I bought my League One Bournemouth team up to the premier league in about 4 seasons (it was my first save) after buying players like Seamus Coleman, Fabian Delph, Jake Livermore, Troy Deeney, Michael Keane, John Stones. I bought most of them I believe from other championship teams as just good potential young players not knowing who any of them were and with a blank picture to put a name to. They got me up to the premier league and grew into decent mid table premier league level players and i thought it was a cool team. Years later Bournemouth have been in the premier league for 2 seasons and im seeing most of the players mentioned playing at premier league level at other teams. I literally know so many current premier league players before they even played in the premier league thanks to FM.
They beat Real Madrid 3-0 and 2-0 in chapions league groups in my save. Since I was in that group as well, Real Madrid ended up dropping into the europa league. It was quite bizzare to see.
I think one you guys missed some. FM spotted Hazard as well as Lukaku to be future superstar. Hell they even predicted the whole Belgium squad pitch perfect. Love this game for this very reason. So perfect.☺
of course but usually for the flops has not been lack of pure talent...FM gives what it believes to be the players potential ability, it can't guarantee the player will fulfill it....many other factors come into play injuries, player mentality,ambition, bad transfers,poor management....many talents never reach their potential because of this, cassano,balotelli,pastore are such examples...the ability is the there, something else missed for that player to become world class......it's EXACTLY the same in the game, I played several games man years back where I'd sign up a wonderkid with 5star potential like bale, koke,mata,david Silva,nasri and too many Brazilians to mention,douglas Costa is one, at the time, or hazard and I mismanaged them, played them out of position, didn't give them enough game time sometime long term derailed my plans for them and they turned out average players on a few of my saves....

He scored at least 30 goals a season for me for 6 consecutive seasons as my Cambridge Utd team won the EPL in 5 consecutive seasons, he won the WC with England twice, won the FIFA World Player of the Year 5 times and never scored less than 20 goals a season, even at the ripe old age of 38, after which he retired!

Joey Mallat well of course number don't matter that much but I use fmrte (I only use fmrte to search for players with a high ca/pa) and my whole team has current ability higher than 130 while the teams I face have a current ability of 90/100... So yeah I have a big advantage

big FM addict through the years..and for me the most impressive prediction has to be Verratti at Pescara...literally 3rd division 16 year old didn't even cost a 500K if u remember correctly.. and that was was many MANY years before we heard his name in football circles... .. there are many such players if I had to really dig back, Otamendi when he was still in south America..game is usually spot in, obviously not all unknown gems rated in the game will turn out to be world stars, but usually it's because of player mentality, injuries,transfers etc things which FM can't predict. it gives you what it believes to be the players potential, it can't guarantee the player fulfills it.

Yes, I still don't know how did they do it, but they did predict future superstars from still way back in the late 90s when I has been playing it when it first came out in mid 90s. I think even Beckham was predicted to be future SuperStars.
In 2004 they predicted the 2 best wingers in spain Joaquin and Vicente were in the same team Valencia. They were right about Valencia but none of them came good because of injury.

This doesn't yet prove really how accurate FM is. It would make more sense to have 10 seasons simulated with an old FM and then compare that to historic records. If you predict a million things it makes sense a couple will be right.
