Thanks. I’m in the market for poles and appreciate your video!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice review THG. Been using these for years and have yet to be disappointed by them. They’re a rock solid piece of gear at a great price.
I totally agree!
Great review as always.
Thanks so much Tim!
Great review Chris, we have the same trekking poles. I hear ya on the handles, good point, I haven't used the cork handles long enough yet to see if I have issues.
I do like they have EVA foam lower in them so if you need to you can give your hands a rest. Thanks Nicole
I love having trekking poles and miss them very much even I forget them. Nice review
I think I will be using them from now on if I can find a way to transport a gallon of water some other way LOL
@That Hiking Guy hmm maybe attach said water to your belt? Or maybe wear it like Mr T did all that gold? 🤔
Have had mine for years now. Quality poles and a great price. Love them.
Yeah I am impressed with them. And I found they helped me hike faster and on a steady rhythm
Nice looking poles. As most folks know I'm not much when it comes to gear I usually just grab anything that works and go with that. I couldn't even tell you the brand name of most of my gear,LOL! But those look nice. Have a great week my friend.
Thanks Jim. Appreciate it
Looks good
Thanks Dave, Appreciate it
Very good review of your trekking poles.
Thanks John!
@@thathikingguy how will you carry your 1 gal water jug using trekking poles?
I am working on that LOL
I do like some good trekking poles, especially going uphill! Looks like some overall good poles there.
They really surprised me how much more confidently I hiked with them. One thing I forgot to mention was that I was looking at my feet less and enjoying more of the view
These are also recommended and approved by the Rugged Mountain Siblings! It's their trekking pole of choice! I think i originally saw them on a Darwin budget gear video!
Well then if they approve I know I have the right gear for me. LOL
They look like some nice trekking poles! I didn't think about them improving the pace but that makes sense. I mostly use mine to take load off my knees, especially on descents. Anything that does that I'm happy with! I think I read somewhere that trekking poles take about 15% of the load off your knees, not sure how true that is but hey, i can speak from experience it helps me get downhill without knee pain!
They also improved my confidence and helped me not stare at my feet. LOL
@@thathikingguy lol 😆 yea that's true!! Here's a question, do you actually use the wrist straps?? I don't and I had one or two occasions where the poles got stuck and if I did have the option to let go I'm sure my wrist would have been in for some really pain!
I dont use the straps as much as I thought I would that's for sure
I've never been a fan of trekking/hiking poles but now with my leg and back issues I'm thinking when I'm ready I may have to get a pair. I'm thinking they'll be better or safer over all for the hike. Going to check these out now!
Yeah I’m the same Tim. I’ve always had a camera in my hand while hiking but one thing I did notice is that having these built up my confidence to be able to stop Looking at my feet so much and enjoy the view more. I think that is part of the reason I enjoyed he hike more honestly
I’ve heard this soooo many times hiking the At. I can’t tell you how many people converted to pole users wishing a couple hundred miles but it was in the 90% range. They work and are really helpful all around. Just try them
Great video. Never used trekking poles before and I am not an experienced hiker but now that I'm 60 years old I feel that I need to buy a pair. I travel a lot and therefore I need the foldable ones to fit in my carrying bag (need to be less than 50cm when dismantled). The ones on the video do not look like they're foldable. So, what is your opinion on the 'Cascade Mountain Tech Lightweight Aluminum with Extended Down Grip foldable Trekking Poles'? Do they have the same durability, quality and comfort as the ones in the video? Thank you.
They look pretty solid. I might be interested in those as well.
@@thathikingguy Thank you for your reply.

Each pole weighs 0.78 ounces... and between the two they weigh a pound? Nice looking poles.
I meant to say 7.8 ounces. I misspoke, it happens sometimes LOL
@@thathikingguy I figured that.... just wanted to let you know that many of us listen to and enjoy your videos Chris! The only thing missing was a nice grilled ribeye!
I did have that later at home LOL
