All you will need is:
- Sewing machine / Hand sewing needle
- Thread (available on Garmentborders.com)
- Pants / Trousers (I purchased this from Primark)
- Scissors
- Seam Ripper (Available soon)

Shalom when I heard fringes I got super excited!

Thank you so much you made that demonstration so simple and straightforward. I only wear skirts and they are becoming harder and harder to find so I decided to invest in a sewing machine to make my own . After seeing your video the process is going to be so much easier I really appreciate it.
Thank you. So simple. The best bit is realising that the trousers I want to change into a skirt has pockets. Finding skirts with pockets and that are long enough isn't easy, so this is a great solution to both problems.

So for clarification: you turned what was formerly the crotch to the sides so that the crotch seams hang over the pants? So that would work well with a flowy fabric but maybe not so much a stiffer one.

This is a great idea. I just suggest that to same time and effort, instead of unpicking the inner leg seam you can just cut if off right next to the seam line. What do you think?

Can I just cut it
This looks great, but my pants I want to turn into skirts have WONDERFUL pockets I do not want to give up! Any ideas?
Shalawam Sis..... up here trying to make a jean skirt to the knee and ankle........Also make a knee-length skirt for the gym........ HELP🥺
You can use the same approach where you take out the thread from the seam. But you will have to buy fabric to then sew onto the jeans to fill in the triangle gap.
👖 < you see this emoji of pants? In between the legs you can see a gap that look like a triangle. That will need to be filled with fabric. This applies to making a skirt for the gym.
Without having that extra fabric will result in the skirt being too tight. I hope this helps.

Why would you go to all the trouble to pick out or rip the stiches out when you’re cutting off those edges anyway?
It looks the skirt will be crooked in front and back.

Yes. As the crotch area is what you would be cutting.
