while fully loaded! Yes, it absolutely will reduce the dive, it is so consistent, predictable and dependable, the bike is so much more stable in every condition and at any speed! I'm no sure which spring rate will be best for you, but you will specify all the weights and conditions while you order the kit, they build it for you! If you do go that route, I would recommend that you also upgrade the rear as well, get the matris shocks, you will be very happy with that upgrade! Expensive, I get it, but worth it for me since this bike is a keeper, besides if one was to sell the bike, one could always put the oem suspension back on and sell the aftermarket suspension 😊
