Sorry to hear that your situation still sucks. As a fellow hyperacoustique / misophonique even if I don't suffer as much as you I understand the pain you're dealing with. Love, light and spoons to you and all who need them!
Great comparison, thanks! I go between foam, loop and AirPods Pro 2’s depending on the situation :) haven’t tried the wax ones, may check them out sometime!
@@Jcf990 foam and loops are a lot less hassle than wax so you might’ve already found your best convo if they’re alright for you! Im wondering if the foam are better suited to men, who probably have slightly bigger ears on average 🤔 But once you figure out how to mold the wax (took me about a week to figure out how to get it right lol) it is a lot more comfortable I find!
@GeorginasJourney yeah foam ones don’t expand to the point of discomfort fortunately (as you say could be I have bigger ear canals). But I do like to sleep on my side so want to look into something flat, maybe the silicone ones would do the trick? And yep I love my AirPods during the day so I can rest in silence and listen to an audiobook or something, they’re amazing! :)
@ I’m also a side sleeper so I mould the wax ones to be flat once they’re in my ear 👂🏽 Yeah, silicone would work too! But again a bit more hassle to put in that foam typically
I find that I use ear defenders the most because they never need charging. I ones I have are called pelton three from 3M, and are usually used in industry. I was worried because they are much more expensive than ordinary ear defenders, but I’m so glad I invested in them, they are worth every penny and have lasted many years. The main drawback with them is that I’m a side sleeper and they are uncomfortable to sleep in. I’m so sorry about your housing situation, I don’t feel safe in my home, but don’t have the money to be able to move, and my lovely neighbours for well over a decade, both passed away in the last year and now the new lady is okay, but her friends are horrible and they hang about all the time. They smoke like chimneys and constantly hang about outside, making my house stink, and their constant noise, chattering (including screaming) and music, wear me down and I don’t have the energy to be out all the time.
I know a lot of people like Loop but I can't stand hearing myself chew or my own voice when I talk. I have found Flare "Calmer Nights" line in particular they allow you to hear the world but still dial down the spikes.I found they are good in combo with other headphones and ear defenders. Also active noise cancelling headphones is KEY. Noise isolating headphones don't get you too far. You need " Noise AC" For me White noise is insufferable: it's in the word white" noise " I have sensory overload. So it's the sound overload that gets me the constant unending noises. I want them all off not to cover them up with more noise.💁 I was in this one house where the roommates put there white noise machines outside their doors to give each other "privacy" but I was couch surfing and within a matter of weeks I was so sleep deprived I had the most massive meltdown I nearly checked into the hospital. 😢 When they turned their all the time machines off my ears started leaking fluid it felt like they were bleeding relief. 😭
Never heard of noise isolating! I used to be the same with white noise, but as my situation got worse & worse, I had to adapt somehow & white noise (which I don’t literally mean to be white noise, also asmr, soft rain, etc) became necessary. It is overstimulating & painful but for people in the worst noise situations, it can also be vital.
I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas holidays with your family and I pray that you will have a wonderful new year, God has a great plan for you 🙏
@ thanks so much! This December is a really rough & tough one for me, but I have exciting news to share with everyone next year 😊 (not health or housing related)
@@sandra.diaz.7139 Hi! Thank you, but this isn’t a rough patch, this is just my life & has been for 3.5 years already💓 (& 10 ish years of severe illness total) the only reason I appeared more well at university, for example, is because I had 3-5 full time, live in carers with me at any given time & I lived in pretty good housing, but none of that is possible anymore. I’ve also had the disease progression of losing half of my thyroid & now having a new tumour on the other side, that can’t be operated on currently, etc. So this is just my life, but I appreciate the well wishes so much, thank you ☺️💓💓
@GeorginasJourney Hi! Thanks for replying! 👋🏻 I must apologize, English is not my first language and I might not have expressed myself properly on my previous message. What I meant by "rough patch" is "feeling way worse than normal, to the point of not being able to do absolutely anything". I based this idea on your last message posted on the community wall and figured you are feeling worse than an average day. Hope that makes sense and clarifies my comment! I have a host of illnesses and always feel bad but some periods are particularly debilitating. Those are my "rough patches within my permanent rough patch!" 😂 Anyway, still sending you lots of love and hugs all the way from Spain!! 🤗🤗

Good point! Loop engage & experience are quite similar to the flares in my experience (& I think decibel rating)
