It looks much better, but one problem for me- I don't like those bumps in front and back..the bump where the crotch was. Is there anyway to avoid that? Carefully cut it out?
Yes you can cut it out especially if the pants are a bit oversized.

Bad news. Found some jeans to make into a skirt and made a horrible mess. Will just have to put them back in the storage bin with the other denim I use to make quilts.

The next time you find a great pair of jeans that are too small can you show how you would do this while adding in some width? I have a pair of jeans I'm considering modifying, but I know the inner thigh material is unsalvagable and I don't know how to add in a way that makes sense without sacrificing a second pair or ending up with something completely patchwork. Also, I want to extend the pockets, which seems easy but still feels intimidating (which fabric? Would a bandana be strong enough to hold a cell phone securely?) It seems the videos I'm visiting didn't start at unflatteringly skintight, so taking bits in is no issue. Thanks!
Hi The Bookwyrms Lair, to increase a pair of jeans too small will definitely require one to add some form of fabric which could be denim or I have also seen others use other fabric such track pants refashioning it in a totally different way. In my opinion that’s the only way to make a small fitting outfit bigger, by adding some sort of fabric. For the pocket yes a bandana will be a strong enough fabric to hold a phone.
