As much as people love to shit on Airpods Max, it's still a solid headphones (overlooking the prices😂). Also the build... You see people's hinges are getting broken left and right on Sony recycled plastic. I dont see how could you get that Airpods Max hinges broken with that metal build
This the most scientific way to test out the noice cancellation, cheers I never thought I'd find a video like such for headphones reviews, just influencers pushing products based on prices
I just moved to a crappy Brazilian neighborhood. The loud music and the noises people make up to 4am are unbelievable, I'm glad you put this video out. I'll order a W820BT right away.
Great video - thank you. I am still using my 4 year old QC35II and wont be changing anytime soon but would prob go with the QC Ultra based on these tests
There would appear to be no noise cancelling headphones that can deal with the kind of domestic noise coming from my neighbours plumbing alas, it is a particularly annoying frequency that my Sony pair barely touches.
I listened to this in my XM5 and the test sounded way quieter than the XM5 actually does on a subway platform. I can always hear people talking, trains definitely cut through the ANC... Either mine have been defective since I bought them or this test has some serious flaws.
Hey there, thanks for watching! Our ANC simulations aren't meant to be 1-1 recreations of your experience with the products in real life, since we can't account for factors like your ear anatomy, how good the seal is between the headphones and your ears, your volume level, the headphones/earbuds/speakers you're listening to this video with, etc. These simulations are primarily designed for comparison between products, and should be treated as approximations for a headphone's performance. At the end of the day, the true indicator of the performance is you, your ears, and whether they suit your needs. Hope this clears things up. Happy listening! -Harley
Great sound test. No doubt the numbers are accurate scientifically, but I thought the soundcore space ones sounded like I had better anc than some higher ones. Cut down the wheel screeching and talking better.
When it comes to anc. It is hard to beat those airpods max. I'm glad I got them. This last summer was going to be a nightmare without those headphones. Noisy fan be gone!
I'm really curious to how this correlates to previous tests, in the wf1000xm5 earphones test you previously said that they can block about 87% of outside noise, but last comparative test you said they ranked 5fth with 84% (or 85 i don't exactly remember) did they get worse? Did you change your methodology? Is the earbuds test comparable to the headphones test?
Hey there! The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless' ANC performance is good, but it's not among the best we've tested. However, if you want to see our full lab results, I'd recommend checking out our review article: www.soundguys.com/sennheiser-momentum-4-wireless-review-2-86111/ Hope this helps. Happy listening!
I would have to disagree with the assessments made. Regardless of the reported data, what I heard is different; for example, #10 I heard less rattling and thumping compared to #9, #8, and (possibly) #7. Also, my first hand experience with both the XM5 and the Airpod Max was different from what I heard. ANC on the Airpod Max was not better than something like the Bose 700; while with the XM5 I have worn them on a plane and it shocks me everytime by how silent the plane suddenly becomes. I trust you guys used a valid method to quantify noise cancelling, but there is a discrepancy between you data and what I hear from the simulation and in real life. Interesting video all the same.
Yeah, I felt the same using ANC headphones the first time. I remember using the ol' Bose QuietComfort 15! Felt like I was in a vacuum haha. Let me know if you're looking for anything in particular! Happy listening! -Harley
If you'd like to see more ANC data, feel free to take a look at the ANC charts for all the headphones we've tested on our site. If the AirPods Max don't suit your needs, we're happy to recommend plenty of others you might like. Let us know :D Happy listening!

I had no idea the Airpods Max had such good ANC. I'm still not getting them but I had no idea
If only they were cheaper... 😭

I appreciate the sound tests! Thanks for the vid!

Ordered XM5 the day before yesterday. I'm curious! After years I'm going to wear headphones again
Headphone ganggggg. Hope you enjoy them. Happy listening! -Harley
XM4 are still my favorite. I tried to like the XM5s, but I just feel that they are not as comfortable.
But the XM5 ANC sounds way quieter.
I really like the ANC of the XM5.
I also really like the sound signature of the Momentum 4, with a bit less bass.
Sony knows a thing or two when it comes to ANC. Same with Sennheiser when it comes to sound. Happy listening!

@SoundGuys Oh as an audio engineer I'm pretty sure your tests are fine. I think I have a defective product (or maybe super hearing).
@@MaxMiller94 Hoping it's the super hearing, but in case it's not then I'm sure Sony could hook you up with a repair/replacement!
@@SoundGuys Good answer Harley but the question was legitimate and I did appreciate indeed. Cheers !

You guys haven't tested the Edifier W830NB?
Not yet, but hopefully soon!
@SoundGuys it would probably make top 5
@@alexle1935 We'll be on the look out for sure! And we'll likely do this video again periodically in the new year, so stay tuned!

what about the sennheiser moemtum 4?
Same doubt

They are that good, but it’s really hard to get a good fit on humans so most people get much worse than the dummy head.

You just can’t get AirPods Max 😊
