    BLOG REVIEW: davewirth.blog...
    A popular saying in Crypto is “if you don’t hold your private key you don’t hold your money.
    One of the safest way to hold your private key is with a hardware wallet. Something that you know is safe, secure, private, and easy to do. It doesn’t matter how much money you have invested, a hardware wallet is good practice and something everyone should do. Take it from the thousands of people who have lost their savings, weather through a computer crashing or trojan virus stealing from a software wallet or exchange being hacked. Don’t wait until something bad happens before you take the right steps. A hardware wallet is one of the best things you can get. For all you beginners maybe you are wondering how safe it is….or how do you even store them….and maybe you read a lot about people saying “you need a hardware wallet”. One product that always comes up is Trezor. That’s because they’ve been around the longest, since 2014, and are trusted. I contacted Trezor and they sent me their hardware wallet to review
    In this video i will explain different wallets, why you may want a hardware wallet, what comes with the Trezor, how to set it up, how to add coins to it, how to send coins from it, and my honest opinion.

      Not sure what you mean about accounts. Maybe i was saying that you can have different coins on the Ethereum account. Meaning if it's an ERC-20 token like Chainlink, that gets sent to an Ethereum address, and that Ethereum address can have multiple coins on it.

    I bought a Trezor a while back, not sure from where. Ive heard that this could be a problem if not from the company itself. I set it up have my pass phrase and pin. Could there be any potential issues? Can it be wiped clean by me and generate a new pass phrase and pin and be safe? Thanks

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  2 года назад

      I've heard of a couple scams, but usually it's not the Trezor that's hacked. Just that they give you fake/pre-made seed words. whotookmycrypto.com/fake-trezor-wallet/
      So someone buys the trezor, opens the box, puts in their fake seed word sheet, then sells them on ebay.
      I would think that you should totally be able to send all the crypto you have on the trezor to some exchange, wipe the trezor, install new software, resetup your pin/seed words, then you should be good to go.

    Hello. I was setting up my Trezor and hit the next key before I got the phrase down and now my Trezor isn't any good. It was the first Trezor
    that came out. Do you happen to know if I can set it to the initial start phraze so I can use this thing? Otherwise I have lost $50. Thank
    you for your time.

    I just bought a Trezor One and I have one question: once the device is set-up and I receive my seed, does that mean I’m set? I haven’t added any money to it yet but basically my PRIVATE KEYS & BLOCKCHAIN are now on the Trezor?

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  5 лет назад +1

      You should be given a PUBLIC key to send money to. But the PRIVATE key is never given out. The trezor is just a way to transfer funds without ever exposing your private key.

      Dave Wirth thanks Dave👍🏾
      I have a few questions. I've bought some cryptos on Coinbase and transferred a portion of the money I invested to my trezor. However here is my question ..if I completely transfer ALL the money over to my trezor, when the prices of crypto goes up, how will I gain a profit from Coinbase when there is nothing in my account/wallets...? When the price skyrockets and all my money is on the Trezor, will it increase on it?
      my whole plan is for the long haul and I want my money to grow and work for me. So I need a little help🤓

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  5 лет назад +1

      We the money isn't actually on the Trezor, just the private key is stored there. It's really on the Blockchain. Yes if prices go up, the price will go up on the Trezor.
      You can check using your PUBLIC key online. Just type in "check bitcoin balance" or "check Ethereum balance". Then copy and paste in your PUBLIC key (never your private key). Although with a Trezor your private key is never given, which is why it's so secure. So if it's Ethereum or an ERC-20 token you can copy and paste it into Etherscan and it will show the amount and value. etherscan.io/search Just paste it up at the top and click "GO"
      For example, here's an address: etherscan.io/address/0xd0a6e6c54dbc68db5db3a091b171a77407ff7ccf
      If you click on the box next to "Token Balance" you can see that this person has like $3,000 of a bunch of tokens saved on that address.

      Or it gives me private key. I m confused
      Is binance safe than swyftx??
      Do i put the key from my trezor into the exchange??? So it sends to the trezor address to stay safe??
      Do I need to enter trezor address when selling on exchange???
      Am I meant to have zero bitcoin on exchange and do bthey stay on exchange whwn they are safe on ledger or they are sent to ledger or trezor and moved from exchange so none are on exchange and bitcoin is moved to the cold storage trezor???
      Thank y oiu so much these are everything I need before I start investing 😢😢

      Once you use Trezor it will create a new walltet for you .If you have an existing wallet then you would have to transfer to your trezor wallet..since when you load Trezor there is not an option to import a wallet...I could be wrong here but thats what I read up so far.

      Im also trying to understand this. Where did the passwords originate? Presumably they were input into the firmware by Trezor when the device was made and then it was packaged. So could they have been recorded somewhere?

      @@safiya4339 the passwords are randomly generated when you plug in the device, trezor doesn't have access to them they are generated inside your hardware device as far as I understand, unless as mentioned in video ur trezor already has something installed, or is not sealed etc...
