Yessssss!! Thank you again for a melt and pour tutorial! My boys and I make soap and sell it to raise money for a charity. We LOVE your tutorials!! We use a suspending base too and it works well for us.
I absolutely love how these look, it reminds me of a raspberry cream dessert in a way and I think it is so cute. It was such a joy to find your channel again after watching your videos years ago!
Sometimes I use the suspension M&P and add to regular M&P if I need to make some icing it will set to a marshmallow consistency same if you add castille soap to M&P but its great fun and another way to use M&P. Love the vid 🤗🐈🐾🌻
Just love your videos Dean. So glad to see your video notifications coming through again! Your soap is beautiful. I use melt and pour but haven’t used this particular base
Dean, you're back! Good to see you! I love how your swirls turn out. I myself don't like Stevenson soap or suspension, it has sulfates it it which dries my skin out badly, I have to use without it, but the swirls look cool, great job! I am so sad about the fires out there, so much has been lost!! Our prayers go out to your country.
I just made fun little soaps with my daughter. It was great for us especially since we have never done this before. We don’t have a microwave so, we cut the soap base up in shards, put it in the molds, popped it in the oven at 250° and just watched it til it was melted... added tiny shredded crayon bits and a teeny tiny drop of essential oil per tiny mold (which was probably a bit much but they smell amazing and she is proud and thrilled sooo, we are happy.) If we were doing a big batch I’d do it in bigger tubs but, for us, it was perfect, fun, and easy. Can’t wait to experiment more with it. We have 24.75 pounds left to use. 😂
We just made little ornamental ones the size of soda bottle tops as a first time play thing. She is only 7 years old. We won’t be using them to bathe. Thank you for the tip, though.
As always just beautiful. Love your melt and pour soap making tutorials.. Stay safe and hoping that your country gets some respite from the bushfire soon. 🙏
Wow! What a pretty soap! I am going to have to try this suspension-type base. I use Stephenson’s regular clear all the time, but it doesn’t swirl as nicely. Thanks for sharing this! Hope you are well and unaffected by the fires. 🙂
Cute soap, and love Lovespell fo. I've used S's suspension base, it holds glitter, embeds, and colorants in place very well. Prayers for the fire devastation there. It's frequently reported on the news here in US, so many prayers for all of you including the wildlife there. Protection and resolution soon we hope for! 🙏
Thanks so much. Yes, the fires have been so bad. I live hear the beach which is about 90km away from the closest fire so im not effected directly, but we get ash and smoke most days. The beach is covered in ash and a day last week the waves were just black ash. Poor animals have no hope.
@@DeanWilson Glad you're safe! I tell ya Dean, ppl here in the US are crying, praying, and absolute well wishes going out for all of you. Such a devastating tragedy. It is so amazing to see the animals respond so well to ppl helping them! We were happy to hear of US groups heading there to help! Thanks for sharing your creations with us, always fun to enjoy.
I used this base. I feel like it stays way to soft in the shower. And it didn’t suspend well for me. I’d love hints! Not that I’ll buy it again. It just doesn’t last long. Anyone use steric acid in melt and pour to help harden it?
Do these bars have to cure for the 3-4 weeks also? I'm watching and trying to learn, haven't done my first one yet. I love it, it seems to be a relaxing hobby.
I'm at my mum's and I confused her greatly by trying to tell her that Dean had put up a new M&P video. Well, I had to tell someone. Very helpful comments about measuring temperatures to work out at what temperature to pour for swirls etc. Thank you.
Hey Dean. Just started making soap, having probs tho with some fragrances, I just cannot smell them once soap is set. I use melt and pour. Any tips pls.
Some fragrances lose their scent one mixed, its all trial and error. Also check with the supplier or you could try another suppliers fragrance as there are many different makers of scents.
I don't suggest it as it will not turn to soap. When melt and pour is made all oils and butters the saponification process has already happened. You can buy shear butter melt and pour.
Hey there dean I do not have a microwave at the moment and have to use a stove top, I am using this exact brand of soap base. What temperature should I be melting at? I tried melting on low 4 but I noticed that the soap was beginning to solidify on the sides of the container quite quickly and I assumed to skin meant it was solidifying and that I should pour into the mold right then. As soon as I poured the soap had hardened and I had no time to work with it. Do you have any idea as to what I may have done wrong ?
I use to melt in a double boiler. Fill a pan with water, put it on the stove top then put my soap base in another container and put that in the water. This way it heats up my container evenly rather then just the sides. Once it all turns to liquid then your ready to roll. and yes, it can cool down quickly.
Hi, With your experience of making soaps , what soap base do you recommend between the Stephensons soap base, natural candle supply from Aussie Soap Supplies or if you have tried the soap bases from Aussie Candle Supplies. I have used Stephensons in the past and wondering whether you have more working time with other brands and also if there product is better quality. Thanks mate.
Question Dean: do the swirls results have something to do with using a suspension base, or only something to do with the temperature you poured at? - Btw, thank you for all your fantastic videos!! You truly inspire me :)
The suspending base HELPs but its not the full swirl result everyone is looking for. Low temps will help a lot in any base. Base is quite heavy. If you pour clear into clear it pretty much blends but if you pour goats milk into clear it sinks to the bottom. Its one of those designs that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and thats not the soap makers fault. It might just be the temp was hotter at the bottom of the base when it was taken. Lots of reasons. Its all trial and error.
I haven't read any books on melt and pour because I was told that what i wanted to do could not be done. Best just watch youtube videos, its 100% free and there is a few videos every day :)
These turned out super pretty !! It’s been so long since you’ve done melt and pour but I must say you are still the master of it !!! Gorgeous !!
Thank you for doing the Celsius conversion 🙂
Once you unmold it I get so excited for the cut!😂 I guess I'm a soap geek!!!😅

