It's been almost two years, I been watching this video like almost every day!! I hope one day I get a chance and see the beautiful California and it's sunset. I love the songs too. Well done.
This video really is something special, I can’t contain myself from coming back to it at least once a week. Watching this completely soothes my soul no matter what I’m going through, and some parts of this video are just pure magic. Like at 4:05...man I don’t know how you do it: the intensifying of the song just as you pass through the interchange and reveal the downtown L.A. skyline... it’s pure magic, I can’t help but feel so hyped up at that part, like as hyped up as a really cool scene in a movie would make me. You make it look so easy, I’ve tried doing videos like this and I can’t make them magical like yours. RUclips doesn’t get any better than this video right here!
Thank you for sharing that, I'm truly glad you enjoy it so much, that's what the videos are here for, as for making it look easy? It's just a feel I guess, I just do what seems to make sense at the time when I'm putting things together.
Excellent looking video and a great fun ride. I liked seeing California. The music was great too, especially that last song. I definitely heard Patti Smith the way Johnette sang it. Thanx for posting this.
That has always been one of my favorite drives in LA. And no matter how many times I have seen it, whenever downtown LA comes into view it is exciting. Kind of like coming out of the tunnel in 24W towards San Francisco, when SF suddenly appears on the horizon (I think you have a video of that somewhere too).
I would like to live there someday !!! you make great videos with good music . Everything in your videos are very great, I've watched several times ....

Brought back great memories that I was able to share with my son!!! Thank You!
Great remix video, Jim. The soundtrack for this one is very smooth and laid back. I even found myself drifting off a bit. Good thing you were doing the driving. Looking forward to whatever you may have planned for this year's videos.
Awesomeness! Driving the 110 towards DTLA during sunset is classic California cruising at some of its finest. I envy you for the relative lack of traffic throughout..wish my driving experiences through LA were as easy as in this video, lol.
Thank you, after hearing all the horror stories about traffic I was surprised and relieved that it was what it was, did get stuck in it on the Hollywood Freeway later that night though.
Those tight on ramps and exit ramps remind me of Interstate 70 between Washington, PA and New Stanton, PA before PennDOT started to really reconstruct the interchanges.
Beautiful remix. So nice to watch. Chris Isaak at the beginning--- such a fine choice. I watched it while running on the treadmill, I want to run more and watch it again...Wonderful video as always...
Great remake! I miss the original, the second song from that is a favorite. The 110 became my favorite LA route due to how it varies. Wished for your lighting, my drive was dark.
I lived in South Pasadena in 2014-15, right behind the water treatment plant where the video begins. I believe that stretch of the 110 (up to Fair Oaks) was Route 66 for a while.

What a good video this is, Jim. If I'm not wrong, there was one more video from Ventura to Pasadena titled 'The Roads to Pasadena.' I can't find that video. Did you take it down?
Sensational ride as usual. Of the 4 or 5 videos i've seen of yours, they've been largely soundtracked with US Country or Americana but track 2 stood out as sounding different and more to own my taste (UK indie/alternative/dance) so was pleasantly surprised that it was Johnny Marr. Sounds like his work with New Order's Bernard Sumner as "Electronic". Never got around to buying The Messenger album. Chris Isaak is a God for completely different reasons.
Thanks, I really don't use country/americana very often (unless we have very different definitions of those genres), I like to think I have a nice mix of classic rock, hard rock, jazz, dance/electronic, alternative, R&B, pop and oldies, I've even used rap in two videos. 4:08 ... The four level stack near downtown LA is important. I think that it was the first four level stack in the United States. This very elegant design which moves traffic well and takes up far less real estate than other designs is now used across the country. It is most expensive because of the number of bridges needed, but is capable of moving cars through the interchange at freeway speeds.
This one was indeed the first but it is badly outdated and antiquated....most stacks actually take up more real estate, you should see the ones in Texas.

One thing I don't miss about the old Pasadena/Arroyo Seco fwy are the insanely short exit/entrance ramps.