Awesome, glad the video helped :)
The Soap Is Beautiful.
Dean I am so glad you are back making M&P soaps you were very creative and always took it to another level.
Oh wow u did a drop swirl with melt n pour that’s awesome!!! They are beautiful!
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks for the cool video! The Stephenson suspending base works really well for making exfoliating soap containing pumice powder.
I absolutely love your tutorials and testing!! This one looks like a sweet raspberry dessert. Great job!!
Beautiful soap!!! Really love your videos. Always happy when I get a notification!!! Thank you!!

Beautiful! They must smell heavenly☺
They do. I love this fragrance. One of my top 5 now.
Love your melt and pour videos! Do more 😍😍

Very nice swirls. I've used the Stephenson base, but not the suspension one. I like it alright.
Great video once again and the swirls turned out perfect 💖

Glad you like my video but crayons for dye is not skin safe. I suggest not using that.
Search for a local soap supplier and get some skin safe dye.

Que bonito 💞 me encantó, gracias!! Bendiciones
Muchas gracias.
Love your work Dean.
Much appreciated ;)
Welcome back... great as always...I still can't cut a straight bar freehand! I need that knife... lol
I cant cut them either. Some of these soaps are cut on a slight angle.
@@DeanWilson I can't cut straight for the life of me. Even with a cutter. It's so sad... lol...I don't do loaves for that reason but I love them

Beautiful 👌.... Eagerly waiting for the new ideas
And will you please share the melt and pour rose bud and rose flower soap recepie @Deal Wilson
Rose bud and rose flower? Im not sure I have done one before.
@@DeanWilson hii Dean..want to know the recepie of rose buds 🌹or rose flower to make a rose soap gift boxes
Sorry, I dont know that recipe.

Melt and pour soap doesn't need to cure. As soon as its cold its ready to use.
I literally just yelled out 'YAY!'when I got the notification.
Edit: ive never been 1st at commenting before this is kinda cool
I know, I need to do more M&P videos. I have about 20kg of clear base, I should get to it. Its just so HOT here at the moment.
More videos soon.

Can you add a little Shea butter to your melt and pour?
I don't suggest it as it will not turn to soap. When melt and pour is made all oils and butters the saponification process has already happened. You can buy shear butter melt and pour.
It pretty cool
But if we want dry how to dry the soap
If you leave it so the water drips off it, it will dry itself.
Good. Katengs

For extra clear and goats milk I like the SFIC Goats Milk from Aussiesoapsupplies
But for swirls I prefer the suspending base from Stephensons
@@DeanWilson In your opinion do they have the same working time as each other.
I find that the Stephensons suspending base hardens quicker but I really have only tested those 3 bases.
@@DeanWilson Thank you for your responses. Much appreciated.
Thanks sir! Quick question- what did you spray the soap with?
Rubbing alcohol. It bonds the soap together.

Yes, rubbing alcohol. Check out my video here

Strawberries and cream
Nice
what is titanium dioxide used for?
TD is for making either clear soap white, or you want a bright color to be more pastel. You only need a small amount. test slowly.
